    Hey, I was wondering does this mod work if it is only installed on the client? for just the slow moving doors for aesthetics ?

    Thaumcraft is the first and only mod I can think of that makes me feel like its actually an expansion of vanilla minecraft. if it was endorsed by mojang and they began developing it as a full blown expansion or update, I would pay for it. It's the route I wish they took when they brought out cauldrons and "magic" potions.


    Modded Minecraft has lost something truly remarkable. I Loved Thaumcraft 4 ( I havent played with 1.8 versions much as the modding scene seemed to skip 1.8-1.9) and wished I could continue to see it evolving and become even greater, but I can understand the need to look after oneself and family when required even if it means you lose time to work on something you love.


    Hopefully you and Thaumcraft will be back one day - until then I wait.

    Change the maximum length using "/gamerule grapplingLength 10" or whatever length you want to set it to. Set it to 0 to be infinite.




    Thanks, i wanted it in my survival world but when i flew across the map with no restriction, it seemed too cheaty for me.


    Another thing I would suggest/like to have is for the boots to not negate all damage. instead reduce it like feather falling, but more so.


    Also i'm running 1.7.10 so I would love those features on that version.


    Love the mod though. it will probably be put into all of my survival worlds now that it is a bit more balanced.

    posted a message on MapWriter (continued) - An open source mini-map!

    This was my favourite mini-map mod out there, after not having a fully working 1.7.10 version i switched to journey but I still miss the good ol' mapwriter, now this is out, no more more junky miscellaneous crap i don't use for me. The best feature in mapwriter is definately the abillity to organise waypoints in groups, which I missed sorely .


    Good to see it back!

    It's still within the mod authors ability to change the priorities of golem and I understand that its not possible atm. I'm just saying that my suggestion would add more control to the current golem/essentia system. I don't see a situation where having reservoirs be first priority would be more advantageous.


    if the author doesn't agree then your work around will do the job nicely (though more tedious).

    the golem is set to take out of the reservoir at the furnace/alembics and put into the jars. I did have it set to put it into the crystalizer but all the essentia was going there instead of the jars.

    The problem would be the reservoir connected to the crystallizers i'd say, not the one on the alembic


    Well, a void jar can only hold one type, so you would only end up loosing what ever landed there first.


    In my setup I want all of them to be just labelled warded jars and if I end up with extras I can use them for alchemy and not loose potential Items instead of just voiding them. Though in cases with metallum and arbor I might end up trashing the crystals anyway, so they might be better off as void jars from the start.

    Is there a reason that the reservoir has priority over the warded jars? I was hoping to get the essentia into the reservoir after the labelled jar are full, with a setup like in the picture, but it actually works the opposite way. I would like to suggest that the reservoirs should be a last resort option - even after void jars.

    I've been looking for a mod that does this for a long time but I haven't found any.

    The basic idea is that with a crafting table you can make a trough in which you can fill up with animal food (maybe limited to one type) that animals will eat and then breed automatically. The trough can then be filled up by hoppers.

    I can guess that if they always breed when they can, it would fill up the animal pens quite quickly. To balance it you could increase the interval between the breeding or set up some rudimentary hunger system for the animals.

    This could even make cauldrons more useful. maybe it could be edited to allow food inside it or the crafting recipe for the trough could be a chest and a cauldron.
