This would be the fault of the moderators. When Jobs' death was announced, a torrent of threads were posted. Moderators started mass deleting them, and from its name, "RIP Jobs", it was assumed that it was another one of those, "RIP Jobs" threads.
In mathematics, the repeating decimal 0.999... (which may also be written as 0.9, , 0.(9), or as 0. followed by any number of 9s in the repeating decimal) denotes a real number that can be shown to be the number one. In other words, the symbols 0.999... and 1 represent the same number.
I'm sorry to inform you that this is an extremely misinformed topic. The people above have already said all there is to say. Thus, I have to close this topic. Sorry :sad.gif:
Unfortunately you can find all of this in every forum. That's just how it works. But just saying, you managed to forget all the users with reasonable posts. And just wondering, what is it you think about us moderators?
I'd personally like it if you told the OP that it had already been posted, and provided a link. It removes an extra step, where the moderator would have to explain why he's locking the thread. But maybe I'm just lazy.
Stop trying to be funny. I can see that you put numerous color tags in there, and did it so the url would be unclickable. So, I'm assuming you're experienced with bbcode. You're trying to mess with us. Stop.
On the off chance that you aren't doing this on purpose, remove the color tags. It'll leave you with this:

Also, I can assume this topic was inspired by this?: http://www.cracked.com/blog/6-innocent-sounding-topics-that-are-guaranteed-flame-wars/
It seems to be a true article, as far as I see.

Anyways, since 1/9 = 0.11... 8/9 = 0.88... Then 0.999 = 9/9
