Mobs, I never find witches (I've found several huts, though), wither skeletons, or charged creepers (though it's nearly impossible to find a charged creeper). I haven't seen a cave spider in a while, so I'll put it here.
As mob drops, since I've found only 3 wither skeletons, wither skulls.
Mine up your bed, walk away from your house and put it down. Sleep through the night, and maybe he'll be gone. If not, take out the roof and he'll teleport away because of the sunlight.
Silverfish. They are so small and they go into stone...ugh.
I also hate creepers (I know you said don't say that), because I always turn around and a group of them are right there and it almost gives me a heart attack.
Only counting reproducible mobs, it's the charged creeper (a creeper that was struck by lightning), pink sheep, witherskeletons, spider jockeys, silverfish, and magma cubes. And possibly witches, I've never found one in survival.
Beat the Enderdragon, rob a village, make a mob spawner, craft every type of armor (diamond armors, gold armors, iron armors, and leather armors - I don't know if you can craft chainmail), make a vacation home in every biome, find a stronghold in the nether, kill a ghast, etc. There are an endless amount of challenges that you can come up with, those are just some. Be creative!
Go to a swamp biome at night, they spawn like heck there.
That's why I hate living in swamps. The only reason I'd live in a swamp is if I found a witch hut.
Hope I helped

Mycelium.
When are you ever going to find a mushroom biome anyway?

But silverfish are worse.

No, gravel is good for flint, which gets flint & steel.
