    I need help picking!

    1) Original dirt, new top grass
    2) Original
    3) New dirt, original coloring
    4) New dirt, half-way between original and orange coloring
    5) New dirt, orange coloring

    I personally like 3 or 4 but Lilyo says my first one was the best.
    Also, I request an extension of a week or so for more time to work on the contest. There are some serious contenders in here and it'd be a shame to see people lose just because they didn't have time during one week to get it done (cough).

    I just keep restarting when I'm not happy with what I have. Here's the latest iteration of grassy stuff.

    Stone is WIP, it doesn't tile.

    Blam, didn't have much time today cos my parents just got back from Japan, buuuuuuut:

    Not sure about the yellow flowers, I might have to redo them or at least tweak them a lot. :rolleyes:

    EDIT: Next up will be stone bricks, birch trees and crafting table. Then it's doors.

    PS: Thanks for getting rid of the time limit, Feathers!

    EDIT 2: Hey feathers, how many colours are allowed for each part of the chest? I have a great idea for it but I don't think it will work with the colour limitations. (I need to have metal on wood)

    So how does the exception work for chests?

    That is delicious and if you finish it properly I will use it as my primary pack. Good luck. Also, Strdr, your stuff is looking awesome. I think this contest is going to produce some very quality packs. I really need to get going on mine.

    Well, my internet was down for about seven hours yesterday so I didn't get a chance to post what I was able to sneak in. I don't think I'll finish, I'm horrible at this.

    I'm going to get in on this but I don't have any time at all. If the deadline were extended another week maybe I'd be able to make it. Oh well, I'll try anyway with the little time I have.

    After doing quite a bit for this pack, I felt inspired to expand my pixel art horizons. I think I'll be doing an iPhone game with my buddy, a 2D platformer with a retro pixel art style. Concept sprites:

    ****ing hell, I love the items you guys are throwing in. I don't know if Galago told you but I've spoken to him about how Art School has really taken my soul. Since I went back, I've been on one project after the next (if not on multiple projects at one time). I occasionally find time to throw a few pixels up (mostly adding more detail to previous tools) but so far nothing too significant. I'll be back very soon to continue working on this great pack. Love the GUI, love the new items. Leo's really got an awesome style. I'd like to go back over mine and adapt some of his techniques.

    Actually, our items are being done by CowThing.

    We invite you to work with us regardless, however!

    I am 100% with Lilyo on the dark/light concept. Leo's version looks ace, but it's waaaay off the original feel we were going with (Indiana Jones-esque adventure style). The new glass is okay, though. Foliage color is a negative, makes our pack too 'rpg' and gloomy. I respect that in SMP's pack because that was his deliberate style, but it's just too out of place in ours. New stone look good saturated though.

    On the left, we have the originals planks.
    Central are Leo's version.
    On the right is a redone version of the original planks.

    I "redid" them simply by taking a vertical plank version we already had stuffed in the alts, adding a horizontal stripe, and adjusting the color. Do you like them more?

    Well I apparently got some time before I'm leaving at around 2 or something so yeah. Quick response to ..um everything lol

    @planks
    I know those are Leo's old planks which I see he edited a bit but I really don't think they match the pack at all as he gives all of his textures a damn purple hue cause of the shadows which just doesn't work well with the other textures.

    @darker stone
    I don't know how much darker it is as it's sort of hard to tell from the screenshots without seeing the old one as well. The reason the stone is light is because it compliments the darker dirt. Dark next to dark doesn't work well. I'm all up for a slight change in the saturation though.

    @lapis
    There's quite a big difference between it and the diamond colors and if we change it to a deeper blue then we'll have to change the damn lapis block as well which would look like **** as deep blue.

    @note block
    No offence but it looks extremely generic and boring. What you made some black dots and a opening at the top lol? Come on we can do better than that :tongue.gif:

    @TNT
    I really like stuff like the rope and the sticks themselves look ok, but again it looks sort of generic, and like we said before, we really want to give the users something interesting and unique to play with, otherwise they could just use one of the other dozen better texture packs. It would look better if it was placed in a wooden crate and there was some differentiation between the sticks.

    @Diamond
    Looks great, though it could be a bit more blue. I thought it was an iron block at first.

    @repeaters
    They could have some cool designs on them like the stone slabs or something running along the two sides parallel the torches.

    @Tools
    Awesome to see you back dirty :biggrin.gif:
    The tools look awesome, just change the hue to be more similar to what the diamond is right now. Also, do you have a steam account?

    @Iron
    It looks really confusing and sort of sprawled about awkwardly. First of all, they're too big, the colors are weird, and the lighting seems off. I'm not sure if they're supposed to be indented or sticking out. They should be smaller like the lapis or something.

    I'll respond to your responses. :tongue.gif:
    @@Planks Let's give the old ones, which had a more unique flavor, more depth to bring them up to quality with the rest of the pack. Then it's really just up to personal preference with the customizer.

    @@Lapis I'd like to distinguish lapis not because it's similar to diamond as much as it's totally off from legit lapis color. Thim's recolor is really good, hold your judgement until you see it.

    @@Note Aww, I liked my note block. The top is kind of cracked, I think it looks alright.

    It's definitely not creative or unique though, because neither Leo nor myself could come up with anything creative. A record player wouldn't be bad, I guess.

    @@TNT I think my TNT is decently made, but I know it's generic. It was intended to be a generic bundle of dynamite. I was also thinking about doing a crate edition. The more things in the customizer the better as long as they're well done.

    @@Diamond Agree with the color change, it does look a little iron-esque when you mention it.

    @@Repeaters I'll add those as an alt. My current repeaters are pretty standard but they look okay.

    @@Tools Dido.

    @@Iron I agree, my iron is horrible.
