This shouldn't be much of an issue at all. Just tell her you have a girlfriend and cut your losses if you have to. Seems to me that you just like the drama, which is totally fine since a lot of people like the feeling of being pursued. Just don't string her around. Give her the straight talk and leave it at that.

Jul 27, 2013Foxface posted a message on ~ The Prosperous People ~ We Stand For The Virtuous ~I forgot to post this here D:Posted in: Clans
Approximately two years
I live in the East Coast (of the US and A), so my timezone should be around EST.
I think I'd be up for a challenge. I'll try going for the Prosperous Clan Mate class, while being a Miner on the side. Chalk me up in training to become a Structural Organizer as well.
Why do you want to join us?
As I said before, I've been searching for a nice startup clan to acclimate myself in the new Minecraft environment. I'm trying to regain experience just so I wouldn't get myself killed after missing months of gameplay.
Here you go: RS
I hereby swear towards these group of gamers that I shall uphold their standards, vision, and goals to the highest degree, and I will do my best in bringing the clan towards the level of prestige and acclaim it deserves.

I would say that Spring Breakers is one of the best movies of the year. The way it directly satirizes "youthful invincibility" and how kids today glamorize crime, violence, and the idea behind "Spring Break" overall is a very important message that had to be imparted. Also, the fact that Harmony Korine decided to use scantily clad Disney stars who previously had an innocent public persona, loud and mainstream music, and a festive partying atmosphere to lure in the 16-20 demographic (aka the people who needed to see the message of the movie the most) was nothing short of genius.
Also, the way the movie was shot was gorgeous. It was just spectacular. It reminded me of Drive in a lot of ways. I would think that even if I didn't like the movie itself, I would appreciate the cinematography at the very least.
I would love to talk about the ending, which I personally thought was the best part, but I wouldn't want to keep the discussion stuck in my opinions.
Anybody here have any thoughts about the movie?

Born and bred male
How long have you played?:
Approximately two years now, starting off back in the day just hanging out in a private server with a group of friends creating worlds and making adventures.
Experience in Raiding / PvP on Minecraft:
I haven't participated in raids as of yet, but I have spectated friends do similar quests in their respective raiding clans. It seemed to be fun, and I wanted to experience it for myself. For PvP'ing however, I've taken part in several deathmatch survival servers which was some very crazy and mindless fun. I've also been in numerous "Battle Royale" type events, which were ridiculously enjoyable especially when I tagged along with friends.
Have you ever known us or heard of us from before?:
The clan's been one of the more prominent ones I've seen before when I started searching up for a clan to join. It's nice to have a place to get myself acclimated in that already has clear stability and structure.
What are your specialties?:
In-game wise, mining is what I would consider to be my biggest skill, if not only for the fact that it's the feature of Minecraft that I enjoy the most. What may seem menial and cumbersome to many is utterly fascinating to me. I've found great joy digging deep into caves, connecting tunnels to other tunnels and searching for elusive diamond veins. It's an activity not appreciated by some, but something I'm glad to take over for.
Another skill that I do have, although only somewhat tangentially related to the actual game, is writing. Writing has been a big hobby of mine, and the skill that I would consider to be my most proficient one. Any needs for write-ups such as announcements, lore, etc. could be easily fulfilled.
Do you have Teamspeak3?:
I actually do think I have it installed. If not, it shouldn't be very difficult to obtain.
Do you have a mic?:
Yes I do.
Have you ever used a hacked client?:
One of the perks of having a job is being able to pay for my guilty pleasures.
I am crazy about the film industry. Movies are something that have fascinated me for years, and it's a subject I could talk about all day. I plan on taking it as a minor, maybe even majoring at it in college (hopefully NYU!).
As for gaming, my best experience came from playing Portal and Portal 2. I appreciate good writing anywhere, and to experience it in games is something I always love. Plus, I know a guy who was in the writing staff for the second game (Hi Jay Pinkerton!). Nowadays, a large chink of my time has been donated to playing League of Legends with my group of friends. That and Minecraft are my go-to unwind games. Playing premade 10s ARAMs with everyone I know is genuinely fun and relaxing.
I suppose that's about it for me. See ya'll whenever.
Rescinded, sorry! Still a nice place though.

It seems a little weird to encourage more female players than males... I mean, it would be less offensive just to ban us altogether. Now you're saying you'll accept us lowly lifeforms, but we're still your inferiors? You need us to do your menial work, but other than that we're not wanted.
Yeah, me and my dignity won't be considering that any time soon. Cheers!
I'm neither a member of the clan nor a female, but I just wanted to say that you're blowing this way out of proportion to the point that I'm beginning to think that the only purpose of your post is to flamebait. There is absolutely nothing wrong with exclusivity, especially in an area like gaming where females are a minority and just want a place to be comfortable with each other. Also, please do point out to me exactly where the clan insinuated that one gender was superior over the other. You're pulling things out of thin air just to create an argument that was never there. If female exclusive groups bother you, that's your thing and move on. Don't go invading their thread and start accusing them of something they never did. That's just asinine and plain dickish.
To reduce clutter, any response you may decide to create should go directly towards my inbox and not as a reply to this thread.

Which job do you perfer to start with?:
I'd rather start off with something simple, such as Mining.
Why do you want to join the Royal Kitavan Clan?:
It seems like a fairly nice start-up clan as I get acclimated into the Minecraft environment after being in hiatus for awhile. It's simple, not all too demanding, and fits exactly what I am looking for at the moment.
Why should we accept you: (Please explain in a paragraph):
Despite my recent inactivity, I still believe that I've retained a fair amount of knowledge of the game from years of experience. If anything out of the ordinary happens, I can generally handle it on my own. I also have skills to offer beyond the realm of Minecraft. I consider myself to be proficient at writing, which could lend a hand towards unexpectedly important aspects of the clan such as announcements, lore, contests, etc. With my experience in Human Resources and interest in Psychology, I could also volunteer some of my time towards cross-clan communication, recruitment, mediation, etc.
I also absolutely love movies (My current avatar is from Annie Hall by Woody Allen, and it is one of my favorite ones), and I am planning to minor at it in college. I don't know how this should help my chances, but it's just something that I wanted to say.
Have you read the rules?:
I'm kinda dumb sometimes.
One of my favorite poets is Alexander Pope, known for works such as the satirical "Rape of the Lock" and the insightful "Essay on Criticism". I got introduced to him through Charlie Kaufman's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and ever since then I have been fascinated by what he has to say about the world.
One of his writings that has resonated with me deeply is "An Essay on Man" (Man coincidentally being my favorite animal), which talks about the presumptuousness and obsession of Man's and their place on Earth. It talks about how Man just cannot fully grasp God's purposes, and subsequently cannot complain about their status in the Great Chain of Being.

I know that post is old, but holy ****, you talked with David Wong?! Did you talk to any others?
Well, he owns the Cracked forum, so you can talk to him over there if you wish. Not many other columnists post there though. Christina H posts as "Mortal Wombat". She's probably the most active. You'll see DOB as "daniel." once in awhile talking about Spider-man. John Cheese also posts often there. The others, you'll see in the workshop the most, except for Swaim and Cody staying at the video section. They're all very funny people.

Then you'd love me.
I think I just revealed too much to the Minecraft Forums.
Aren't you like 13 years old or something?
Edit: Right, wait for puberty first. And please do not talk about your boobs whilst underage.
Jun 27, 2012Firefly!Posted in: Culture, Media & Arts
It's a Joss Whedon creation (guy who made Buffy, Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, etc.), so expect it to be really funny and full of one-liners. It's also mostly sci-fi and stuff.
After watching the 14 episodes of that, watch Serenity, which is the "sequel", I guess, of Firefly.
As for just some random stuff that's there that you should totally watch, here they are:
How I Met Your Mother:
Don't let the laugh track fool you, this show is amazing. The cast is amazing, the script is well-written, and the execution is superb. Also, Neil Patrick Harris should be in everything ever made. There are currently six seasons on Netflix, the seventh you could just find on the internet. If you liked Scrubs, you'll probably like this show.
This just might be one of the greatest comedy shows I've ever seen. I'm not even being hyperbolic for the sake of reviewing; it actually is that good for me. All cast members have comedic timing like no other, especially David Cross and Will Arnett. Every episode never fails to make me laugh to this day. If you liked Scrubs, you'll probably like this one as well
