Can you re do the download link, it doesn't work for me. It says that the file is not available. I want to put this on a box, and burn the launcher for the mac, pc, and linux version to a disc and put it in there!
So... I am a mac user who wants to set up a server to have his friends play. After doing a test run (after months on trying to figure out how to do this) of hosting a server on my mac (which has been used for years and has stuff on it) I saw predictable lag, bad performance ect. So I have a few questions: Is there a good/decent server hoster site that is free/affordable on a $10 allowance? If yes, how do I edit things on that server from my end? (more than likely, the server hosting place is not somewhere I can drive) ex on what I want to edit: op status, being admin ect. Also, how do I download/install server mods? I know this is a lot to ask, but all the sites I go to are all in Programmer Jargon, and even though I want to go to college to learn how to program, I don't know these things yet. Thanks in advance!
I gifted a copy of the game to my friend, Username: Pikachu15eevee, but it hasnt gone through, I also might have misspelled his username. Is there a way to fix this (my mom has the paypal account and I dont want to bother her again!) Does caps count when you are gifting a game?
I read all of the first post, but I want to know something: Is Notch still dropping support for Mac, I just bought it last month, and heard about it this month, and am a diehard mac user. I don't ever want to switch over, and no minecraft for mac would suck. Did he say something to the effect that he was reconsidering? Its not on the list, but people might have missed it.
I am listining to an older episode of a minecraft podcast and the hosts said that Notch is dropping support for mac soon. Is this still true? If so i'm screwed, because I have no intrest in buying a PC. He said his reason is that Apple is pushing HTML5 and getting rid of java, but shortly after the news of no more java for mac, Apple donated money towards some java thing, thus showing there will be more support for java. Please respond, I just got the game a month ago, and I want to continue to play it!
My friend just got minecraft and I am trying to set up a server. However, I dont want the snow world that is generated. I am using the ReasoN mac OS X server hoster tool, and I want to know the command to spawn a new world. Also, if i am the server hoster, and thus the admin, how do I spawn blocks for myself, i can spawn blocks using give, but it puts it in front of me and only gives me one instead of the many i want. Please help
So I bought Minecraft last sunday, and was playing it at my moms house (parents divorced) on an intel iMac, one generation behind. Everything ran fine, except I wasn't getting good worlds, but that isn't really an issue. Now i am at my dads house, which is a somewhat old, Mac Pro, no intel, running leopard. I install minecraft, and am greeted to a red background on the main menu. I thought "this is odd, was there a new update?" so i checked Notch's blog. No new update. So I decide to load a world. when it loaded, everything had a red or purple or orange tint to it. The monitor is fine, it can see a wide range of colors, like the smilies on the side when you are typing a new topic at this forum. What is the issue, and how can I solve it? Also, I didn't see my save file from my moms house on minecraft, does it not sync between computers, because I thought I read that it did somewhere.
