An Idea I have for a corrupted area would be stuff like sponge and end stone, very foreign and ugly compared to other blocks. I guess you could include marble with those, but I would test it out. Lava & water seemed to fit in my small tests, and I think lapis could be a good accent block. Sandstone could also mix in, possibly, but hasn't that been done to death :) (jk!). I would attempt this idea myself, but my intel card prevents me from using MCedit, and plus I'm too lazy. If anyone actually takes this idea, I'd love credit.

It's been done. The concept of the nether "seeping" into a regular area is very common, whether it's a jungle, ruins, castle, caves, whatever.

Anyways, it seems Xekaj is back to life. He fiinally released #21 on his calculator thing. And only 19 days late! (jk he had major mcedit issues so I understand).

EDIT: Calendar. Not calculator. It's time for me to go to sleep.

I know that it's been done before.

    Heh.

Did a little test area. I made a castle corrupt and added soul sand and netherrack everywhere.

    Time to start from scratch.

I don't see why everyone loves East Commons (the ones with the big trees and dirt and water, it might be west). For it's time, the area was ok I guess (I played Legendary fairly recently so I couldn't say) but now it's just bombs on a dirt ball with trees. To each his own I guess.

I think it's nostalgia. I love the area.

I remember playing that map in 1.2. The armor in the cest didn't break, but it didn't protect you that much either.

    And snapshot info:

Textures for blocks and items now have individual image files (read more below)
    Improved death messages
Improved naming (using the anvil) of containers and mob eggs

Trapped chests now give off the redstone signal through walls

Improved hoppers and made them controllable by redstone

    Updated language files
Language files can now be updated via the background downloader (no need for a new Minecraft release)

In the picture above the change log, there is a picture showcasing a TNT cart and nether quartz blocks.

I have a new favorite building material.

Oh, and you can put rail tracks on top of hoppers now.

    My lucky day.

    So vak.

Your daka turrets don't have enough daka.

Here's how you can add more daka.

    1.
    Fire charges. Use them

    2. Place a 2 thick wall of lava in front of the dispensers. This will make the arrows catch on fire. Try using a TNT cannon now.

What Vechs really needs to do is just make fireballs with a high blast radius and have them spit out from a spawner.

I think you can use them, it's just that Vechs isn't responsible if you ruined it for yourself because of it.

Also, tunneling, enderpearls, and fire resist potions are perfectly valid.
Tunneling: Vaks is smart enough to discourage tunneling.
Enderpearls: Hard to get, and if you hit an entity you'll teleport right inside its face.
Fire resist: Once you have access to brewing, the next areas will be much, much harder to make up for it.

Dinnerbone's probably talking about zombie pigmen fighting villagers.
(Unless he actually made pigs aggressive, which in that case we have all the reason to be scared)

    How you do that?

    There, close enough

Or.. you could click more reply options and uncheck the auto emoticon button. You can still use emoticons, but new ones you put in won't automatically turn into smilie faces.

I'm still wondering what spawners which can spawn multiple types of mobs will show!

It shows the mob that it's going to spawn next. :(

Well Vechs, you've officially made me rage at Infernal Skys II, Legendary, and don't even get me STARTED on Waking Up. You are THE single greatest (and evilest) map maker I have ever had the pleasure of attempting to outwit (and fail, miserably). Thanks for your great work, keep it up! One of these days I would love to make a video of me trying one of these and putting on my Youtube. Do I have to get special permission for that?

    No.

    EDIT: Oh also first.

    :(

    I'd love to beta test.

I can make pretty screenies too.

    Isn't that simple. :P

You'll have to sorta describe yourself with the stuffs above, however that hard that may be. It's flexible.

    Fine. :3

I have loads of experience in CTM maps, and am in the process of making one right now. I can give quick feedback, and have a history of criticizing most of my friends. This lead me to having lots of goddamn time, in which I have developed a love of riding pigs.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this application.

What do you guys think about BD2? I think it is great... vechz has not only created CTM, but created an amazing version OF CTM. :) The only problem with that kind of map is that making a map like that would be hard: Bugs, constantly having to find item ID's, and in general, making the map fair and fun! Though vechz is vechz, and he doesn't care if it's that hard ;)

Shall we not start this again?

Hey, guys. Been getting bored with Minecraft lately, so I figured I'd give a Vechs map a shot. I tried Canopy Carnage AGES ago, but never got far. Mods grabbed my attention before I got anywhere on that >.>

Anyway, I was wondering what map you all would recommend for a relative newcomer to Super Hostile. Erm.... after the training map, of course. I tried Kaizo Caverns and kind of just died repeatedly in the Lava Caverns area >.> Damn you and your coal-based TNT traps, Vechs. So I came to the realization that I might have just grabbed one of the harder maps. If Kaizo is one of the "easy" (relatively) maps, then I'll go give that another try, but I figured I'd get recommendations, first xD

    Thanks :P

OH. Additional Info: I have a computer that is what I "affectionately" refer to as a festering pile of crap, so stuff that would kill my computer is kind of not going to work at all.

Try Infernal Sky II. One of my first maps, one of of the easiest.

    Here's an idea:
Redstone Block for the Monument. You have to disarm traps in order to get it :P

    Me gusta.

You can see a small red tracing around the lock of the chest. It's noticeable if you're looking for it, so it can be sniffed out.

    Darn.

It'd be good to scare people with.

You could take all of someone's chests and make them trapped.

Maybe one could trigger a snare beat every couple seconds or so, indicating a bomb that doesn't exist.

    Except Vechs

Even Vechs says he isn't evil.

The persona he embodies in his maps are meant to be evil, but in a couple circumstances, he even helps you, and just ends up creating a troll.

Give me one good example of something truly evil and I'll reevaluate my life based on those ideas.

So anywho, I've been working on a map for the past couple of months, and now it's almost done! I made it Open-world, and pretty big. I only have about 3 dungeons left to work on now, so yeah. Almost done.
    Here are some pics!

    The Wool Monument.

Inside the first dungeon(or "Wool Lair", as I'll be calling them).

An area to tempt greed and stupidity. :P

    An obnoxiously difficult area.

    City park.

My favorite part of the map.

The thing assaulting my favorite part of the map.

    Urban District.
I made this map with a story in mind, and through the map you'll find lost journals or notebook that will tell that story. Here are the basics:
A once prosperous and advanced race is suddenly invaded by an army of the undead. In the resulting nuclear fallout, much of the world is reduced to rubble, and the population is virtually wiped out. It'll make for some fun exploring, in any case. :)
    FEDDBACK PLZ! :P

    Edit: PAGE GET BOOYAH!

Looks good, but it isn't smooth, or natural looking as it could be. Maybe adding more brushes and smoothing/eroding over them might help.

Also, thank you for linking me to this thread.

Knew it was he but never thought about it.
