    I didn't read all the rules before I played eventide because I figured they'd be mostly vanilla and I crafted 2 beds. The command block system seems to be on a loop, the wool and wood is returned to me over and over again. I have stacks of wool and wood spraying all over me. :c


    Otherwise, the map is really fun. I was really enjoying running around and raiding dungeons, and it doesn't look bad despite the time constraints.


    Oh, and I'm hosting it on a server, although that's probably not the root of the problem. Thanks for an awesome map!

    I don't know why I thought this would look good. Suggestions as to how to create nice-looking block differentiation in lanterns? WIP of course and there might be a handful of islands (or none at all, we'll see). I was thinking of setting the landscape (mass of the cave, not the floating blocks) in the background to a block like obsidian, but it'd be pretty difficult and a major time suck.

    Did something like that 1.5-2 years ago, I just misplaced the save with a OS re-installation. I'm jealous though, your area is much better even in its earlier stages (In my defense, I was starting out).


    Might have to borrow the artificial area theme from you though for my map, if that's okay with you.

    And Sabre, the area was more of an experiment, I'm still figuring out how I want to make the map. I am keeping the gold though, it'll be balanced.


    MCEdit's erode brush is really ugly and unwieldy imo. If anyone has suggestions for replacements, that'd be fantastic.


    I've traditionally used Voxel Sniper for eroding and tweaking, but it's being held up and remade. I really, REALLY don't want to edit first and then replace the blocks with prismarine after I'm done and updated.


    Maybe I could try dumping the old VS in a 1.8 spigot server... idk

    You can't quite see in this shot, and I am trashing that area and recreating it (better, hopefully), but there are glowing slime block patches and the pseudo-clouds are made of that other prismarine block. Other than the gold though, it's all mostly greenish-teal, so maybe some variation is needed.


    I was going to rely on some mobs to colour the place up, but I can see now that you're right. I'll play around with it. Thanks for the suggestion :)

    So.. I'm going to be making a map. Screenshot's bad, but it's proof of a start, and is likely going to change dramatically or be removed from the final map.


    Would anyone like to volunteer to be a pre-Alpha tester? I'm looking for as many people as possible; it might be a while before I have any real feel for the map, or anything especially playable, but it'd be nice to have a group I can bounce ideas off of. Thanks in advance!


    Also, the map's name is likely to be Phantasmagoria. Hopefully the word will give you a sense of what the map'll be like.

    Hi everybody! I'm not sure if any of you will remember or know me, but I used to be active in the CTM community.

    I haven't played MC in a while now and haven't kept updated on CTM maps in general. I want to be active for a little bit (although I'm not sure how active the community is anyways), and I was wondering if there are any good maps built around 1.8 you guys can recommend.

    What kind of tree(s) and shrub combos can I use in this area to create a dense forest? I'm looking for custom trees, not default ones; I've tried those here with poor results. If need be I can change the terrain, but I rather like it so far, even though it's dull. Also any tips on custom tree creation? :P

    Is there a chance you could add an option for this filter to only apply to certain types of blocks in the selected area?

    So as far as I can tell, the light level filter only updates once you update the block itself by placing a block or whatnot.

    Still testing though, can't be sure.

    Also, you can set the light level of air. Pretty awesome.
