It's a public event that people paid money to go and see which is very different from an interview, or a youtube channel.
At this panel the yogscast are supposed to be a sort of authority figure and therefore supposed to act professionally. You don't swear, nor do you use content that could be seen as offensive. They are reported as having done so and therefore Notch isn't really wrong for what he has said.

However saying it on twitter is stupid as this is a matter you'd probably want to keep behind the scenes, however twitter is terrible for keeping things locked up.

posted a message on Prereleases killed my interest in Minecraft
Minecraft has gotten to the point where the promise of new content is what kept many people consistently playing. Especially if you have played for more than 3-4 months. This whole beta has been more like a release, and all these updates have been like DLC, and the actual release has been Notch retiring.

    Notch(via Twitter)

Notch owes a great deal of Minecraft's publicity to Yogscast. To turn on them so publicly, is saddening.

Yes, the yogscast were born with 1 million subs and gave Notch some help and did minecraft videos. I remember the yogscast only having 200,000 subs when I first saw them in February and that was a couple months after they did their first minecraft videos.

I'm guess most of the precious children that hear those deadly words were at the panel becuase they watch the yogscast videos, which means they've heard every use of the work "****" from the highlight video before in their orginal videos. If you are mad at your kid hearing **** 20 times perhaps you should stop them from watching a channel that has said it about a thousand times.

That becomes more of an idea of who made who, did Minecraft makes the yogscast? Or did the yogscast help minecraft? Anyways I don't have kids bro, however I doubt a large majority of them came from the yogscast however there is a difference between videos and real life. You don't if a video will ever go up and who will see it, in a public conference you know people will hear it and the demographic of the people.

Only Notch very blatantly does NOT censor himself. Have you heard the words coming out of his mouth? The things he's said publicly? Now he's playing all innocent.

That's fine Notch is also the creator of Minecraft he can swear if he wants because it would be him getting himself into trouble. On the other hand if someone else got him into trouble for the exact same thing it would be kind of annoying.

If that doesn't work then compare it to the vocabulary of NOTCH.

Don't know what you're getting at but I do know Notch swears a ton (or at least from what I've gathered via an interview by c418... however he isn't the greatest person to recite conversations between two people because it'll come out warped) but Notch can most likely censor himself. We all probably say derogatory like gay and such but we tend to censor it around people who might be offended. That is what the yogscast needs to do, however even raywilliamjohnson swears a ton yet he actually censors himself within his videos.

I think it's BS. When I compare the vocabulary of Yogscast compared to what I hear everyday, I find their videos excellent. Yes they can drop some f-bombs but when it comes from 2 guys who have an excellent talking, I don't see the problem. My kids could be exposed to that, no problem. It's not like a movie in which a guy has 4 words of vocabulary and 3 of them are curses.

    p.s.
As I said, even this forum is host on curse sites...

Problem is those people only have an audience of 20-30 people at max. The yogscast had an audience of at least 500,000 people, that is much different. Also I wouldn't really base your argument on how the general population acts because it is made up of people who believe racism, sexism, and derogatory words are good to use in everyday conversations.

Funny thing is I've heard an interview by c418 and he dropped more f-bombs in a minute than I thought possible. Hopefully he didn't have a panel.

However whether or not they knew it was right they must understand the general age group of minecraft players. They're not speaking to an old folks home about retirement plans but speaking to an audience made up 10-20 years olds primarily. Even without knowledge of the age group it's good to take the political route and be very cautious of your word choices, however the yogscast are made up of two people who're so full of themselves that I wouldn't doubt it if they didn't give a crap.

If you've posted on this forum for the last 3 months you'll know speculation is the basis for many peoples arguments... "It'll be fixed one day"

Nothing, at this point villagers are useless and always will be useless. Quest content in minecraft doesn't work because generally quests are freaking terrible, especially fetch quests. However they're tolerable because they help to progress the story or tell it.

posted a message on What kind of update pattern will Minecraft see now?
There was a day when minecraft would get an update every month or so, these updates added one main feature with some small tweaks. It rarely got an update anywhere close to 1.8 or 1.9. So where does minecraft go from here? What type of update pattern do we see? Jeb can't keep up the pace updates were on with Notch departing (we had around 8 or so updates in 2-3 months). I know they are hiring a AI specialist in December, or January but that isn't for another month or two.

I understand that I will become accustomed to it because my memory of the previous sounds will fade and I won't have an accurate way to compare the two. But that doesn't mean I cannot speak about it now.

LOL man let one go once a while. You just invalidated your argument with the flat Earth and phones stuff. So yup there are people who don't know what phones are and that doesn't make phones new. But it's still new to them!
But I give you credit for the fact that some people were beta-testing prereleases during a beta test... lolwut? Doesn't really make sense.

I'm looking at new in a non subjective term and using it in via time. These additions have been out for awhile now, they're not new because they have been out for over a month. Just because it's new to someone does not mean it's actually new, because the feature, or idea, has actually been around for some time now. You have to differentiate the idea of new and how it applies to learning (humans for example, and new in the way that it was created.

It's new to me. I couldn't be arsed to download something that wasn't official. I found the video quite helpful.

Yet you didn't see it on the forums, on youtube, or on the wiki? I understand that not everyone compulsively checks their news feeds but I can't even go to yahoo, facebook, or youtube without seeing all the crap about the new iphone, steve jobs dying, etc.
