At the server i've played to most time vinalla minecraft without mods it was quite fair and easy

if you've been caught the first time it was 3 days ban, second time 2 weeks and third time permanent ban

also they have not stacked the ban-times if it were different complains

For example if a user was caught cheating and got 3 days and 2 weeks later he had griefed others it was 3 days again as it was another case

also everything was forgiven after 3 months so if you'd have used xray and caught got 3 days and you'd get caught 6 months later doing the same you'll get 3 days again instead of 2 weeks

I kinda liked it as it was really fair and misstakes will be forgiven

Definitely isnt a mistake after the first time

Im having all kinds of issues lol. Corrupted data, extreme lag, game crashing (im on ps4 bedrock edition)

Im just not gonna play this game for a hot minute. I know minecraft has bug and performance issues like all games do but this is horrendous

I like this idea, deserts look boring and one of 3 interesting things (the village, the desert temple & the fossils) is under tons of sand and no one ever finds it because of that.

Ikr! I think it would be cool if dogs and wolves could sniff out the fossils since they like bones so much

Like when a fossil is within a 100 block radius, the dog will start barking a lot and move to wards the fossil's X coordinate location. It will sniff the ground if the fossil is below you, or look up and jump if its above you

Realism problems aside, as sunperp said, lag would be a hazard. Not to mention that desert villages/temples might get buried in sand by the time you find them.

You still think there are realism problems with all reasoning, to think that, removed by the facts presented to you?

Well, this is sign that i should no longer be trying to argue/talk to you ._.

@erictom333 im going to say something that hope can understand when it comes to "making sense" and "realism"

For an objects functionality to "make sense" it has to be "realistic". If its not "realistic" then it doesnt "make sense".

We define realistic as the world outside of gaming. However, if we lived in a gaming world, that world would be the new "realistic" or "make sense" to us and the outside world that we currently live in would be "unrealistic" or "lack in making sense"

(I can make this a sound a bit more simple through an example if needed. Its certainly enough to get across what im talking about and i dont want to underestimate you which is why im holding back an example. And im not using underestimate as an insult, i struggle with wording sometimes so if i did here but you still understood it. Id be underestimating you by giving a long example.)

Once you understand what i just said in this message is when you should get a much deeper understanding of how video games can get so successful without making any sense or being realistic. And you will see how youre argument stands on irrational grounds.

(And for emphasis, i usually dont like to say "will" because i prefer a more humble approach to things however this time im quite confident in how your views will change. Assuming youre a reasonable person, dont troll me)

A lot of things in minecraft don't make any sense. Skeletons riding spiders, green blobs exploding everywhere, being able to remove one block from a tree and have it float, drowned zombies, giant slimes, etc etc.

The entire world is made up of CUBES. Your argument of it 'not making sense' really isn't a strong one.

Just focusing on weather, you claim the rain in minecraft makes sense. That it comes from somewhere.

How? Where? and where is the rain going?

The rain abruptly starts and stops. No sprinkling. The sky just gets dark all of a sudden and down comes the rain. I have never seen a small pond's water level go down or rise when it rains.

So, if the pond never rises and never goes down, where is the water coming from?

Minecraft isnt intended to make sense. It's intended to be fun.

A sandstorm would be interesting and fun. Having to keep your home clean- or maybe not, allowing it to be covered with sand and instead create a hidden entrance- are little things that would be entertaining. It would allow for a smoother landscape, too, rather than having the same height of a block throughout the desert.

So, who cares if rain comes from nowhere and goes nowhere? I don't see giant puddles across the entire land every time it rains & i've never seen any water levels go down. So why do you insist on the sandstorm 'making sense' when nothing else makes sense?

Just relax. It's intended to be fun.

Precisely! I dont think theyre paying attention to what the game already has. Their reply was also pointless as it isnt saying anything. The fact that im saying "realistic" instead of "makes sense" doesnt matter because whenever i use either word in this conversation, both will simply be talking about "the sand coming from somewhere in the desert to make a sandstorm". So which of the 2 quotes i use doesnt matter at all in this situation

I just rewrote the message in the same message that erictom333 quotted except i replaced "realistic" with "making sense" (along with some small clean up to errors with, and a few additions to add emphasis on what was being talked about) just to help prove that the idea behind what i was talking about still stands regardless of me saying "realistic" or "making sense".

    Quote from erictom333»

It doesn't need to be realistic, just makes sense. Sand falling from the sky doesn't make sense.

It doesn't need to be realistic, just makes sense. Sand falling from the sky doesn't make sense.

Sand falling from the sky also isnt realistic. So both "making sense" and "realistic" can be used interchangeably in the message that i sent to you and my point will still stand....

Theres a typo in my message that you quotted btw. Im not sure if that confused you. It reads "i was saying that realistic is necessary for minecraft". It should say "isnt necessary" or "unnecessary". Im not sure if you cought that or not, because your reply to the quote lacks purpose as ive previously pointed out in my paragraph above this one.

My point is that for a sandstorm to place sand blocks, it needs to destroy sand blocks somewhere else.

I know this is your "point", i was responding to it..

Youre saying it "needs to" for it to be realistic. I was saying that realistic isn't necessary for minecraft. Simply put. I mean we have a bucket that can technically hold an infinite amount of water.

Realisticness is not a necessity, and shouldnt be used as an argument for minecraft. Unless you dont want buckets holding tons of water, no evil mobs, no respawning from a bed, no mushroom biome, etc.... you shouldnt be trying to use it as an argument.

Must not forget that minecrafts goal is to take you away from "reality" into a "fantasy". The goal is for fun > realism

(Just incase youre struggling to see how you can replace "realistic" with "making sense" in my message @erictom333, read below)

I know this is your "point", i was responding to it..

I mean we have a bucket that can technically hold an infinite amount of water for crying out loud. Minecraft already makes no sense lol

Making sense is not a necessity for gaming nor is it even desired by the developers of minecraft. Therefore it shouldnt be used as an argument for minecraft ideas. Unless you dont want buckets holding tons of water, evil mobs, respawning from a bed, mushroom biomes, etc.... you shouldnt even be "trying" to use it as an argument.

No offence but this idea isn't a great one. Other than the fact that it would be too much work to code, it wouldn't be a great addition to the game as it wouldn't be overally useful. This idea makes no difference to whether or not people go hunting. More people than not prefer to hunt in minecraft to get their food as well as farm foods, we don't want this game to turn into an overally 'PC' game like the real world, it's a way to escape and idolize the way people lived before people started going all soft.

No offence taken, i for the most part agree with what you are saying. Some games should be an escape from "reality" and not try to "teach" people how to act, and minecraft is definitely one of those games

    Appreciate the response

What I was saying is that the sand in a sandstorm must come from somewhere else in the desert (or somewhere else there is sand). Sand can't be created (effectively) ex nihilo like snow. (As for snow, we can explain that to water being infinite.)

(I do hope youre not saying that water is excused because mojang decided to make it infinite "sometimes". If you are then i do hope you realize the same can go for sand being infinite sometimes. It goes hand and hand with mojangs logic)

I think that because its a game, and desert biomes are not super small, 1 can certainly get away with sandstorms coming from "no where"

A prime example of this would be in a game like "uncharted". The sand on the ground around you stays the same though theirs a sand storm going on blowing up all the sand. The goal was to create something fun to play in rather than being Extremely "realistic", which i think most can agree that it certainly was Fun which is the most important thing for a video game

The way the sand storm actually works was left to your imagination in Uncharted

(I think this below is my BIGGEST point)

Also, though there is a lot of water, when it evaporates and goes up to a cloud the water on the ground is supposed to go down a bit (yes it is noticeable), and its also supposed to go up when it rains but this isnt shown in minecraft primarly because its not necessary for player enjoyment when it comes to rain and snow

Same can go for a sandstorm. It doesnt have to show the sand coming from somewhere noticeably, we can just imagine where its coming from and most players would still be satisfied like snow and rain

You're suggesting a villager that improves by being around animals. Zoologists typically study how a particular species interacts with the ecosystem rather than having general knowledge about animals. So yes, a zookeeper.

Mojang's logic is also flawed. They refuse to add whales or sharks, they change cookies to kill parrots as real life. Correct. However, they also insist that carrots breed rabbits (spoiler: carrots are quite deadly to rabbits in real life) and let polar bears drop fish when killed. Even with their fictional creatures. You invade the Shulkers' home, kill them, then stuff them for personal profit.

What my post was meant to read as is "I doubt anyone will read far enough into the zoologist/zookeeper villager's existence to think of it as a message to follow in real life as opposed to just another profession, especially when you consider Minecraft is, at its very core, a survival game".

Yes yes, make sense. I agree their logic is flawed, and i doubt most people will look far into zookeepers/zoologist existence to get the message HOWever, those who look far enough to think that killing a shark in game means its okay to do it in real life more than likely will look deeper into the meaning of zoo keeper villager, wouldnt you agree?

Or prehaps a better solution would be for mojang to add dialogue to the game in a way to remind players, who arent the brightest, that this is just a game. As thats a good message to teach them as well

(Also, the mobogist needing to be around animals to create potions doesnt sound like having a general knowledge of animals. It leans more on studying the animal in an environment to create something new.

Zookeepers take care of animals, and dont use knowledge gained from the animal to help make things benefital to people over the animal.)

I believe a zoologist is different from a zoo keeper, correct me if im wrong

Also, in order to teach someone not to go hunting, you must first know why they shouldnt. So if we are going to use mojangs logic about "people may do whats done in a game in real life" do tell me how a zoologist doesnt lead to 1 of the many reasons we shouldnt hunt animals? At least not to the point of extinction

I don't think anything in a vidoegame like Minecraft will have any effect on players' real life actions. (Which is why I disagree with Mojang's blacklisting of sharks.)

As do i, but since mojang thinks otherwise i decided to propose this idea so that we can get mobs like sharks and mojang can no longer argue that the introduction of sharks will negatively impact peoples minds. Infact, this addition would do the opposite
