Try using the Yogbox pack, or maybe the Hack/Mine pack in the Tekkit Launcher. Hack/Mine is good if you want an RPG feel. Yoygbox also has Minecolony, which is pretty fun.
I have a Pickaxe of the Core (look it up on yogbox wiki) so for every one stack of cobblestone I mine, I get pretty much 9 stacks. Pretty crazy right? So I use it for roads, trade it with Norman Villagers and stuff. It can be useful when using mods and such I suppose.
Thank you guys. You don't know how much seeing these comments makes me happy. Its comments like this that will help me know that there is a point to what I am doing even when it feels like grinding. Stone structures feel a lot less grinding like though because atleast you can mine cobble at diamond level and find other cool things. Sandstone is just so grulling to work with it large amounts.
I feel your pain haha. I had to get as much as a stack of sand to fill in a few spots in my storage room >.<
I don't mind too much losing tools because I never enchant them besides for use with silk touch and stuff. But then again, I play tekkit so diamonds are around every corner hehe.
Possibly try re-designing the entire thing like ripping the old one out and putting in a new one? I suggest making a 4x8 pad of wheat with water at one end help up by powered pistons. Then, when you harvest you pull a switch, taking the power away from the pistons and making it flow over the wheat so it gets pushed to the very end of the pad and falls off. This will make sure the water stops just before the end of the 4x8 and you can make as many 4x8's as you want, just make it go one layer lower each time. Hope this kind of helped
I suggest working back in your old world, as it will be more enjoyable, at least it would be to me. I don't play much of vanilla anymore but I did accidentally delete my main world thinking I was something else, and that made it pretty hard to start a new one.
