I'm frequently starting new worlds just to experience the start up challenge - now I'll have a legit reason to do so, without the ability to "hoard" old worlds.Posted in: News

And are we allowed to sell/purchase fan made creations relating to the game? ;D -

Just wanted to say thank you for this bit of advice. I really like the look of it - dresses up some of my previous cobblestone roads quite nicely.

A texture pack consists of only flat pictures which are applied to the blocks you build with. Check out the Texture Pack subforum for that: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/41-texture-packs/
If you want towns or buildings you need to ask for a map, or world save. Check out the Maps subforum for downloads: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/53-maps/

Edit: Just tried it, and you don't even need to close the trap door. You can just stand on the top of the ladder right beneath the trap door to jump to the ladder above the trap door. Easy as pie.
Second Edit: The ladders need to be on opposite sides of the shaft for this to work, btw. So alternate the side you put the ladder on between trap doors if possible.

The following link is not the direct link, but rather the page the image host displays the image on. It won't work and gives you the extension error.
The following link is correct, and links directly to the image file.
To get the direct link, right click on the image you want to show and choose the "view image" option or a similar alternative. It should place the image in it's own window. From there, you can then copy and paste it's url.

You may be trying to link to the Flickr page holding the image rather than the image itself. You need to link directly to the image. To do so, right click on the image you uploaded to Flickr, and choose the "view image" option (or a similar option). That should open the image in its own window, where you can then copy and paste the link you need for these forums.

Actually...
So the grass addition may have more of an impact than mere aesthetics. Not sure if turning it off would really be a viable alternative.

A completely wooden boat that's carrying no extra weight, if fully submerged and filled with water, may slowly float to the surface in still water - but only if the wood is relatively dry. If the wood has soaked up a decent amount of water, the boat is far more likely to just remain at the bottom.
Simple wooden boats generally rely on their shape to remain afloat by creating an air pocket, not the buoyant properties of the wood itself. Once the inside is filled with water, especially if the wood is water logged... They'll sink and stay there.
And like another person said, they sure as heck aren't going to float up a waterfall. =)
I'm definitely updating, even though I just finished a fairly huge underground boat dock that relies on some of the bugs being fixed. On my legit world, too, gosh dang it. =P So much smooth stone wasted.
There are simply way too many awesome changes this time around. I'll keep a backup copy of the old version though.
