Fury!! jesus it's been forever!
See, I don't actually know what server to play on. I'd like to come back to CoM, but I don't like Tekkit or FTB, and I don't see any vanilla server unless I'm just blind.
Plus, I'm now a moderator on the official EQD creative server and in the next few days I'm gonna start being the owner of a brand-new survival server (the setup of which I'm basing around how the Unnamed was run; that's why I got nostalgic and came her in the first place).
Crazy thought: I'd be honored to have you as one of my staff, Fury. If you're too busy, that's 100% understandable xD but I could use more moderators for sure. <3

That map was indeed great! I am quite busy at the moment with another server Ganelon,but if you pm me the ip (I believe it is the Equestria server, am I correct?) Give me a heads up whenever you are online and I'll come visit! Love the MyLittlePony feature if I might say so !
The last living citizen/leader of MU was Mith, so you might want to check with him of it's existence (from my understanding, it died out almost 14 months ago).
TWC based on region can be bad. I recently moved to the West coast and was in hope of keeping my TWC account (since on the East coast, the speed was great) turned out TWC does not like the West Coast that much, and I had to make the switch to Comcast.
I am satisfied with my recent change faster speeds for far less on the packages.
If you haven't already, try some custom maps with your friends such as The Walls 2 or Wrath of the Fallen there are so many possibilities to what you can do in Minecraft.
Whether or not this will work with 1.4.2 is up in the air. Mob Disguise is a multiplayer mod, and even though you do /md mobname, your player model won't change, only those around you will see it so shapeshifting in single player can be pointless.
This mod should allow you to accomplish such a thing in Singleplayer.
Does it give you a message? Also, are you at where you spawned at? Sometimes, some plugins will region protect the spawn area, keeping you from being able to build/destroy blocks.
Diamonds to me are valuable but I never use them for tool-making. My most common tools would have to be that of iron, so that situations such as yourself never occur where you're put into a situation that you might lose it

Does it still work fine in Multiplayer? Most of the problems with elevators persist in Multiplayer.
