The only bug is that they drop string if you put blocks under them. -

Now it's gonna be impossible to play Minecraft for me, unless some serious bug fixing happens. -

Wow, Really? i got told it was on the 25th of last month, then the 29th and then the 3rd and then the 8th, now its gonna be even longer, im actually a bit upset
Mojang has only given us September 8th and September 12th as dates,
any earlier dates were misinformation or pure speculation. -

Sep 3, 2011GorgeousTaylor posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Changing the ChestsJust tested it, chests DO face toward sunset in 1.7.3, no matter how you're oriented in relation to them.Posted in: News
If that is indeed a sunset in Notch's picture, he changed it so that chests face the player. -

I think it's fine. You lose all of your levels when you die, so it's not like you'll be grinding for centuries -

Aug 17, 2011GorgeousTaylor posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Meet More MeatPosted in: NewsQuote from anon_blue
but I actually think that these are...
Different kinds of pork. Remember that Jebs smithy is cooking with lava so perhaps cooking pork in different ways is what's really being shown here? Just a thought.
Jeb said that these are two kinds of meat on his Twitter. Porkchops and beefsteak.
He did, however, debunk lambchops.
I'm guessing the smithy is for repairing items. -

The stacked meat was the first thing I noticed! how did they miss that in the article???
Maybe because Jeb has been talking about it for months and it's old news? >.> - To post a comment, please login.

Yeah, I noticed this, too. It's most likely a bug, because the new block uses the same data as the other stone bricks. So, when its state changes to "full of silverfish", it turns into the normal stone brick.

I saw your pillow suffocation station! Excellent work! xD

- Nerf the spread of water and lava from buckets. Re-implement sponges to mop up your messes and discourage griefing.
- Implement pipe blocks, for compact redstone wiring and transportation of fluids. If fluids are placed in a pipe block, they can travel for a number of adjacent pipe blocks, or until they reach an outlet, at which point they flow outward. On the other hand, redstone can only be placed in one pipe block at a time, and the pipe block also serves as a diode, because redstone current can only travel out of the outlets. If a sponge is placed in a pipe block, the pipe block acts as a valve for water that can be toggled by right-clicking.
- Implement the Allocater. It not only allows for automated storage, sorting and smelting, but makes powered/storage minecarts much more useful.
- Re-tool potion brewing. I love potions, but the current system is rather clumsy. Have a more obvious tier system where the weakest potions require a mundane base, the medium potions require a thick base, and the best potions require an awkward base.
- Implement a more in-depth use for cauldrons, and add a block that emits fire when powered.
- Work on difficulty scaling. Cons for the more powerful tools and armor, hostile mob improvements as the player becomes more powerful or explores further, a number of new challenge mobs. That sort of thing.
- OCEAN CONTENT.

I want another End mob, too.
Maybe a "daddy long legs" type enemy, with extremely long, spindly black legs.

It seems like they became more abundant around that time.

Totally agreed. If only there was more difficulty scaling (i.e., mobs are more powerful if you're higher-leveled or deeper underground, the most durable tools and armor slow you down the most), and a few things were toned down (i.e., diamond durability, water/lava spread from buckets).

Wow, my post really didn't sound sarcastic enough. xD

Yes, the feel of the entire game evaporated when Mojang added features you can choose not to partake in.

I said the Better Than Wolves mod, because it fits with the "tech advancement" side of Minecraft.
Crafting more and more efficient mechanisms to get along better in the Minecraft world.
That's also why pistons fit so well, they're a rudimentary "rope 'n' pulley" mechanism.
I have a beef with the Mo' Creatures mod, because it makes the usually wide-open Minecraft a cluttered place, without the player's interaction. I was willing to forgive ocelots, though, because they're a perfect juxtaposition to the other friendly mobs. They don't actively protect the player, but they scare away Creepers, which wolves avoid and iron golems ignore.

Nobody said that!
Please stop spreading misinformation, especially misinformation that is as nonsensical as this.
Most likely, the Nether will not be allowed to generate above the old height limit
because it would require too much terrain to be state-saved, causing major lag.
It would be more efficient to shorten the world height in the Nether,
or have nothing spawn above the old height limit.

I wasn't trying, nor will I ever.
On the topic of RPG elements, Minecraft has a lot of them. But it isn't an RPG, it's a sandbox game.
People just aren't used to a sandbox game with anything more than building or character management.
