I have a Mac, and honestly I believe that Microsoft is doing this to eventually stop distributing the software on the first PC version and get rid of Minecraft for Macs. That, and other reasons that are more positive, such as how C++ is more advanced than Java (I think).

Hey, are public FTB modpacks allowed? Cause I want to put this in mine.

I've got this idea for a mod that doesn't add any biomes, but adds a bunch of block variations that are randomly chosen per biome. This includes stone, dirt and sand, along with different tree variations for each tree.
Stone Variations
There are a few stone variations that spawn instead of vanilla stone (which can be crafted with 3x3 other Cobblestone, makes 9). There are variations for stone, cobble, brick, mossy cobble, cracked/mossy/chiseled brick, stone/cobble/brick slabs and cobble/brick stairs. Ores also have variations with the added ability to choose modded ores to go in the new stones via an overlay (but make sure they are titled ore.stonetype.xyz so that other mods can pick them up). Here are the stones:
Dirt Variations
Vanilla dirt can be made from a 3x3 grid of dirt. The dirt variations have variations of Grass, Podzol, Mycelium, Farmland and Coarse Dirt.
Sand Variations
Unlike the others, sand is determined by color, and vanilla sand and red sand are part of it. There are also two more: Pink Sand and Orange Sand (yellow-orange). Mesas always have Red or Orange Sand, Deserts regular (yellow) or Red Sand, and beaches/other shores yellow or Pink Sand. There is no crafting recipe for vanilla sand because it can still be found. Each one has their own sandstone, smooth sandstone and chiseled sandstone with its own pattern for each one.
Tree Variations
Tree variations are caused when a sapling matures, turning it into a random tree species. Normal trees are the only spawns in the wild, but saplings can mature into a random variant of a certain tree. All trees from the same family bear the same leaves, and each one has a fruit type that restores 2 hunger like an Apple does. There are 5 main families: Oak (including Dark), Spruce, Birch, Jungle and Acacia (with a unique leaf texture).
Oak Variations:
2x2 Oak Variations (only grow with Bone Meal on a 2x2 grid of Oak Saplings):
Spruce Variations:
2x2 Spruce Variations (only grow with Bone Meal on a 2x2 grid of Spruce Saplings):
Birch Variations:
Jungle Variations (stay the same 1x1 and 2x2, 2x2 is only grown with Bone Meal on a 2x2 grid of Jungle Saplings):
Acacia Variations:
You can also combine a sapling with 8 Bone Meal to get 8 "X Tree Fertilizer", guaranteed to make that tree type.

2 years ago. Galacticraft was out, and I will admit this sucks though.

I've been using that to check out seeds, actually.

How do I search for a world with a specific set of biomes?

I'd prefer you work on ProgressiCraft first. This mod could be cool, but I'd like to revamp the content in this before actually having you make it.

Come to think of it, I'd probably want this in any of my packs, and considering I have so many ideas, that won't be easy. Will notify you when any public pack is released containing this mod.

Cool!

Tough question! Do I have to narrow it down to 3?
Alright fine, I guess:
3. Stained Clay. Less vibrant than Wool, but much more practical. There should be a different vibrant dyes block though. It also is what makes Mesas look amazing.
2. Birch Wood (Logs/Planks). I just like the colors, always have.
1. Quartz. Need I say more?

So, basically, this mod expands Minecraft's progression and makes it harder, originally from here with new stuff added. It also adds a more in-depth hunger system. Also, make sure that you allow modpack support unless they monetize the pack. Anyway, here we go!
1. Copper Tools (Courtesy of Shaddura)
So, to start off, you get wood. Then, you make tools. Pretty simple, and unchanged from the norm. I'm not including anything before getting wood, because honestly, that would suck. But, you only need to collect 8 stone now. That 8 stone will make a Furnace. Then, you must find some Copper, which is as common as Coal but it has the vein size of Iron. You must smelt the Copper. Then, you can make your second-tier tools. Copper Tools have the same speed, durability and mining level as Stone, but you can't craft Stone Tools anymore. You must make these instead.
This idea was created by the user Shaddura, and the original suggestion can be found here. Make sure to credit him for some ideas along with me.
2. Iron, Gold and Silver
So, with your new Copper Pickaxe, you can mine some Iron. You make tools out of that, and like Wooden tools, Iron tools are unchanged.
However, with your new Iron Pickaxe, you have two choices to go, as Diamond still spawns, but it cannot make tools (more on its uses later). You either mine Gold, or you mine Silver. Gold tools can now mine everything as fast as the old Diamond but with the durability of Wood (but not lower like currently). Silver, however, is the opposite. It has the durability of the old Diamond, but it can only mine as fast as Wood. These two materials contrast each other in recipes:
This is all fine and dandy, but what if I want my Diamond tools back? Well, fear not, but you'll have to take a trip to the Nether...
3. The Nether, the Forge, and Electrum
First thing you have to do to get your snazzy new tools is to mine some Obsidian. Gold and Silver can each mine Obsidian now, and I'd honestly recommend you to use Gold as mining it with Silver would be painstakingly annoying. But after that, you go into the Nether. You won't need to explore any Fortresses right now unless you really want to. What you need to do is to get half a stack of Netherrack, smelt it up into Bricks, and make Blocks out of it. Then, craft it in the pattern you would craft a Chest or Furnace. This gets you a Forge.
The Forge is an upgraded version of the Furnace, working faster but not taking any fuel worse than Coal. But its best property is that it can smelt Silver and Gold Ingots. This process gives you an item called Molten Silver/Gold. If you want to get your precious metals back, turn them into Blocks like you would for Ingots. Then unload those Blocks and you get your metal back! But beyond that, they do have a use. Making a 3 wide, 2 tall checkerboard pattern of Molten Silver and Molten Gold will get you 1 Electrum Ingot. Electrum Ingots combine the best qualities of Gold and Silver, making what are essentially Diamond tools.
4. Diamond Cutting and Jewelry
This part requires Azanor's Baubles mod.
But what are Diamonds used for now? Well, they can be used for a Jukebox and Enchanting Table, but that isn't all. Putting a Sword in the first slot of an Anvil and a Diamond in the second cuts the diamond, taking durability from the sword. (If this doesn't work, just make a new station for this and we can go more in-depth that way.) First, you get a Hexagonal Diamond, then a Pentagonal Diamond (kinda looking like the Chaos Emeralds), then a Rhombus Diamond, and finally a Triangular Diamond. These can be crafted into Jewelry with Gold Chains (crafted with 3 Gold Nuggets in a horizontal line). As it uses the Baubles mod, it has 3 types: The Ring (crafted with 1 Gold Chain below a Diamond), the Pendant (crafted with 3 Gold Chain in an upside-down V shape and a Diamond in the bottom center) and the Sash (crafted with 7 Gold Chain in the shape of a Cauldron and a Diamond in the top center).
Each type of Diamond will grant you different effects. Hexagonal Diamonds will decrease the rate your hunger goes down and takes some of the Thirst decrease away from dry foods (getting to that in a sec). Pentagonal Diamonds increase the rate of regeneration, but only at full hunger and thirst (again, getting to it later). Rhombus Diamonds make you able to climb a certain number of blocks without jumping. And Triangular Diamonds will randomly grant Poison to enemies you strike with a weapon. But the hunger rate/thirst cost decrease, regen increase, number of blocks climbed and chance to poison all scale with the type of jewelry. Sashes grant the best buffs, then pendants, then rings. And jewelry of the same type doesn't stack, so you can't load up with massive amounts of regeneration. You need to choose which effects matter the most to you.
5. Improved Tool Handles
Tools are done, but progression doesn't stop there! Once you kill some Blazes, you can use Blaze Rods as tool handles! This becomes "Blazing X Tool", "X" being the material and "Tool" being the tool type. This will increase durability by 25%, but decrease enchantibility. Meanwhile, there is a rod that does the opposite. How to get it? Go to the End. In the End, there will be a new type of fungi growing called the Lightcap. These glowing pink mushrooms will spread when placed on End Stone only, and they can also spread regardless of light level. These can be smelted into Pink Dye, but more importantly, they can be made into Lightcap Stems simply by placing them in the crafting grid. These Stems can be turned into tools with durability decreased by 25%, but higher enchantibility
6. Thirst Bar and Revamped Hunger
The Thirst Bar doesn't do what you think it does. If you do dehydrate, you lose health, but it isn't simply a second hunger bar, and things like water and milk don't restore it. No, that'd be too tedious. Instead, it functions as a way to balance the already existing Hunger system. Foods are classed as "wet", "normal" or "dry". Wet foods restore thirst, normal ones don't do anything, and dry foods decrease thirst. Preferably, you should be able to set thirst values for modded food. The bar is displayed by 10 raindrops that become smaller when halved and depleted, and you won't have natural regen when your thirst is down. Here is the chart for all vanilla foods and their thirst values:
Apple: 2.5 drops
Baked Potato: -1.5 drops
Bread: -2 drops
Cake (per slice): 0.5 drops
Carrot: 1 drop
Clownfish: 5.5 drops (finally has a use!)
Cooked Chicken: -1 drop

I have some ideas for LPs on Minecraft content to make it unique. Thing about this is while it may be considered to be sharing creations, I don't want to give tutorials and I don't want to make up a story to go with it. But I need to have fun to produce a quality channel, and I don't while RPing or going into a creative world and making redstone contraptions/builds to show off or teach.

Just a few ideas that I thought of and I feel would fit in your mod:

Do a blind playthrough on Horizons Daybreaker. No quests, but you gotta learn to use these mods yourself. Can't play this, cause I know a lot about some of those mods.
EDIT: Or maybe try this pack? Still don't think I'll be able to play.

You like magic/fantasy mods, eh? Try this pack: Banished. it's on the FTB launcher, it's really hard, and it focuses on some awesome underrated mods like Silent's Gems and Aura Cascade.
EDIT: I don't think I want to play together, just an idea.

I may change it. Not sure.
