    In response to your other comments, I would like to again point out that this guide is under construction and no where near finished. I add sections to this thread as I finish researching them, although I have made an effort to put up the parts that I feel are the most basic to texture making first. This is also why sections on such things as animating water and lava have not yet been added, as I don't feel that they are imperative to texture making. I apologize that an overview of editing programs has not yet been prepared-- I am still researching this particular section.

    Can't we halp you out? the thread could get done a little faster, thats how most of these things sometimes work, we give some materials to work with, then you can verify them and get things maybe done a little quicker. i don't care if i get any credit for helping out, as long as people read this and are happy with all of the info to help them out. i'm happy as well. (although other people may think otherwise on crediting.)

    There is no dragon statue, as far as I know.

    The 'xporb' texture is the base for the glowing experience orbs-- the pulsing color is added to the xporb base by the game.

    And I'll make a book template for you as soon as I can. :smile.gif:

    So the green overlay for the xporb texture is hard coded?

    That "What is this?" is a currently unused texture that used to occupy the bottom of the cart while it was storing items before storage carts were introduced for the same purpose.

    Thank you, one step closer to making a texture pack

    Could I have a quick tutorial on books please?
    I think I know how to do some of it, but its a heck annoying.
    EDIT: Not the item icon, the one used on the Enchantment Table.

    that was one of the ones i was wondering too. and the xporb texture. which leads to another question on this thread... is the xporb texture part of the ender dragon regenerating statue?

    The poll says "Motivational or Demotivational", and the options are "yes" and "no", that's hilarious. And also, "Exspand" isn't a word.

    Ok fixed and fixed. Thanks for the help.

    Finally fixed them up.
    so i used the code and made the images.

    Red=Top
    Light Green=Bottom
    Blue=Left
    purple=Face
    Dark Green=Right
    Orange=Back

    now i'm not sure if these are 100% acurate so you may need to check them.

    i think we may want people to help out, i actualy have templates that can give you for the big items which were made before 1.8 released, (robothacker gets some credit for giving me the code for the items) so i don't have the book or xporb items made, and there is one segment of the minecart i don't know where it goes.

    which leads me to a question that makes me sound like a noob... how do i post images on here?

    I find the system to cause a good deal of detriment to people involved. The students don't stand to gain anything from a subject they don't want to take, yet it makes them take subjects like that anyway. In my experience as someone with all As, 4.0 GPA unweighted, I go through my classes, do all the work, and invest more energy into what interests me. What doesn't interest me I put forth my lowest effort needed to still get an A. I learn what I can, but the knowledge doesn't really stick past the final exams, which is when I blow things like Biology honors over on things like programming and writing; things I actually derive enjoyment from and plan upon applying in my life. Yet I have to wade through things like Biology and other sciences when I would benefit more from specializing in another field, one that actually contributes to my happiness. I'm a 14-year-old Sophomore in High School taking classes that are predominantly composed of Juniors, and quite personally, I could be somewhere much farther, probably dealing with college-level mathematics, English, Philosophy, and French things that would appeal to who I am, if I had it my way. I don't mean to make the "When will I ever use this?" excuse... but the fact is, I don't plan upon using Biology in my life, that's a decision made by someone who has limited their career choices to several that would mutually appease my intellectual needs based upon who I am.

    wowcouldn'td'nt say it as good as this. this actuallyualy one of the thingthoughtught about tinteresterst affects the grades, i love technological things, so classes like web design and computer drafting are classes i do well on. so they get higher grades, things like history biologyligy arnt in my interests but i went/go through those classes as best as i can.

    Or you have 20% less to act as a buffer between you and a failure.

    I don't think there is anything wrong with the system personally, I think the problem lies mostly in the students.

    you know, i think i need to change the question, is the gradeing system motavational to make the student learn more about the subject. i've noticed most classes that unless it's an elective or the teacher is realy good, most student don't want to exspand the knowlage of a subject. they just do the work, turn it in and thats it.

    there is a thread from robothacker who made all of the mob skins (even one for the Charlotte mode), he actually told me how the big items were planned out before the advanced storage chest, i think he might help you guys out with expanding the mob and item subjects.

    Are you trying to get us to do your homework for you? :ohmy.gif:

    yes and no, it's kind of a survay based thing, usualy on a reserch project anything towards the human oppinion needs alot of people. i just want to see what people think of the US gradeing system. (i think i should add a poll on this thread...) i already got 5 responses from my school on what they think about it. i just have one oppinion, and besides, the thread would only be maby help with only 1/5 of the project at most. the rest is reaserch which i can do on my own.

    (sorry for the bad spelling, the spell check is glitching.)

    So I'm doing a research project on if the US Grading System (the A-F system to be exact.) now to me it feels demotivational because even if you get a B in the class, we don't do extra credit because your at a satesfactory grade, when in the long run, you can do alot more and maby get an easier acsess to higher education if your in high school. now i did find ways to make it better like useing the RPG experience point system, but i want to hear from you guys. is the US grading system motivational or demotivational to encourage self learning and why? and if so what changes do you want to make to this system? and by demotovational dosnt mean a negitive reaction, it also means passive about the subject.

    posted a message on Suggestion; Adjustable 3-D anaglyph
    i was just looking for a thread concerning this. I have to agree with the double image part, mostly happens around when dark colors overlay the bright colors, and i see two cross-hairs instead of one. If someone makes a mod with a color changer and also a way to adjust the distance between the two cameras, (I'm pointing this out because of the newly implemented field of view adjustment.) that would be nice. and to make things less a hassle, if someone made the game screen adjust while at the same time the player is adjusting the 3-D themselves. helps get it picture perfect. Sadly i wish i was a modder to fix this up... :sad.gif:

    ok so your code post about the block based items that i asked earlier were real helpful (aka the minecart and such), but if you can, can you make image templates of them and add them to the list? That would be helpful.
