I think you should make the map a little bit bigger. My friends kept getting killed early because they didn't have anywhere to run, maybe you can make the map support more players?

It's not meant to be a big map. With my friends, we had plenty of places to go. The sewer is always a good place to go, then you can duck through buildings.. but it's meant to have quick games.
That said, I'd had very long games before on this map.

I think my next map is going to be bigger, but it will have teams, it won't be hunger games style.

This map has so much potential, my boy. Maybe you should try to make a system that allows choosing one map out of a list!

Yeah, I'll add that now. Just making sure there's interest before I start doing more!
    Edit: Added!

This map is super cool and really fun with them some creative items. I've played many times on this map and I find new items everytime. The building are extremely good for PVP, with many hiding spots and the map is small enough that games go quickly with out spawning in people's faces. This map is great for free for all or team games. this map gets a 10/10.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Fwacer presents...

The Dome v.1.0 - PVP Map

    Information:

This is a PVP map, for two to as many players as you wish!
Easy numbers: 2, 3, 4, 8. (There are four corners)

This is intended as a free-for-all Hunger Games-type map.
There are items scattered throughout the Dome, hidden in various chests. You may craft weapons by using the crafting bench in the centre fountain.
You may change rules to suit your purposes.

This map was made to be an easy game type that anyone can pick up. You simply step on your pressure plate and go! Even if you are not the best player, anyone can win. This is an even playing field.

    Screenies / Videos:

I have put a lot of hours into this map, so if you play it, I would love it if you linked me to a video of it!
    Here are some screenies! (14)

Or, click here to go to the Photobucket album.

    Download:

Here is a link to the downloads folder: (Mediafire)

The folder contains four versions of the map. (Each in .zip)
Normal: There are hidden chests, and you can choose to spectate. (Creative mode and invisible)
No Chests: If you do not want to reset the map each game, and don't want the unfair advantages of the chests, choose this one! Everyone has the same equipment.
No Spectating: If you do not trust your "friends" to not grief in spectator mode, choose this one.
No Chests or Spectating: See above.

** Make sure "enable-command-block" is set to "true" in the server properties, or the map will not work!

Realized a problem with this. When you add the objective back, it doesn't set everyone who had the score of 1 in PlayersLeft back to 1..
So, I'm just going to add them to the team "Dead" and have the team colour be "strikethrough".

Ah, true, I hadn't thought of that, Emeraldfyr3. Yeah, as Peterc1's example points out, that's not that bad at all.
I think I'll go with that, thanks guys!

Wouldn't that result in the sidebar flashing every time this clock ran? Too distracting, I think.
Your idea does make sense, and could work. I think I'll just either deal with them remaining on the scoreboard, or else I may have to remove all of their stats when they die, which would be unfortunate.
Thanks for the input, guys, hopefully Mojang will someday add the ability to reset a single score for a certain player.

posted a message on Removing a player from a single scoreboard objective?
Hey, I'm in the process of making a custom pvp map in 1.6.2, which is almost done. I ran into a slight complication at the end.
So, I'm trying to have the sidebar list all the players that are still alive. When a player joins a team, their "PlayersLeft" score is set to 1.
When they die, I'm currently having it do something similar to this:
    /scoreboard players remove @p PlayersLeft 1

That simply sets their score to 0, so I tried this:
    /scoreboard players set @p PlayersLeft 0

Same thing. Yes, it sets the score to zero, but their name remains in the sidebar, just with the score of 0. I want their score for this objective to be completely reset, so only players with the score of 1 are on the sidebar.

The next thing I tried was:
    /scoreboard players reset @p

This resets all of their scores, which I don't want, because I have a kill counter among other things.
Note: It does not let you add anything after @p in the latest command, or it simply turns up as invalid.

I've done a little bit of googling, to no avail. Hope that someone can help me out, or else I'll have to live with them remaining on the scoreboard.

That's extremely vague. If you want help, you need to post pictures or at least link to a video.
And some redstone mechanisms are broken with updates, perhaps this is the case here.

    Quote from Theriasis

    "Well it's expensive!"

Kinda the same thing as the "it can rare" excuse. When people start bashing your suggestion about "a wand that can control any mob to your will" isn't gonna be magically saved by mentioning that it "uses 4 blocks of diamond to make it!" No. It doesn't and will never work that way. Hostile mobs are what add actual challenge to the game, so having something that can control any mob won't be the best addition (and would ruin it for the utility mobs we already have), and trying to buff up the crafting reciple of it will not turn the suggestion from christ-awful all the way up to best-idea-ever status. Don't make this mistake.

    "It can be ignored!"

Potion of jumping is made with spider eye and allows players to jump 1 extra block.

There is already the poison potion made with this. Did you mean a spider eye on your clear potion?
    Quote from Coyfish40 »

Now we shall move on to the sparkling potion. It is made with glowstone dust.
This makes a thick potion already, unless you mean you want to replace it.

Please read this before posting further suggestions.
