Hello. I am looking to rent a FTB server that can handle up to a dozen people. All of us are in North America, so a host that has data centers in the US or Canada is very much preferred. Also, I'd like a host that is willing to import a backup I've made of our current map and settings as we've had some major communication and downtime issues with our current host and want to move.
Please leave a reply here with your suggested plan, costs, and physical data center location. Thanks!
Oh I like that idea...but...my SMP server doesn't allow minecarts.
I tried experimenting with pulser circuits (3 sec and 5 sec) connected to an AND switch so they'd meet up every 15 secs...but very quickly got in over my head.
What I want to do is have the north set light up for 15 sec, then turn off and the east one turn on for 15 sec. Round and round. Like a messed up clock.
How would I go about doing that? What circuit types, etc. Not expecting anyone to build one for me, just need a nudge in the right direction. Thanks!
1. How long have you played Minecraft? Over a year
2. Location: Indiana, USA
3. Age: 29, 30 in June
4. Amount of time you spend playing weekly? Anywhere between 0 and 20 hours, depending on family
5. Do you have a mic/use TeamSpeak? As needed, yep
6. Have you ever been banned or kicked from a server? Nope
7. Pictures(if any) of your greatest builds and/or any other info about yourself you feel like sharing! No pictures unfortunatly, but I have been a junior moderator on another server (pm me if you want to know which one). Totally not a rule breaker, if anything I get on people that do break them.
8. Finally your IGN(In Game Name): gstark1
Bear in mind glass will let in light, which may (read; probably) will affect the spawning rates.
Will affect spawn rate, unless you have a big enough room that the middle around the spawner is dark.
I suggest using stairs configured in such a way that you can see through the gaps. Skeletons can see you, but the water will push them where you need them to go (either a drop or water elevator, I'm guessing.) The gaps in the stairs will not let light through.
Hi all, I'm looking for some advice for a build I'm planning for an SMP server.
I want to construct a large glass dome in a desert biome and teraform the interior. The teraforming will be pretty simple thanks to plugins, but constructing the dome is making my head hurt. The following questions keep popping up:
How tall should I make the dome? Thinking...40ish?
How wide? Maybe around 100 diameter
How do I curve the edges, as this isn't a perfect sphere?
And a bonus question: Grasslands or snow inside?
Any tips, suggestions, and guidance is greatly appreciated.
I've taken a break from MC and have returned, and found joy in playing "survival island" seeds. I'm finding while it's very fun to have limited resources, it's also very easy to get bored again once I've got myself a sustainable resource of trees and food.
What goals do you guys aim for when you play these types of maps? I'm working with one right now that I've found abandoned mineshafts very close to my main mine, the other has a nice cavern system, and another has mainland not far from it which kinda kills the fun a bit.

WorldGuard
LWC (or similar)
an active economy
anti-griefing
An earned ranking system (not purchased)
Anything else is gravy. If you reply here, please post your server website/forums and any other information you feel is relevant. Thanks!

Light up all the caves in the area...talking up to 150x150 area. Yes that's a pain.

Here's several ideas for the grinder section: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Tutorials/Mob_Grinder
