So is Minecraft riding on the back of a giant turtle? and if so is it male or female?

It's technically riding on the backs of 4 titanic elephants. THEY are riding on the back of a giant interstellar turtle. Sheesh! Isn't it obvious?

What would be awesome would be a shaped charge. Place a block then place the bomb and it only explodes in a cone away from the direction it's facing.

A finite world would only be useful if it were wrapped around a sphere. Then you would have polar coordinates. Then you could calculate biomes based upon sun exposure, planetary rotation etc.

Minecraft, contrary to modern science, is flat. Since it's flat, there logically is no end in either X-Y direction (except for memory limitations?? Or does the distance from chunk 0 get so great that the coordinate integer gets too big?)

What I find really funny is how no matter where you are, the midday sun will always be directly overhead. And that makes sense.

That's insane! In a good way.

Looking at the size of your skyscraper I thought of an idea. If you want to keep tabs on the measurements, maybe you could put a single sand block every 5 cobble stone blocks on the height and width edges of the building. You could stand back and get a feel for everything just by looking at the ruler-ticks you'd have placed.

posted a message on My first video: The Ankle Biter

Hi. I'm been lurking for a while thoroughly enjoying everyone's posts. This is my very first game video.

I decided to use CamStudio (because it's free) and make a little video of my trench defense system the Ankle Biter. Audio doesn't work at all. I guess CamStudio has a few Win7 audio bugs.

Regardless, let me know what you think of my defense trench.

EDIT: OK, I figured out YouTube annotations. Hopefully it's a little more clear what I'm doing.
