Actually, I'm pretty sure the lighter meat next to the raw porkchop is just a new texture for the cooked porkchop, since the steak is going to use the old cooked porkchop texture from what it seems. So no lamb.
Either way, I'm excited for 1.8 and what it's going to bring to the survival aspect of the game.

Jul 26, 2011Forstride posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?My guess is that it's some kind of thief. It's holding a block, so maybe it takes stuff out of your inventory, and maybe even chests if they get in your house.Posted in: News
Or of course, they could take blocks from the terrain. Maybe they're aliens who come down and steal resources for their home planet or something, and you have to fight them off, or they'll continue to steal resources.
Who knows...They look freaking creepy as all hell though. -

Jun 27, 2011Forstride posted a message on Digital Diamond: Fully Functioning BathroomThis isn't impressive at all. All he did was make giant structures, clearly non-legit, hook up finite water pumps to an ocean, and add pistons for the drains.Posted in: News
Now, do this without a ton of mods, and it would be impressive. -
Jun 6, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Coming To Xbox Kinect This WinterYou know, the more I think about it, the more I realize how cool using Kinect would be. Granted you have to walk, dig, etc. all by yourself. As long as texture packs, importing worlds, and SMP is supported, I'll probably buy it.Posted in: News
EDIT: To all the people saying Notch is selling out: He's not some lesser known indie developer anymore. He should be able to port his game that's sold millions to consoles/handhelds without being completely shot down by the awful Minecraft community (It's not awful just because of this, but yeah). -

May 31, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Patch 1.6.6 Released@Necrospire: It creates a nice little patch of tall grass and flowers when you use the bonemeal on grass blocks. Definitely great for repopulating areas with little tall grass, or just adding more.Posted in: News

May 31, 2011Forstride posted a message on Minecraft Patch 1.6.6 ReleasedUgh, and of course, tall grass placement is still messed up. *sigh*Also, the new bonemeal uses are growing tall grass and flowers on grass blocks for those who don't know.Posted in: News

Considering we get requests like this all the time, it gets annoying after a while.
Also, I tried out the method I had mentioned, with biomes generating as shores, and it didn't work as I intended it to. The only other way to have more realistic biome transitions is by completely re-writing how biomes are generated, and I'm pretty sure neither MisterFiber or myself would be able to do that.

Basically, only the "extremes" would be allowed to spawn (Desert, Ice Wasteland, Jungle, etc.), and then we'd have to have them generate "shores" of every other biome in a realistic way. It still wouldn't seem realistic in the end, and it wouldn't look that nice either. You'd just have rings of biomes around one central biome.
How about this, I'll do an in-game example of it for a better understand.

1) There already is one in my add-on (Seasonal Forest)
2) There already is one (Mountain Ridge)
3) There are beaches (Jeb added beaches back into Minecraft a while back anyways)
4) There are other mods that do that
5) This is a biome mod, not a weather mod
6) Not possible. Besides, it would be boring that way.
7) Please read the rest of the thread before posting stuff that's already been asking about multiple times.

There are only 3 crafting recipes with my add-on, and you can find them under the add-on section. ExtraBiomesXL has quite a few crafting recipes, and they can be found in the Q&A section.
In addition to the ones listed, you can craft colored dyes from certain flowers.

I've actually always wanted to add something like that, and I tried adding it at one point, but it looked crappy, so I scrapped it. Besides, I'd have to tinker with shore generation, and only certain biomes would have them at their edges. Then again, if I did that, I could do the same thing for gravel beaches, although I like them the way they are currently.

However, MC 1.2 is a close runner up, as it introduced the Jungle, along the ocelots/cats, redstone lamps, and the new AI certainly made the game more challenging, which is always great.

Yes, we will be condensing block IDs into metadata, for instance, all the grasses will just be one block, as well as the leaves, dead grass, and other similar blocks.

People still use the internet without AdBlock?

Also, in regards to having my add-on integrated with the main mod once the option to choose which biomes generate, MisterFiber said he'd be willing to, although there's a "concern" about getting less credit, as it won't be separate. And of course, I won't get adf.ly revenue, but I could care less about that. Personally, I don't mind, as long as it's easier and more convenient to players.

That's right, it's the LTTP font, with the black border and all! Black text won't change to white though, as I guess MCPatcher can't change that. So signs might be a bit hard to read. Also, the color coded colors have been changed to fit the pack better (Most are based off of wool colors).
Also, I forgot to mention before that I added a texture for the arrow that matches the item texture itself.

Yes, but only if you enable them to spawn in all biomes in the Mo Creatures config (I think you can do it from the in-game GUI as well).
I'm going to be creating a patched version of ExtraBiomesRPG that has more realistic mob spawning, and Mo Creatures support. For instance, horses will only spawn in Meadows, Pastures, and Orchards, or Big Cats will only spawn in Savannas and Steppes.
Also, I forgot to mention that ExtraBiomesRPG is complete. I will not be adding anymore biomes, as I feel I've added all the biomes that I wanted, and that other players wanted as well. Whether you like darker, creepy biomes, or bright and cheerful biomes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
