I used to be a huge fan of leather, back when animals just respawned willy-nilly.
Iron was harder to come by, and I enjoyed the matte look of leather armor.
I would've really liked to have seen it come back into usefulness, but it takes ages to collect 24 leather from a moomoo farm.

Biography: A passionate historian and scholar, one of the ‘Old World’s most extensive libraries was a testimony to his dedication. A crippling fear of insects was a serious hindrance to his study, often keeping him from field-work in caves, or ruins. As meteors plummeted from the heavens, and the world began to unravel, he reinforced his observatory and watched. Studying and documenting the surrounding horrors, he was ripped from one of his most important observations yet. In any other case, this would have been a spirit-crushing loss… but this new place is full of promise, and there is no sense in grief when there is so much to learn, and be recorded. An insatiable hunger for knowledge will drive this man through any ordeals, and is often the one thing that gives him the strength to persevere.
Skills: As an Enchanter, an uncommon type of specialist magic user, his skills in enchanting and glyph-writing are second to none. Knowledge of offensive magic compensates for an utter lack of swordsmanship. Monster anatomy is an obscure interest that often comes in handy when defending one’s self.
Appearance: His hair is coarse and white, as an elder’s, though his face is relatively free of lines. Poor eyesight affects his disposition; his eyes never seem to open fully. His attire is designed for a frigid climate, layered and lined with wool. A worn leather satchel hangs at his hip, and pouches of various sizes hang from his belt.
