Hey, they have added new skin layouts for minecraft 1.8, so now is possible to have 2 layers...
But they could add 320x320 skins support! It would be AWESOME, the skins would be HD and so much possibilities!!
*Sorry for bad english
But yeah, 320x320 skins would be, in my opinion, one of the best things in this update!
I really do not like this idea. I feel like it just goes against the style of the game. I realize there are resource packs that go against the style of the game, but at least you choose to use those. With skins, people would just be waltzing around with HD-skins breaking the asthetic of the game. Also, 320x320 would be a terrible resolution, as it is not a power of 2 and therefore would not map very well onto the model. -

Ugh. This is going to a absolutely awful. If you try and add a story to a game where one of the points is that it has no story, it's going to be terrible. Not looking forward to this one.
In my opinion it is actually better to base a movie off a game that does not have a story. Because the game has no story, the movie's story can be written purely to work as a film, instead of being bogged down by elements from the game that they try to stuff in. -

This is a second "models". The first was "assets/minecraft/textures/models", this one is "assets/minecraft/models".
Oh, I see what you mean now.
I experimented around with it a bit, it seems to be an easier way to keep track of and add/change special block models. For example, by editing the tallgrass.json file I was able to make grass look like crops in shape.
Unfortunately it does not seem to work in resource packs. -

I wonder what the new models folder in assets is for, it seems like a control for block rendering.
I'm pretty sure "models" has been there ever since the change to the resource pack format. It contains the armor textures. -

And here I was, thinking it was amazing that the horses are even different from each other. -

the Number 1 decoration Block i have been dieing to have in Minecraft is to have chairs. I still can not believe that have not added them to the game yet. If this was in the game it would be great for machimina's and even MineTV.
You don't need chairs, just use stairs! - To post a comment, please login.

I don't think I would be able to stand having so many lamps all over my world, even if they were smaller.

This doesn't seem to work. I've even tried giving myself the default Alex skin and I still don't get thin arms. The weirdest part is that my default is the thin armed model, but as soon as my custom skin loads, it gets the thicker arms.

You can't change your default. The entire point of custom skins is so that you can change what you look like and not be default. The default is rarely seen if you have a custom skin, so why does it matter?

How does one "create a skin for that model"?
In what way is it determined whether the skin is for the thin armed model or the thick armed model?

I still see a lot of banding which makes it look jagged and not as nice in general.

I definitely like the one with "hooks." It looks a lot more legitimate and less like some kind of weights.

Nah, these were all just found randomly on the internet.

That's actually just a more rare biome variant, birch forest M.

I already know about the semi-transparent trick. I must not have explained myself correctly, because what you said still doesn't help.
This is what I previously had for my fast and fancy leaf textures:
I have areas that are different and do not become invisible, they are opaque in both fancy and fast versions of the texture. The second darkest shade is also darker in the fancy version.
I cannot change these between fast and fancy, I can only change the parts that become invisible.
With the new "one texture only for fancy and fast" snapshot, my fancy leaves now have to look like this:
Where they previously were able to look like this:

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. What trees? I haven't changed any trees. But yeah, the bushes were more of an experiment, I feel that they're too detailed to fit in with the test of the pack.
