Very low end, but they work perfectly fine without Optifine for some reason. I just tried OptiFine 1.11.2 B5 and it's just as frozen as OptiFine 1.11.2 B7
Also attempted to use Optifine for 1.8.9. Same results.
If I were to use a modpack containing Optifine and other mods, they work completely correct in comparison.
EDIT: I found the problem. A default setting instance of Optifine runs fine, but changing certain settings basically bricked it for me. I found that the setting "smooth FPS" broke my game. With that off, everything works fine again.
Basically, every world is completely pure darkness when I join. The FPS is always at exactly 0. I can see my hotbar, scoreboard, health bar, food bar, etc. The attached image will show you what it looks like. Couldn't do a screenshot within Minecraft, i had to use print-screen.
Minecraft runs 100% normally when I use a version without Optifine, but my Optifine version has this behavior. I've tried reinstalling Optifine for 1.11.2, but it simply continues the problem.
I would appreciate any help that could be provided.
I don't think specs are necessary, as the game itself runs perfectly fine without Optifine. It's not really a FPS/lag issue.
Thanks.
EDIT: Thought I should mention: I can hear sounds, but I cannot move. I could hear players running around on the server.
This is a very low-end laptop, but I've been able to run MC perfectly a while ago. Have not tried reinstalling sound card drivers, but will attempt. I'm not sure how well that would work considering all other processes run fine with sound. I've attempted revisiting older versions (1.2.5 for instance) and this still occurs. FPS is fine without sound. It's not that my PC can't keep up with the increasing versions apparently since the older ones possess this issue.
Whenever I play (Both singleplayer and multiplayer) I have a ton of FPS drops with sound turned on. With my sound turned off completely (MC not Windows) I have a ton of lag. FPS drops, and occasionally freezes. This happens on all versions of Minecraft.
While my specs aren't very good, I'm able to play more demanding games with audio on. I don't recall this happening in any version of Minecraft last year. I reset my hard drive and reinstalled Minecraft, but this still happens. Any help is appreciated.
I just want to mention that nothing demanding is happening in the game while this lag occurs.
I could be mining stone away from any chicken farms, (etc) and it would still happen. It even happens on Skyblock! (I have upwards of 200 fps without sound. This is quite odd.)
