posted a message on Food is ruined
At the moment Beef and Porkchops etc. quickly become rare due to them involving you KILLING a creature and said creatures no longer randomly spawn :/ That's my only complaint really. I know there are lots of renewable food sources but acquiring them and carrying them around etc. is tedious/annoying since they either can't stack, take numerous steps to obtain and don't heal/restore hunger that much.

posted a message on By the way, I will nerf the endermen block carrying. It was a horrible idea.
I like the idea about a negative candle effect where they create a dark void for mobs to spawn around them but I'd take it one step further, make the void surrounding Endermen spawn enemies normally found in the Nether!

posted a message on Any plans on making a 1.2 openGL compatible option?
    Quote from Isil

EDIT: Looks like Mojang decided to revert the engine to the 1.2 standard (while keeping the new lighting) so there is your answer, but Notch said the fix won't be out until 1.9. I'm left wondering why they changed standards in the first place if what the new engine required wasn't specific to 1.3+.

Parts of the new engine are likely way easier to code or easier to make legible/understandable code for 1.3 then the 1.2 standard.

Not sure, our bases of operation are all near each other and sub 1fps made it practically impossible to move away from the affected area.

you don't see the giant-ass structure that goes straight up and is made of bricks? wow

Maybe if the picture wasn't tiny and best viewed at a screen resolution of around 1280x960 we might see it more easily. As it is, it's a very pixelaated and tiny picture making the structure blend in fairly well with the regular pixelated stuff (In terms of construction material)

posted a message on Will 1.8 get updated to fix experience orb lag issue?
Will there be a minor update to 1.8 to make it so for example, when a player dies they drop ONE orb that is worth the total experience points that player had instead of spawning a googol of small orbs?

    WAIIIIIITT!!!!!

    Why is this continuing?

Is playing on Creative/Peaceful not an option?

I mean it's really bad that this should even be discussed.

If you want to build... play creative/peaceful

If you want to do anything with an added challenge, play survival...

I mean, what's the counter to that?
So we have to either play with 0 difficulty or 100% difficulty? No middle ground? Before, we could build AND have to go out and find food and resources to build with while surviving, now we have to go around re-fixing stuff which just isn't the same thing, it's boring and tedious. In Creation mode there is no reason to hunt for anything as every resource is always available to you. In Peaceful you do have to find resources but zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers etc. don't do anything ensuring exploration features 0 threat/danger completely negating the risk of exploration and a large aspect of the "Survivor" mode, you also have a rather useless hunger meter negating the usefulness of Food resources.

No, my idea about experience orbs appears to be correct. I submitted the world to this guy at http://mcsaver.net/ and told him what I believed it was and what you thought it was and he found out it was indeed experience orbs causing the lag. He also told me how to remedy this myself in the future :smile.gif:

So yeah the world wasn't corrupt as I originally thought (From reading various threads on this forum) as that should mean that the world is buggy or the world can't be opened at all without potentially crashing Minecraft etc. and neither of those were happening, the world was definitely playable without any strange bugs etc. it was just a crippling performance issue that was hindering playing.

ok, next question. 64 bit java on a 32 bit machine?

You can't install 64bit applications on a 32bit O/S. 32bit operating systems have no clue what a 64bit program is.

tvhsbears, first you need to find out what your Motherboard is, once you know that you can find out what type of RAM your motherboard supports and THEN go to the shops to buy more.

Test if setting View Distance to Normal resolves this problem. I'ave had it and reducing view distance from Far resolved it :smile.gif: (I also used to suffer black screens after a while under v1.7 and v1.6 when view distance was set to far)

Then retrieve it from there! Right click on the .minecraft file and click restore!!! Have you not learned from my other comment? Or actually even read it?

Learn to read, he said that it has been deleted from the recycle bin hence your suggestion to restore it from there is moot.

Also if he has deleted the folder containing MinecraftSP.exe then he obviously can't do a Force Update because he can't run Minecraft to reach said option!

Could this be the result of someone dieing and dropping a butt load of experience orbs? If yes, how do you go about resolving this? D:
