posted a message on Slime Spawning

I wasn't suggesting that the fix to slime spawns would change what chunk that they spawn in, only that there is an issue with the spawns that has been acknowledged by 4J . I feel like by the look the responses to my comments , that they are somehow being received as confrontational. They are not.

Not sure about after tu31 but I use to keep all wool so people could get the achievement. It use to work so you just had to mine it off the ground to get it. If so try a shepard villager if you have one and buy the brown wool from him. He sells all colors. I killed villagers so they would breed more until I got a shepard.

If testing a superflat for slime spawning, I believe you have to flip it into survival now to get them to spawn. I think 4J basically disabled slimes spawning in superflat worlds in creative mode (a number of people requested it).. At least the last time I tried it (just before TU31), I didn't get any spawning until I flipped into survival mode. Not sure whether regular worlds are affected the same way as superflats.

As for Chunkbase being out on whether some chunks are slime chunks or not... I think it's Chunkbase that needs to fix their algorithms. It's not 4J's responsibility to match Chunkbase... It's Chunkbase's responsibility to adapt to differences between the consoles and PC to match their app to 4J.

I fully agree that 4j has nothing to do with chunkbase, and that it is not 4j's fault whether or not slimes are spawning where chunkbase said they would. I personally have a successful slime farm and am not complaining about the lack of spawns other people are experiencing. But there are undoubtedly many bugs that need fixing , including as admitted in 4j's tu32 change log, slime spawns.

FYI there was something wrong enough that 4J has queued up a fix for the following slime related issue: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCCE-962

The best way to check Chunk base (which has been accurate for me on the chunks I've tried for my current seed) is to start a super-flat world using your seed. Slime chunks will be the same in super-flat and you'll be able to isolate them better.

Any huge project like rboxman suggested should be tried in creative first if you know you are going to be pissed when it doesn't work. Chunk base led me astray on my newest tu31 seed but thankfully slimes were spawning in the next chunk over and moving the farm wasn't a huge deal. If you know you are in a slime chunk... I have had success getting them to spawn by riding a fast minecart 150 or 200 blocks away staying there for a five or so min then riding the cart back down to the farm. They often are there waiting when I get there. No matter what a website says you can't really be sure you are in a slime chunk until you see one spawn. Soo maybe start at the bottom next time you dig out a slime farm. Also they need to hurry up with all the bug fixes.

Thanks for the reply. So if I understand you correctly , if I create a brand new large world on Xbox one it will be the same size nether as the classic size on 360? Or does the smaller nether size only apply when expanding a new world?

Perfect, Thank you so much. I now have a job to do. I tried this before tu31 and after a very long time searching for the book, the anvil would not place the enchantment on shears.Gotta go kill some villagers now . Thanks again.

posted a message on When you expand an existing world

When you expand an existing world from xbox 360 classic to large after transferring the world to xbox one from 360 , will the Nether expand as well? Also is the Nether bigger at all when you newly generate a world as compared to 360's nether size. Thanks to everybody with some insight.

My bad guys. I guess I should have been more specific. If you have personally had a tool that can harvest a cobweb as a block in survival, since the tu31 update, please let me know.

The wiki is generally answers based in pc version. The wiki said the same thing pre tu31 and it didn't work then. Thanks for the reply though.
