Haha, thanks. I like to think that she's like a Katniss Everdeen of sorts, but with a more "angsty teenager" attitude. The Hunger Games have always fascinated me (although I didn't really like the last two books). There's also a nod to Skyrim in there somewhere.
I myself thought that it was a bit rough, so it's nice to think that somebody else feels different. I think I've edited it five to six time already after I first posted it. Too many awkward sentences for my liking.

Her walk was steady and paced. She had no urgency to get to her destination, but she'll be damned if anything attempts to step in her way. Her callous face bore the markings of an experienced adventurer, despite her young age. Her feet slowly trudged through the dirt road. Her battered and worn out boots were steadily coated by the mud from the morning's dew. She knew where she was going, and she was going to get there.
Despite owning a relatively prestigious family name, she was never fully given the attention she needed. She never had the benefit of experiencing a mother figure in her life. An unfortunate accident that involved a stray arrow took the life of one of her parents. Astrid's father, Soren, was extremely disturbed by the occurrence that he vowed that he would not let anything happen to his family ever again. Her father leads the village's stringent security force, scouting for the vicious critters that dare to pass by and defending his home from local invaders. At most days, this leads Astrid with nothing but a bow and a quiver of arrows her father usually has lying around. Years of monotony at home gave her extra hours of practice, and by no time, she her skills vastly improved, which allowed her to become a very formidable archer.
Living mostly alone with herself, Astrid never had the opportunity to develop much of any social skills. This resulted in her introverted personality, wanting to mostly to sneak away from the public eye and spend most of her time hunting game in the woods. Her small stature provided her with stealthy movements, agile feet, and decisive mentality proved ideal for the environment. Combined with her excellent dexterity, she can strike game from a distance with ease.
With years of training in the woods, Astrid was certain she was more than capable in aiding her father in his duties as a guardsman. Her eagerness immediately vanished when her proposal was immediately denied. Soren sworn to protect his only family left from harm, and leaving Astrid out to danger was too much for him to take. Her father's vehement refusals gave Astrid a reason to prove her worth. She knows she can handle it out the better than anybody. With a few packed clothes, food, water, and her trusty bow and arrows, she left the village to show that she can survive, that the world wasn't as extreme as her father makes it out to be. Leaving a note promising her return, she started to walk.
Steady and paced. She knows that she's almost there. There was no need to rush when you're about to get there. As she looks towards the horizon and sees the rising smoke from the town, she knows that her destination isn't that far off. A couple more miles of steady and paced walking. As she clutched her bow in her hand, a barely audible whisper escapes her lips. "I know I can make it out here. You'll see dad. You just wait and see."

In terms of Minecraft "longevity", I'm relatively new to the game. I just started this past summer, but I've definitely gained some reasonable experience after playing for hours up until dawn. I'm looking for more time to get to know the ins and outs of the game, and this server looks like a good fit. If you need writing something up (guides, storylines, descriptions, etc. Hell, I'll write your English essay if you want), I'll be fine to do it as long as real life doesn't interfere.
