Relax. Win10 doesn't do mods.
(The java version, which does do mods, isn't included in this update).
It's easy to get confused. You kinda have to be careful when you use the term "PC" these days (which used to mean just the java version). There are two editions of MC (java & Win10) that can play on a computer. But they're totally separate games, and both can be installed on your computer, and even run, at the same time.
But this does bring up something interesting I hadn't thought about! Win10 doesn't do "mods", but it does do "add-ons" (the "newer" way to modify and customize the game). That may be the reason Xbox and Switch need whole new games instead of just an update- they'll not only have to add cross-play and infinite worlds (huge changes in themselves), but Xbox (and Switch) also have to include the ability to use add-ons.
So now the question becomes "If you play with join up on a Win10 world with add-ons and you're using an Xbox (that doesn't have them) will you be using them too?"
At this point we don't know. There's a lot of details about how all this is gonna work they haven't told us yet (and are probably still working out themselves).
Off the top of my head, I think any cross-play will be vanilla-to-vanilla only to avoid confusion (any installed add-ons will be ignored). But Realms's Win10 allows add-ons in a Realms world, so I could be wrong. We'll see....

Sorry, you don't/can't..... not with Minecraft. You can with the java edition only (but that comes with it's own limitations).

There has been numerous threads on this.
Reinstalling will not help.
There's nothing wrong with the game. It's your computer. It's failing the graphics test during the display of the Mojang logo.
Update your graphics drivers.

It's not like java MC, at all. Course the java version isn't like Minecraft either. People seemed confused- they think all "Minecrafts" should be alike. Sorry, there's 2 different "Minecrafts" and they are quite different.
It may seem "ridiculous" to you, but you can only play on Realms, "approved" servers, or PE servers with Minecraft. For that edition, it's "normal".

Sorry, nothing from Minecraft (bedrock) works in the java version, or vice-versa. Two completely separate programs.... in many ways.

Have we forgotten what happened 3 years ago when the Xbox One edition came out and everyone "tried" to convert their 360 worlds? All the shear walls, etc.? This flap isn't half the flap that that "conversion fiasco" caused. You can "expect" conversions to "work properly" all you want, but the reality has always been disappointment and has never worked right.

1- The new Minecraft is not just an Xbox program. It is a merger of several separate programs that were specifically made for specific platforms. Compromises were made, for both the good and the bad. Everyone's program that they know and love changed some.
2- While there has been some "updates" to the game (ie, to add additional Store content), the game itself hasn't had a real update since BTU first came out. Of course there's bugs- every version of MC has them since Day One. Always has and probably always will. But they're working on the bugs.... and additional features.
3- I would never try to "convert an old world" when a new edition of Minecraft comes out. I always expect to start a fresh, new world... especially since I'm well aware that no conversion is perfect.
But that's me.
I'm sorry that some people are having trouble with the "conversion", but I'm also sure that Mojang has already heard plenty about it and they're working on it. They'll either fix it, or they won't. You'll be able to make the conversion at a later date, or not.

Are you talking about the java version?

There's a difference between people thinking "something (is) not working as it's suppose to" (ie, the "old" way) and something actually is working as intended (the "new" way). Redstone is a good example.

Sorry, but I think you can't get there from here. I believe that any Xbox One version program you get will just auto-update to BTU anyway. I get that you want to save all your hard work, but now you can do it again, but this time even better. Besides, we're talking a double conversion here and each is far from perfect, so you probably wouldn't like the end result anyway.

Minecraft (not the java version) will only let you get Experience if you do something to earn it (ie, kill a mob yourself), which is probably as it should be. Grinders may give you drops, but you don't get any experience. Anyway, that's the way Win10 has been since it came out.

The Bedrock edition files aren't as modifiable as the java files that you're used to. Tinkering with them will likely cause "unexpected results"- if the game runs at all. If you want to customize the game, that's what add-ons are for.

Sorry, wouldn't know- I've never lost any inventory. Maybe the problem shows up under specific circumstances? If you find out the repeatable, specific circumstance that this occurs in you could report it so it gets fixed?
(I'm still trying to figure out why, after all these years, there's still X number of features added with each update.... and X2 number of bug fixes ).

Given Mojang's track record, their games (regardless of edition) have always had "things that REALLY need to be fixed". And we have complained about them for years.
Considering that Bedrock hasn't had even one update yet (it's still 1.2.x), I'm sure they'll "fix" it in the future.... and give you something else to complain about.
