Yeah, I get that but a lot of had problems with the engine itself and problems with the game itself in general and making an entirely new script and engine to fix these problems would be a dramatic update and would most likely be easier to start from scratch. But I do understand where your coming from of course.

Yeah, I get I should have been more organized and less just throwing ideas, but it was mostly just to give examples to support my case. And about it having story was just something I thought the game could benefit from but I am understanding of why it shouldn't completely. I've thought about making a reply to the thread with more details on what could be changed that would be beneficial to not just do as mods, dlcs, etc.

I'm probably not the first person to discuss this on the forum, and I doubt I'd be the last. I'm sorry if this topic has become spammy, I tried looking up stuff about it and saw no threads related to something like this so I hope this hasn't become spammy. Anyways, here it goes.

Why would they make a Minecraft 2?

Minecraft is still a popular game, but it's easy to tell the community itself has gotten smaller as the hype that it has had over the years has died down. I'm not going to be like one of those people who are like "Minecraft is dying" I'm just saying like all games people start to play less or lose interest, etc.

Also, money. Mojang has released other games but I've hardly seen anything about them so even if they are making a profit than those they're not as much as they've made from Minecraft. It'd be kind of rude for them to now begin selling DLCs for base Minecraft, after all these years of never even tweeting about the idea of having dlcs.

    What would be in it?

Well first the basics, it would still have Minecraft sandbox mode with survival, hardcore, and creative. But it should also have a story mode. And I don't mean like the tell tale story mode, I mean like adventuring across the map and finding a story or going on adventures and going through dungeons for it.

What it could add to sandbox mode --

    Environment:

It could have a wider variety of animals, villager types, and interactions, weather and seasons. Although we do have basic weather, it hardly affects the environment or the player unless you have mods. And seasons would be another wonderful thing to have, where you'd have to prepare yourself for winter and stock up on food and supplies. Where trees won't grow during fall and winter but grow at a faster rate during spring.

The animals in Minecraft are everywhere, but there's only a few. Even though more have been added over the years, it still feels a bit empty. With an open world, we should have birds that fly around and disappear into trees. Bugs that crawl through the tall grasses and etc.

Weather should also have an effect, the worst weather effect we have in basic Minecraft is that during the rain monsters won't burn. Being in the snow for too long should debuff you at the very least. Rain should make it harder to see, storms should make harsh winds that can move your player around a bit.

Villager types and interactions are very limited as well. Sure they have different types of villages and villager jobs but we should have more. Villagers should have slightly different looks at least, and have different skin colors depending on the environment their in. People who live in the grasslands shouldn't have the same color as the ones who live in the deep desert. You should also be able to gain trust with villagers or be able to hire them to do things besides just trading with them.

    Visuals:

The point of minecraft is that it's supposed to have a simple charm. But with an addition like the 4k resolution announced at E3 and hiring pixel artists, it seems to be losing its charm and becoming a bit more... busy. People who wanted these textures and resolutions would add those with mods, shaderpacks and texture packs. Having it in the game itself seems a bit odd.

A Minecraft 2 should still not lose its charm, but that does not mean it should be exactly the same. There are texture packs that do make the game feel a bit better like sphax bd craft. We should have changed graphics for the base game but nothing that would make it high def. We could have better lighting, better rain effects on water, etc but nothing to make it Fallout 4 level.

The visuals should also affect the mobs as well, not every zombie and skeleton should look the same. Zombies should have clothes variation at least, and maybe wounds variation as well. Skeletons should have cracked bones or missing ribs etc.

    Story Mode --

People have been trying to figure out if base Minecraft has some kind of hidden lore/ story for awhile now. But none of it could really be proven since its all theory. Story mode could add a solution to this.

    Stories:

This doesn't mean Minecraft should be limited to one storyline. It could have multiple storylines for you to follow that could be selected. You would select a story, and then a story you'd like to do so it'd be listed like: "Miners dream story" "Nightmare story" "Eternal night story" "Random" etc. Stuff like this could allow you to roam the map, enter dungeons that have storylines or interact with villagers to find out whats happening and storyline of whats going on or has happened. This could include new NPCs and important characters that would be antagonists or side characters in the overall story. I don't mean "oh, Herobrine should be in this game" because we all know that Mojang probably doesn't have any plans for Herobrine in any games, but theirs always the possibility he or any other new type of mob or person could be added.

    Bosses and dungeons:

One of the things about Minecraft is that in the basic sandbox, once you get diamonds and enchantments it feels like you've won the game. You defeat the ender dragon and the wither and then you're done. In a storymode you could have story driven bosses or random bosses that could appear the farther you get from spawn.

Dungeons have always been a way to add a storyline, with hidden items and books or ancient texts that reveal old secrets. It could also add to the fun of Minecraft since one of the things I've always personally enjoyed about the game is getting lost in deep caves that connect to each other and the random dangerous drops. Dungeons could be similar to this that seem seemingly never ending and have special loot and interactions like traps and puzzles. Of course, the dungeon would be made of something that can't be broken or can't be broken until you've finished the dungeon that way people won't just dig to the end or easily escape.

    World differences:

For storylines, it could have the world changed then it would be in the base sandbox mode. "Miner's dream" could drastically increase cave frequency and length, and make mining villages or new types of villagers like dwarves. "Nightmare" could have a lot more mobs, and increased the length of the night or more bosses spawning and decrease the spawn rate of villages but be making the villages more defenced with high walls or stone buildings.

It could add more biome threats such as "tainted biome" that spreads a taint slowly but surely unless you defeat a boss in the biome or finish the storyline.

    Endings:

Like in the base game, it shouldn't have an ending that makes it you can't play anymore. But your ending choose should affect what you're left with when you end the storyline.

Example: Let's say the problem in the world is a taint that spreads across the surface, destroying the landscape. Perhaps if you take a long time, after you finish the storyline the world should have a lot of destroyed areas where the taint was taken away but still has had a permanent effect. Or maybe you instead decided to become part of it and rule it and instead increase its spread rate and become the villain. Or you try to rule it but don't have the required things to get that ending, and instead become a subject to it.

It should also affect how villagers interact with you. Such if you become a villain, in the end, they'll refuse to trade with you or actively avoid you. or if you become a hero they'll give you free stuff or help you with things for free, or perhaps make a home for you themselves near their village.

Two zombie villagers had a child, I thought logically it would turn into a zombie child since its parents are zombies and the parents would turn the baby into a zombie. Apparently not. I don't know if this is a bug or just something no one thought would happen.

posted a message on Steve: First advanced person ever or new one after a long time?

I was playing minecraft (Obviously) and was thinking about something while killing animals. The animals don't naturally run away from you or avoid you (Unless you have a mod for that, of course) and most just act like your a normal being. Now for most things I could just assume it's because they have no natural predator but sheep have a natural predator, wolves. So sheep should be more fearful of humans at least but are not.

Being that villagers are the only known inhabitants of the land, it's easy to tell that there's no humans that kill animals. Yet there are strange things such as abandoned mineshafts and well-built temples and of course the end portal and the various bookshelves around the place. Although villagers are capable of building fences for mineshafts and stone bricks they don't seem to show any signs of deep mining except for trading with blacksmiths.

Which begs the question, who built these things in the first place then? This has been a question for awhile and cannot be answered definitely yet but what I'm more concerned with, is Steve/Alex the first advanced human in existence in minecraftia or simply the first in a long time? The strange underground structures suggest that there were people, like Steve/Alex, who could build such complicated things but no sightings of people like that besides yourself (and maybe Herobrine I guess). But if there were humans, animals would be afraid of them since these advanced humans would be afraid of Steve/Alex but then if Steve/Alex is the first then who built the structures? Perhaps the advanced humans went into the end portals to defeat the ender dragon only to never return in the end of it? Perhaps taking on the form of the enderman we see today?

So is Steve/Alex the first one ever, are they the first in a long time after the last were wiped out (And if so, did Steve/Alex evolve from two villagers?)

For people who can't figure out how to become a baron:

    1. Make all your villagers happy (Five gold hearts for all of them I guess? I just gave them all diamond blocks in creative mode when I was testing stuff)

    2. Go to a librarian and go to special and they now have a button that says "Check happiness" this will tell you the happiness of the village.

    3. If the happiness is over 80% simply try to keep people happy and keep interacting with everyone. Eventually you'll get a prompt asking you if you want to become a baron and you can click yes or no.

I love this mod and most mods get boring for me after awhile but not this one. But one thing that I though should be added is like maybe charisma for the player? Like the more they have successful interactions with a villager the better of a chance they have with making more successful interactions.

posted a message on Looking for simple RP server

Looking for good roleplaying server that's not too complicated. A lot of the ones I want to join are either A) Creative Servers with roleplays that are good, but super laggy or b ) Role play servers that require a lot of rules and story reading just to join and understand how to go through everything, and in the end is a bit of a hassle.

I'd either like a creative roleplay server that isn't too laggy and is pretty good, or a good just roleplay server that isn't too overly complicated.

posted a message on What if the whole minecraft world is ment to destroy Steve/Alex?

There are zombies, skeletons, enderman, you know it, its evil AND will kill you on sight. But why?

There are a seemingly infinite amount of evil mobs, what if these are villagers or people before you, possibly even family, who have lived and died? And there are signs of people with unique building styles (The temples in the desert and jungle forest, not to mention the mineshafts) so people have come before you.

All the mines are abandoned, whether from miners dieing or giving up.

    We can theorize that:

A: The people who made the mineshafts, temples, etc were once players like you but died from zombies, skeletons, fall damage, age, etc.

B: The people gave up, retired, or found better life as villagers.

But Steve/Alex is unique from all of them with the power that he can respawn (Except in hardcore).

So what if all these horrible things are ment to destroy Steve, and to make him give up? To stop him from going deeper and deeper, going to the Nether, Going to the End, Killing the Wither...

Perhaps there is more to this minecraft world that the mobs simply don't want us to find out about,

Maybe its better if we didn't.

But then theres Hardcore, stuck on the hardest mode, one life.

The monsters know they only need to kill you once in this world, only one time and the world will be safe.

Until you destroy the world entirely and recreate the sequence of horror anew.
