When this happens, the simplest answer is to build somewhere else. If the problem continues, download an already made jar from the internet This should solve any problems.
When that happened to me, I used the fun way out and put a wall of tnt on one side. I set it off, then did it again and again until I found an opening.
The aspect of this obviously crossed the game developers mind when they made the game. They figred that fans of the game would understand the humor to it and how it didnt really matter. Again, it was meant as humor.
The world generator has been so improved from when it first was made that there are now no holes in the bottom. In order to find the void you must be on creative so that you can break the bedrock.
