posted a message on A Modern, Island Inspired City.. Now available for DL!
Well done, truly one of the best builds I have seen on this forum. Your sense of design and aesthetics is really amazing, are you interested in architecture? Keep building either way!

posted a message on Are you kidding me, G4?
I'm surprised Bioshock is so high up there. Sure, it was a great game, but can it really be compared to some of the classics on that list?

Also, Angry Birds as #49. What the hell, guys.

posted a message on How do you find your home?
Rei's minimap, I drop a waypoint in the middle of my house. Before I got the mod, however, I would just use an actual in game map. My houses are usually large enough to be seen on the handheld map, and I rarely have to travel beyond the borders of it.

That was an awesome experiment and writeup. It's amazing what you can do with this game, from killing zombies to performing social experiments on human behavior in limited resource environments. I hope to see other experiments by you!

You sure make a bunch of assertions in your post that you obviously pulled out of nowhere. Perhaps you should brush up on your rhetoric before making another blind-rage induced post, hmm? I think everyone would enjoy that.

posted a message on What have you been banned for?
I got banned from a survival server once because the admin asked if I was "green." Since my player skin is mostly green colors, I replied yes. He then started swearing at me and banned me. Wut.

Turns out there was a guy with a hacked client who kept logging in under different names, although he went by the name "Green-something" (I don't remember exactly). I suppose I got confused with him. Whoops.

posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)
Although I wouldn't call it boring, it certainly hasn't gotten better. Basically the entire problem revolves around verticality, and how now biomes are forced into certain height ranges. Plains are flat, deserts are flat, forests are flat, mountains are spiky and awesome, but have no other features.

    My opinion:

    Remove mountain biomes
Allow other biomes to have random height levels and changes, so by chance you could have a mountain in a desert, and such.

In the meantime, I recommend the Wedge Terrain Mod. When generating worlds you can adjust a "Craziness" meter that determines height variation, and it also generates terrain up to y: 256. It has all the nostalgic terrain of Beta, but with jungles, 'shroom biomes, and villages.

posted a message on How did you all survive with no tutorial?
I had watched a friend play it for a while before I bought it, and I had the wiki to help me. Still, I wish I had known about charcoal back then.... would have made the first few nights a whole lot easier.

posted a message on Strange Village (?)
Eldaria is the world I'm currently using, and I had no idea it had a village anywhere. Thanks for pointing this out! Anyway, the entire map is custom built from the ground up, so nothing on the surface is "real." I'm not sure the tunnels are formed naturally, though, so don't trust them either.

posted a message on The First Thing You Built?
Back in Beta 1.3 or so I built a dirt box for my house. I started slowly replacing the dirt with wooden planks as I punched trees, until I was playing with flint and steel one night and I set my house on fire. I moved into a nearby cavern after that and set up an underground tree farm, two cactus farms, and a pair of mob traps.

    I was a good noob.

posted a message on Hunger Bar
Food is astoundingly easy to acquire. I live out in an ocean biome where no animals spawn, so I have to make do with a small wheat farm. I am currently building a storage facility to store the huge amount of wheat I have harvested. Just keep a half or quarter stack of bread in your inventory, and you won't ever have a problem. The point of the hunger bar is to test your ability to manage resources and make combat more challenging, and you seem to be failing that test.
