posted a message on PE to PC Server

Sorry, you read it wrong. The (new) Minecraft is cross-platform- it can play on computers, tablets, phones, and consoles... and they can all play together.

However. all "Minecrafts" are not the same.

I said the "(new) Minecraft" (Bedrock). Minecraft: Java Edition is basically the same game, but a completely different animal. Nothing from the java version works with the any other version. No surprise here- it's always been that way. In fact, until Win10 came along, no edition of MC could play with any other edition.

I get that it's hard for some people to wrap their head around it, but there's 2 "minecrafts", roughly the same game, but totally incompatible.

posted a message on Realm says "Cannot connect: Outdated Client!" since update.

In order for multiplayer to work (Realms, hooking to another device, etc.), all parties involved must be on the same version. That has always been the rule with any game.

As Cherry said, nothing to do but wait till all parties "catch up".

WARNING for others reading this: Enter a "beta" at your own risk. You will not be able to multiplay with anyone except other beta testers running the same version. Realms will never use a "beta" version- only official released versions (and it may take a day or two for them to update to that 'released' version).

posted a message on Minecraft windows 10 edition darkroom spawner not working

It "works as it should", but Win10 does not work in some ways exactly like the java version does (or, depending on how you look at it, the java version doesn't work like Win10 either). There's two different versions of "Minecraft", and they don't work exactly alike (and probably never will).

    All "minecraft's" are not alike.

However, this is only the first version of BTU, and there's many changes to come in the future- just like the java version is changing all the time.

If you've tried to do something (like a dark room spawner) from a YT video, stick to BTU videos to avoid frustration and confusion.

posted a message on Mob grinder help!

Several things were changed in the BT update for all editions. Many things work the same, some work different. Again, "All 'minecrafts' are not the same!" The BT edition works different than any "Minecraft" before it, just as there were differences between previous MC editions. Instead of assuming or thinking that it "should" work like "Minecraft", we should embrace the "new" way it actually works.

That said, remember that this is the first version of BT. There hasn't been a update yet (except for Store updates), so expect changes. Wait for 1.3

Sorry, the only servers you can hook to are Realms or the three "approved" servers. Also, you can't hook to any java servers.

posted a message on How to identify which resource pack is compatible?

Minecraft (Bedrock engine, the Better Together version, or the old "Win10") and Minecraft: Java Edition are two completely separate games with different version numbers, totally incompatible with each other. Minecraft (the one you have) doesn't/can't use mods- it uses add-ons instead. (Yes, Win10 is now called Minecraft, and to avoid confusion, the java version is now called Minecraft: Java Edition).

While both are "Minecraft-ish", all minecraft's are not the same.

Basically I'd stick with the skins, resource packs, worlds, etc. from the Store. Nothing from the java version will work, nor can you mess with the files like you did with the java version.

    I'd stick to BT videos.

posted a message on Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, Won't let me opt-out!!!

From the posts that I've read, the vast majority don't seem to be able to opt of the beta no matter what they try (and the "solutions" posted don't seem to work). Sorry, but you'll just have to wait till the "official" update comes out.

As an FYI to others reading this: joining the beta is a one-way street. Sign up at your own risk.

posted a message on Minecraft Windows 10 edition leaves a lot to be desired

1- Using coordinates helps you to get some achievements and that's why it's considered a "cheat" (I prefer to think of using coordinates as an "aid").

2- This is not the java version. All "minecrafts" are not the same, and never have been.

    3- It doesn't.

Assuming that (either) one should be "just like" (or work "just like") the other will always end in disappointment. Each edition is what it is and the two will never be alike or have the same features. Play the edition that you prefer and don't worry about the other.

posted a message on Minecraft Windows 10 edition leaves a lot to be desired

Remember that Mojang knows the differences between the two editions (since they do both), and they made them different intentionally. It's not a "bug", nor were some features left out. While both are "Minecraft", the two editions are "different"..... in many ways. No, Minecraft isn't like the Java edition, but the Java edition isn't like Minecraft (Bedrock) either!

    * Forget "F" keys. Minecraft (Bedrock) doesn't use F-keys cause phones, tablets, and consoles don't have F-keys. However, you can turn on coordinates (which shows your depth) in the Settings menu.

    * Nope, there's no way to exit the game without saving.... so don't die (which is kinda the point of Survival). Wouldn't help you anyway as the original file is overwritten (saved) every 2-3 seconds so even just quitting the game won't work (takes you right back to where you were when you quit). However, you can Export the world file (to anywhere, even "the cloud") to "save" it at a point in time and then Import it if you need too.

    * Want to be invulnerable? It's called Peaceful, and you can switch to it at anytime.
