at this point I think WinRAR and WinZIP should be classed as bloatware.

one of the key names is too long - easiest fix is to simply reduce the GUI scale. Honestly I cannot understand why some people use the default auto-scale at 1080p or higher, it makes the GUI way too "large" while making the effective GUI size so small.

no problem, just make sure you use the correct subforum. you've posted in the java edition subforum when you should have posted in the bedrock edition subforum.

that's not a java edition feature AFAIK, that's a bedrock feature called the "paper doll", and you can disable it in the options screen

posted a message on The java edition has a very poorly optimized garbage collector.

Actually, it's more about how well your system can manage RAM - a high RAM speed coupled with a CPU with enough cores to have one dedicated to just memory management can make a world of difference. Won't increase overall FPS by too much but it will help eliminate the stuttering. The problem is most people don't even take RAM speed into consideration, and when the game is allocating something crazy like 128mb+ per second (that's 1 GB every 8 seconds!) fast RAM is a must.

Well i was moving chest with gravgun into portal, it worked fine for idk 15 chests but then one crashed the server.

don't try to move blocks with tile entities through portals. it seems to be an issue with the portal gun mod where it's not type-checking the tile entity at it's position when the tile entity has already been replaced somehow.

If this is about a singleplayer world you started in survival mode you can download NBT Explorer. With this programm you can open the worlds savefile. Search for CommandsAllowd=0. Change the 0 to 1. Now you can enter gamemode creative.

it's faster to just open to LAN with cheats allowed, which bypasses the world's cheats setting altogether.

posted a message on power outage deletes game completely?

you so clearly do not understand how filesystems work at all. any game, even one with cloud saves, can have it's save file corrupted by a power failure. No exceptions. The only way to prevent total loss in such a scenario is to maintain save backups - many games do this automatically, and it's recommended you do this manually to minecraft worlds. Minecraft worlds don't backup automatically because they can simply be too large to effectively do so.

also absolutely never allocated 16 gb of ram to java. it also drops performance significantly as it doesn't know what to do with that much memory, only in rare cases you'll need at MOST 8-9 gb for heavy modpacks, but 16 gb for vanilla is NOT okay.

as someone who has played with 24GB of allocated memory, the idea that more memory is bad is only true to an extent - if you can allocate enough RAM (and your RAM is fast enough) you can actually overcome the GC entirely (as in almost all garbage data gets cleaned by the collector's typical background sweeps)

    Quote from SuntannedDuck2»

A thing to also know along with what everyone has said above is that mods in the 1.8.9, 1.16.3, etc. folders can't be loaded for versions 1.13+, only 1.12.2 and before mods can be loaded in a deeper folder.

I didn't know they removed that feature. strange thing to remove.

    Quote from WeeGerGai»

Is there a way to put mods into individual folders? Let me explain, whenever I put mods into the mods folder, for example 1.16.3 mods, I cant run 1.8.9 forge so it crashes, and I have to move the mods to play forge and then move the 1.16.3 if I want to play said version, and it's annoying so is there a way to make individual mod folders for seperate versions?

apart from the aformentioned "different instance directories" (which is the best solution) you can also make sub-folders inside the mods folder where the folder name is the minecraft version (I.E. "mods/1.8.9" for 1.8.9 mods, "mods/1.16.3" for 1.16.3 mods, ect.)
