Whats a terminal? i dont get how to put in the java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar could some one please help?
Terminal is the mac equivalent to PC's cmd window. A quick spotlight search will find it for you. However, as you can see in my post, doing this did not help, so you and I are in the same boat: Waiting for the creator of the program to help us get it running.
I have combed through many many pages of this thread, trying different things that seemed related to my issue, but have not been able to get this thing working. Here is the requested information that I was able to obtain:
- Operating System: OSX 10.6.8
- Java Version: 13.9.2
- Minecraft Version: 1.4.7
- Minecraft version you were using when you made your map. (If needed): N/A
- AMIDST Version: Whichever is the most recent as of 03/04/13 (By this I mean I clicked the ad-free download link for both the .app and .jar versions found in the OP, so whichever versions were linked to these two links on 3/4/13, that is the version I have.)
- Error log: Not sure where to get this, as I have yet to even get the program to open.
- Seed (If needed): N/A
- A detailed description of what happened:
So I downloaded the .app version, tried to run it, and got the error message "Amidst ran in .jar mode without -verify! Use: java -noverify -jar AMIDST.jar" Typing this into Terminal achieved no change. Message was received: "Unable to access jarfile AMIDST.jar". I found that someone had success solving this issue by placing the .app in their root directory. Trying this achieved no change. I also tried changing the file directory from .app to .jar, and then retrying the terminal, but still got "unable to access jarfile AMIDST.jar".
I then tried the .jar version, to the same end. Trying all the previously mentioned troubleshooting steps also achieved no change for the .jar version. I am at a loss. I hope I have provided enough information to assist in solving this issue, as I would like to try this program out a bit. Please let me know if there is any other information that is needed.
Is anyone leet enough to beat this without dying? Let me know if you are one such player. Video evidence would gain you a direct link to your youtube page as well as the video being featured on the original post for this thread.
Not sure what you mean exactly, Avantir...the two people who chose to post their reviews are each their own person who have each played my map and liked it. What gives you the impression that I would do such a thing? I'm sure that as you play the map, you will realize that I have no reason to do this. Welcome to The Crawl. If you are the type who loves a good old fashioned dungeon crawl, this is the map for you! Traverse through dark, narrow hallways, fighting off a variety of mobs as you try hopelessly not to get lost. You will be presented with a list of objectives that you must complete in order to achieve a rank of either Bronze, Silver, or Gold.
Encounter dead-end after dead-end. Stumble upon rooms whose doors have not been opened for centuries, housing all manner of ghoulish creatures, hungry for your flesh. For the crafty adventurer, unique items wait to be found and put to use against the horde housed within these walls.
Steel yourself! This place is not for the feint of heart. Ready your resolve and plunge forward, often having to earn your right to look back. Discover hidden treasures and purge these long forgotten ruins on your quest to find your way to the end.

These few simple rules have been put into place to enhance the fun experience one will find within this map. They have not been made to cause an annoyance, rather to ensure that it is a challenge. For that reason, follow the rules. Don't be cheap. You're only cheating yourself if you do cheat, so keep that in mind. :smile.gif:
You may only break webs, spawners, and chests.
Don't use mods like xray, single player commands, too many items and the like.
Don't spawn items to help you.
Redstone torches are for lighting only. Nothing else.
Don't put out fires you didn't start.
No placing blocks. This includes chests. (The only exception to this rule in terms of placing chests is to place a chest back where you found it after breaking it.)
It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway: This map is designed to be played on any difficulty higher than peaceful. I suppose if your only interest is running the maze, that is your prerogative, however it is intended to be played as a dungeon crawl, meaning you should be fighting mobs.
1) Download the Map from mediafire.com (Link Given)
2) Put the .zip file on your desktop (or somewhere where you can easily find it again.)
3) Press Start, and type in %appdata%. Click into Roaming. *XP - Press Start, Run, then %appdata%. Click into Roaming.
4) Go into .minecraft/saves.
5) Unzip (your map) Folder (already done) and place the unzipped folder into the saves folder.
6) Play and Enjoy!
Mac
1) Download the map from mediafire.com (Link Given)

4) Rename the current world folder with something relevant to that map. e.g if it has a Castle, rename it Castle.
5) Paste (your map) folder into the minecraft server directory.
6) Rename the folder to world.
7) Run the Server and Play!

You know, I have the same problem with this mod, and I see that it was never resolved. I first tried installing this mod with modloader, audiomod, rei's minimap and mcpatcher installed while using Sphax PureBDCraft texture pack, which supposedly supports this mod, but got a black screen. I then started with a fresh bin and installed only modloader, mcpatcher and audiomod, leaving out the texture pack, but still get a black screen. I have followed all instructions given in the .txt file provided within the download for this mod to no avail. I then searched for other instructions, all of which gave the same steps as the .txt file. my META-INF folder was deleted ages ago, and is not a factor in this equation. Some help would be appreciated.
Wasn't really trying to start an argument, sorry. I still believe that I was not outwardly disrespectful to anyone, but it's fine. I'm not interested in coming back partially due to what happened, and partially due to the caliber of players I've seen on your server. it seems ppl there are more interested in causing grief for other players than mutually enjoying a gaming experience with them. For this reason more than any other, I don't think I'll require any ban to be removed, considering the ban didn't take place until after I left anyway. Wouldn't even have known it happened if it hadn't been mentioned here. Have a good one.

And it's funny how you say I was 'constantly swearing at people', when in fact I wasn't, and muted me, while 30 minutes to an hour prior to this incident, LockNLoad went on a tirade for 20 minutes saying every swear word in the book, with absolutely NO such response to his actions. I even sent you a message specifically asking you to tone him down, which you ignored. Real bad lie you told, but yeah...life goes on. There are plenty of other servers I can have fun on.
Gahzi. This is a PvP server. You were killed and you asked for Admin intervention. We can't do that. You would not stop cussing me out, nor would you listen to me. I asked to be talked to like a person- you could not do this so I muted you. We are not here to be your punching bag.
When you disrespect people by cussing at them constantly when you have a problem there is no excuse. You were banned because you were NOT able to restrain yourself long enough to have a civil conversation. You are held to the same standard as everyone else.

You are incorrect. I did not once ask for intervention. I asked for clarification as to whether or not griefing was allowed. Also, never once did I swear at anyone during my time on this server, so thanks for your outright slander. The only thing I said was ver-batum: "Sorry Dom, but this server was awesome until now" and I was muted. Either you are slandering me, or you confused me with someone else who was mad about the spawn camp you allowed. I did not say one ill word to you or anyone else during the course of that spawn camp. I simply voiced my displeasure in the manner I just described. I'm much more thought out than to spew curses at people over a video game. Get your facts straight.
Correction, I did say one single swear word in anger right before leaving your server for good, I will give you that, but this was well after being muted for 10 minutes with no explanation.
Muting someone for voicing an opinion is something I view as an abuse of admin powers. Just because you don't like me saying your server was cool until now does not make it ok for you to do that. I really didn't appreciate it, and as a result, I will not be joining your server again, which I'm sure you don't really care about, but perhaps others reading this will be turned away now, knowing that it's possible it may happen to them. Voicing an opinion is not being a 'smartass' as you put it, regardless of whether or not you like the opinion voiced.
I highly recommend others looking at this server as a possible place for them consider looking elsewhere.
Demon, you never did anything wrong to me, and in fact, you were pretty cool, but your fellow admins ruined my gameplay experience on your server, so I'm sorry to post this, as it affects you, but there isn't much else I can do. It really wasn't ok what happened.
