posted a message on Singleplayer Strategy and why I hate sheep
    Quote from Scimitar_101

    My strategy:
    1. get sapling
    2. get seeds
    3. dig down to bedrock
    4. live there
    5. ???
    6. Diamonds!

But sometimes i play just like you, with only difference:
I build my house from the very beginning, and i use MCEdit to change my spawn point so i will spawn directly in my house.
And i dont attempt to find a sheep, i just make my own wool from strings. (same crafting recipe as crafting table, just with strings instead of wood).

I never liked the look of bedrock enough to live on it. mostly i prefer to stay above ground. there i can see hostile mobs from a ways off. there's a lot less chance of being cornered that way.

posted a message on Singleplayer Strategy and why I hate sheep
I'v been wondering about basic strategy. normally when I start a map i build as close to the spawn as i can immediately until I have the resources to build a bed (which is sometimes surprisingly rare). Normally I build a 5x5x5x house without corner blocks near to the spawn or at least near enough to the spawn so that it is visible, if I cannot find sheep. eventually I build from beyond that. i find that until i can find a bed there is a challenge in relocating an initial settlement if there are NO sheep. eventually I build a pit and lure animals into it. normally I spawn near a swamp. I like spawning near swamps because their are pretty flat and have a lot of trees. the seed i've found to be quite accomodating most recently is (without quote marks) "Watch It Freelancer" It has a few near-surface dungeons in the desert nearby (in the desert away from a near spawn village). I found a nether fortress nearby the spawn point.

Where I built my initial settlement i built a four nether portals away from my initial house in the cardinal directions of128 nether blocks (much easier to build in the nether). this was after i had developed a stable farm of animals and other grow-able resources. at those four nether portals i built replicas of houses I had lived in my past. I understand that many of you have not lived in four different houses (or even 5 different houses depending on how you build your first house). but i have lived in about 14 different places and because of my memorable ability i may attempt to recreate each one. i will post pictures as soon as i am able. but i wonder if anyone else experiences this method of singleplayer survival mode.

on the major topic i wish to observe if people who have experienced many changes of domicile also create their own minecraft world world in a similar way.

I say Bedrock, let people fall to their deaths at the bottom of the world and walk along the top of the nether, or change the nether to have limited contact with the upper Y boundary.m

posted a message on Boat durability
boats just kind of irritate me. they need their own little health bar of some sort, but it can't be the normal durability thing from tools because it's not in the inventory when you use it, cracks are a good idea but boats tend to just have low and crappy durability. they'll break apart on very little so my advice is to build like 5 or 6 boats at once.

posted a message on Deadliest Mob!
I hate the ghast with a passion because of the way they control my movement habits in the nether. they are the only enemy i actually have fun fighting nowadays, haven't encountered those things that drop blaze rods (and thus the enderdragon) yet. maybe it's because i don't bring arrows into the nether, killing them with swords is just so much more rewarding.

Thats not a prank that just wrong.

    i chuckled.

one time i reconstructed someone's house so that it was about 1/4 the size (he had a lot of open space and high ceilings) he could fit in it when i finished but he couldn't move around much. i also put lava in his walls (behind shoddy cobblestone) so when he tried to fix it there was firey death.
