    posted a message on [ctm][collection] A Legend's Awakening
This topic is subject to change over time as I learn more about bb code and making topics. The title is subject to change if I decide to make another map(s).

After some time knowing about Vechs' super hostile series and playing a few of his map I decided that I wanted to make one of my own.

I timed this so this topic would be my 666th post.

    Maps
    A Legend's Awakening v1

    Difficulty rating
A maps difficulty is based on average how hard the map is to get the difficulty rating of a map I play through the map and based on the amount of deaths per area or how troublesome it is to get through the place.

    Difficulty key
Easy - Self explanatory, you shouldn't have too much trouble.
Medium - You may have some trouble but not much.
Hard - Occasional death by mobs in easier areas.
Punishing - Frequent deaths in easy areas and lots of deaths in hard.
Brutal - There is no safety.

If a map has a large variation in difficulty from area to area I will put the range of difficulty instead.

    About

This is my first super hostile map ever.

In this map there is a lot to explore with all of it taking place underground. With vast underground caves to small cramped corridors you will see quite a bit.

    Difficulty - Hard to Brutal

    ‚ÄčOptional collectibles - Sacred Artifacts, Lore : 16, 17

Note - As of the 1.5 snapshots (13w01a - 13w07a) some things are broken but not game changing, these will be fixed after 1.5 is properly released and a few mods come out.

    The Forbidden Lands

Unsure is I will make this one.

This map (if made) will feature a massive overworld in similar style to Shadow of the Colossus.

Yeah, I already had this in a different thread. There exist default water, lava, and lava_flow text files. You'll need to overwrite them in order to have animation lengths of your own choosing.

I have a custom lava animation currently that is 64 frames long and when it plays the 64th frame will freeze up every time.
Here's the txt file if you want to see it

    Quote from The_Fool76

Lets not forget that when new items are added to the game they will no longer have broken textures because you hadn't updated the pack yet. So less pressure on us to update the very moment a new version goes live.

This has to be one of the best reasons why I like the texture update. Another being the fact that all blocks and Items can have animations now without mods.

For those who didn't know either there seems to be a bug with flowing lava/water animations longer than 16 frames.
On the last frame of flowing water/lava in longer than 16 frame animation it will freeze for a second then continue the animation, I think its just some leftover code from pre-13w02a/b.

Any glitch involving the ability to duplicate items is cheating in my book.

Like a couple of other people said.

I would interview them first to check for all the usual things.

Just opening you inventory should fix it. This bug though is caused by lag spikes.

posted a message on Minecart Stuttering Audio Bug? (not the common one lot's of people have)
    Edit: just watched the video.
That is a rather common bug involving minecarts. I had this occur in super hostile waking and so did Vechs in his waking up dev commentary.

I mostly use the palm grip style but I sometimes end up using the fingertip style depending on what I'm doing.

I heard Etho talking about something like this earlier today and I think that a lamp with variable brigtness could be extremely useful and for decoration. I wish there was also something to detect artficial light too, giving this some good use.

posted a message on WASD or Arrow Keys?
I prefer WASD over arrow keys considering how you can do a lot more (alternately for left handed people IJKL can be used).
