Maybe weather in the nether is fire tornadoes? They are real, and happen during severe firestorms, such as the ones that happen here in California, when extreme winds mix with fire. They're scary as ****, and suit the nether nicely.

As most of you know, in the 1.2 beta update notch added charcoal, which is just coal with a new name. But I have an idea. What if you could put charcoal into the armor slot,(the charcoal piece would disappear) and you'd have some of that cool face paint soldiers and baseball players wear. It would work on any skin, but provide something more then aesthetics. It would make you see at a lower light level during the day, but at dusk, your light level goes down much slower. Why? Well, as you know, our eyes must adjust to the lower light levels by producing the chemical I forget because I wasn't paying attention in science. The chemical gets bleached out in sunlight, buy the eye produces it again and it gets restored in about 20 minutes. But because your eyes weren't exposed to direct sunlight, the chemical is still somewhat, meaning your light level goes down slower. Please tell me what should be added, removed, and the name of that chemical.
Actually adding items to a game that don't do anything new wastes coding time and makes the game feel bloated and padded.
They might be useful for new crafting recipes. And they don't make the game feel bloated and padded, they make it feel refined and polished. Anyway, your almost always telling people their ideas suck, so I don't give your posts much credit at all.
Finally, someone else who's agnostic! Even if it is over the internet...but at least I know I'm not alone (My parents aren't even agnostic.)
And Solomon, ignore any bigoted, anti-Muslim comments. I simply don't understand people who are anti-Muslim.
I think that a torch would do the same purpose, but better. If you hold one in your hand and it lights up, then you have to go into darkness to fight or mine.
I like the idea except for a few things. First: I don't think there should be a window. It should be more like a blast door rather then a normal one. Second: Rather then open like a normal door, it slides forward, then to the left (Forward being the side flush with the wall). They also couldn't be punched (I think the same should be done to obsidian, that obsidian can't be destroyed by anything but a pick, and only harvested with diamond). Lastly, It can only be activated by redstone from the back or below (Back being the side not flush with the wall.) I support, though!
I agree, this is not fair that you luckless beta purchasers had to pay more money for a game that isn't even finished yet, and now have to buy it again when it is actually released. But, I assume this is the way notch wanted it, and I doubt they would even read the forums for complaints. So it would probably be best to hit him up on getsatisfaction.
THey don't have to pay for the full game, just for any expansions.
The reason why no tools is because obsidian is very brittle. If you tried an obsidian pick, it would break. And the names of the weapons are names of actual weapons.
I understand with what your saying. The only reason I said it drops nine is so it can be recrafted into a normal obsidian block even just by mining one.
