How much ram are we working with here? Lots of mods that add structures, especially underground ones end up taking a lot out of your computer.

posted a message on Problem with Enviromine on multiplayer.

I've been testing the server files for my modpack for a while and I've noticed a couple significant problems, the water bottles don't restore thirst (it shows that they display your thirst is quenched for a second, then revert), but cold water, camel packs, salt water, dirty water, and drinking water with your hands still works normally.

The second problem is that furnaces, fires, and lava don't seem to produce any heat, and the only way I know of to warm yourself up apart from that is to to set yourself on fire, which is a huge problem since health regen is disabled.

These problems only exist in the multiplayer version of the modpack, and single player works just fine. Does anyone know how to fix these Enviromine issues?

Here's the link to the technic page if you need to check the modlist.

    Thank you.

I'm no expert on reading up on errors and problems, but I figured I might as well try to help until someone else decides to take over.

Most of these errors seem to revolve around PneumaticCraft. Can you try removing that mod and see if that helps?

posted a message on Looking for serious roleplay server.

So, first off. I don't use this website a lot, so if I posted this in the wrong spot, just let me know where I should actually be writing this and I'll relocate it.

Anyway, I'm having difficulty finding a roleplay server that I'd like to join due to a couple reasons.

    1. Some roleplay servers are too big, (Yet don't have many people) and the only way to really know what's going on is if you were playing the server beforehand, and the only way you kind find RP is to know the people there already. That being said, I don't mind if there's only a few players on it, it's just when it's too big to find anyone or anything that drives me away.

    2. Very limited races. Before I usually write characters based on the server, I usually like to start off with my main character Dagen Lestat, who was a human cursed in the Nether with undeath. I have a good amount of lore written on this character, and if you'd like to know more about him, just let me know. Slight alterations of his race are also possible.

    3. Some servers expect you to write a character based entirely on their lore and cities. I hate this because I don't know[/i] much about the server except for what's written about it. But I don't know the people who live there or what life is usually like there.

    4. The lore is exactly the same as an existing book. I'm fine with lore being based[/i] on a book, that makes perfectly sense, but I don't want it to be mandatory to read a book to play on the server to understand what's going on.

So, I'm certain that I'm being quite picky, so I'll tell you what I can offer in return.

I'm an experienced roleplayer. I played on Uthrandir and Hollowworld for a long time, but stopped playing them for reasons that I don't want to share, because I mean no disrespect to these servers that provided me with years of enjoyment.

I'm also an experienced builder of evil things, mostly Nether-themed, but I can also do dungeon themes and a bit of standard medieval building.

Pictures can be provided upon request, but there's really a lot of them.

I was also the co-owner of a couple small roleplay servers that closed due to lack of funding, so I have a small experience with writing lore and events.

Thank you for your attention and consideration. Questions and comments are always welcome.

I tried that one, it's not very good for modpacks due to high incompatibility, and I don't want all the furnaces and ovens that come with it.

After quite a while of testing, I didn't seem to find any issues except for one thing.

Is there any chance you could make it so you can't punch down trees from other mods too? And add those leaves to drop sticks?

If you need the mod list, you can find it here

I'll have to go for the night, as it's 6:30 AM, but I can continue testing the mod if you can get the other trees working tomorrow.

    Thanks again.

posted a message on Alternative to punching trees

I've been building a modpack for a few weeks and so far it's in pretty good standing, but there's one thing I really want to add that I've been searching for since the beginning, and that's to prevent people from punching down trees, be it not letting them hitting it at all, making the wood invincible without an axe, or making it so they take damage from punching trees down.

I found a couple mods that do this, but add other things as well that prevent it from being compatible with other modpacks.

As for the alternative for getting started?

I'd hope for a more realistic approach, for the sticks you could either add a twig bush that drops a stick or two upon breaking, or leaves have a chance of dropping a sick upon breaking them, then you could perhaps combine the stick with a piece of flint and create a primitive axe, slow, low durability an inefficient, but it's at least an axe, then you could get started with normal Minecraft things after that.

Of course, I'm sure there's other ways to approach this too, but that's just an idea.

I'd try to make this myself, but I have no programming knowledge, if anyone would be willing to create a mod that could do this, it'd be extremely helpful and I'd love to put it in the modpack (I'd give credit, of course.)

    Thanks in advance.

Awesome, hope it works out better for you this time. And no rush of course, I was just curious about the silence.

Have you had a chance to see if the problem was fixed?

I also need the server files tested too, my computer isn't good enough to run a server for this modpack.

I've massively reduced to spawnrate for the botania flowers to the point they should be almost rare to find, and I really enjoyed the look of the plant mega pack mod, so I added that too, a patch should roll around in 30-60 minutes and I'm going to be gone for a few hours.

    Enjoy!

I completely removed every file I had and completely reinstalled the modpack to be exactly what you have, I found food pretty quickly, passive, neutral, and hostile mobs from both vanilla and modded, and I tested it on a whole other computer too and it had the same results.

As for the food, you're being sure to check the vegetation on the ground because of Pam's harvestcraft, right?

You may have just had the worst luck out of anyone. You made sure to put it on Biomes O Plenty, right? I don't think that'd affect too much, but it might.

As for the Aether II donor perks being available, I think that's a server side thing they have. And they appear to be purely cosmetic, which is harmless enough.

    Is there anything else?

I think it's just bad luck with the food, I've never had any problem with finding food myself, but I'll give it another look.

I'll look into why you have donator perks, hopefully I don't have to remove aether.

And as for not seeing any mobs... That's very unusual, I didn't have that problem myself, but I might have done something by accident in config, and I'll try to fix that too.

There's a server download on the main page to the right side, there's a chance you'll have to play around with the server files when you download them though, they've only been lightly tested.

Have fun suffering with your friends!
