rofl FishTaco don't worry, i'm getting the same bug, and i started a new world, and i actually read the thread, and i'm not an ass like mormon partyboat.
1.9 altered the generation code again, 1.8 and 1.9 worlds are different and will break at the borders just like 1.7 and 1.8 maps.
For the third time -.-
This was a completely new map, generated purely from 1.9 pre release. I did NOT load an old save file, there was NO save file to load because this was a brand new .minecraft folder.
seems like you loaded a before 1.8 map. terrain generation was altered in 1.8, so every old map will have this sort of unfitting chunkborders when you discover new chunks.
I did not load any map, started a new map with a clean .minecraft folder.
