I don't see why we need to use copper. Why not just iron, or even a new material? I would be in favor of a new material.

    That's my point.

Even stranger than something not meeting the player's expectations (using iron for explosive weaponry)?
we're talking about a game with Undead, Spiders the size of pigs, Litteral hell, orbs that can teleport you, magic, and you're complaining about a gun being made of copper?
In my opinion the boomstick feels like it could fit in, but so much so that it wouldn't need the Frist to be added. I like that we've transitioned from guns to handcannons, but it should be more frosty or more steampunky.
that's why it's made of copper
Also, I agree with AMPPL50 in that it should have some sort of ammunition. Maybe it randomly pulls certain items (such as dirt, cobblestone, iron nuggets, etc.) to use.that would just be annoying, i like it just firing gunpowder, though i'm not opposed to a proper ammo.

Side note, your suggested method of re-loading would be really, really, really annoying. sense you have to go into your inventory with every shot, that also makes you vulnerable. it may aswell apply a stun every time you shoot it, just saying.

Alright, so remember my "steampunk armor" from before? well, i decided to re-work it.

The "steam Thrustpack" is obtainable by getting a blueprint off of the controller. and then crafting it with this recipe

the iron of course represents copper here

and once equipped it uses solid fuel in the inventory as power, fuel efficiency is based on burn time, so a blaze rod will be much more effective then a piece of coal.

first, double tapping space will cause the thustpack to launch you approximately 10 whatever direction you're looking, this costs 1 coal worth of fuel

second, holding shift while in the air will cause you to hover. you can move around while doing this, but you'll be somewhat slow, and you'll "slide" asthough you where on ice. each piece of fuel allows you to hover for each second of burn time (so a piece of coal will allow you to hover for 80 seconds)

third, holding right click while holding an item that lacks right click functionality will cause you to charge a dash, which makes you, well, dash in whichever direction you're looking. this takes as much fuel as a thrust (see use 1), only launces you 5 blocks, but goes much faster, and if you hit an enemy while dashing you will do greatly increased damage and knockback, and if you punch something while dashing you'll go even more knockback.

sounds great, though wouldn't the boomstick be repaired with copper, the same material the automatons use, and the same material that the tundrans make them out of.

i agree with that idea, maybe the musket could be reworked into a "copper boomstick" or "copper heater".

like the frore color thing, though i think it should be more like Ark: Survival evolved's color system, where there are multiple regions that can get different colors.

And again, having half the bosses in one dimension isn't an issue with the dimension, it an issue with the fact that Minecraft is really lacking in the bosses department.

this is a late/post-game dimension right? so it makes to have tons of content. in addition, i feel like we shouldn't limit our dimension on the other dimension's short comings. the ether and end are relatively bland, and really need a face lift IMO, so we should just make this dimension as cool as possible, preferably without making the overworld irrelevant.

posted a message on Why did people vote for the Phantom? It's a useless addition to the game most players won't even encounter.

so it seems now they de-spawn during the day, this may make them slightly less of a nuisence

It seems to me that the biggest issue is the lack of purpose behind the planets. I didn’t think much on a reason to go the planets besides it exploring diverse landscapes and maybe finding planets with a high diamond concentration. while the diamond thing is true, it is very, very, VERY easy for procedural generation to get boring, just look at no man's sky.

So without further ado here’s a couple new reasons for coming to the planets:
    • Upon traveling to a new planet, you will receive a significant amount of XP. If you are discovering the planet you will get twice as much XP.

    that's nice
    • Aliens now occasionally drop “[name] eggs” which can be left clicked to spawn a new one of that same alien. This means you can bring back aliens to your base!

    ok, that's cool
    • In alien dungeons a special book unique to that planet can be found. This book can be traded to librarians for about 10 emeralds.

considering how hard these are to get to, i'd say 32-64 emeralds would be better
    • Aliens also drop the item that their Overworld counterparts drop, though the quantity depends. Maybe you’ll find a creature that drops 4 bones each, in which case consider setting up a farm.

    yeah, that could be useful
    • Faction Servers would no longer be super griefed. Admins could create new planets for new adventures or just Overworld copies to keep things fresh. Or there could be faction servers where each gets its own planet!

the planet thing would be fun
    • Mods and addons can create unique resources specific to the planets. I don’t want to add specific resources because I fear then this suggestion would become super long, jump all over the place, and in the end feel like a mod. Planets are more meant to be a blank canvas for you to do anything with. If you find a peaceful planet, consider moving your base there. Or setting up outposts across the galaxy, each for its own distinct purpose. i figured that was already the case

I know that they spawn in villages and have unique behaviors, but they are still a bigger than the player mob. Maybe I'm the only person who has a problem with this but imo they both take up the space of "big creature with high health and damage". That's the trolls role? i thought they where strong cave dwellers that could stun.

10-15 blocks is really tall, especially if there's going to be multiple ones at the same time. that's the point, to my understanding, these things where the size of mountains in the mythos. 6 blocks might work. The villages must be huge to accommodate that size. And Jotuns keeping Frores as pets is kind of interesting but also diminishes the Frore's impact. that's thy i initially suggested them training Glacipods Maybe a single Jotun could be a summonable boss, but even then we already have the boss slot taken up by the Engineer. apart from the fact that we can have multiple bosses, that could work, would need to be 20-30 blocks tall though

I went ahead and edited the Fristum texture. The left is the new, bluer version and the right is the old one. Which one is better?

    the bluer one

Genius how big is the Jotun? Sorry if you said this before, I couldn't find the original idea. I fear the Jotun would be too similar to the Frost Trolls, we'd have to choose which ones we want to keep. Even if the Jotun are bigger they still fit the mold of big hulking monster that attacks you.

umm, i was thinking about 10-15 blocks high, with proportions relative to the player. but if you read my original suggestion (page 20 btw) you'll see that they're nothing like trolls, they spawn in villages, raise Mammoths as hogs (out dated) some use uprooted trees as clubs, some throw giant snowballs, and some keep glacipods/frores as wardogs/therapods.

that's not a good example, sense they where removed. i would point twords the ender dragon, sense the Jotun would probably be comparable in mass.

The Jotun in the overworld or the jotun in the frist? in the overworld, the jotun would spawn in a special cave, while in the frist they would spawn in villages, and there would be ALOT of them

there power is kinda the point, they're ment to be a "raid boss", as in there's no way in Helheim that a player is Soloing it, if you want to take 'em on, you need an army of Automatons, hired tundrans, and tamed glacipods/frores.

A lot of people are making them today (just look at the last page lol). A glitch running around the forum, I think.
i noticed the forums are a bit laggy today
I agree that the 2nd option is the most seamless, Ice Castles can stay in the Frist. I didn't think about how dungeon loot would be limited on survival worlds, good point Zaffre.
Even though he dimension isn't progression based, it's INCREDABLY difficult, that's why we need a proper boss or miniboss guarding acsess. it serves as a warning, with the frost trolls, those would be, what? 3x stronger than a zombie? not saying much.
Should rename the Ice Troll "Jotun"? The name has been growing on me.nah, based on the model and texture, these are much more troll like then giant like. to my knowledge, the Jotun where giant huminoids, and i mean GIANT. i don't think calling the trolls "jotun" would do them justice. and i already suggested a role for Jotun, which no one acknowledged...
