The "don't use x feature" argument is terrible as it doesn't take into account the time taken to create these features. The time taken to make the end, enchanting, and potions could have been spent on modding API, creating better AI, or optimizing the game.
I don't hate the features, I just think they're useless. Minecraft already has items that degrade over time, now you want to incorporate potions (that are a pain to create) and enchanting to the mix? If those had been in the game from the start I could see them having a use, however for those of us who have survived and prospered without such enhancements I find no reason to use them,

Mar 22, 2012I stopped playing for 3-4 months as other games sucked me in. 1.0 just didn't grab me, and the game began to feel redundant, however I came back around the time 1.2 came out and although much hasn't changed (especially the complaints about the game) I get this feeling that it's dead to me. Most of my favorite texture pack artists quit working on their packs, and the forum is just filled with fan updates.Posted in: Survival Mode
Minecraft used to be the main game I played, however it has become nothing more than a stop gap until I find another game to play as the magic has died.

How can I turn off motion blur?
Sonic Ether Folder -> Mods -> Shaders -> Contents -> Files -> Shaders -> Final.FSH file
Scroll down till you see
#define MOTIONBLUR_AMOUNT 0.5

Could be due to the transparency within the leaves causing the game to crash, maybe not having enough memory or requiring too many resources.
Mar 20, 2012FailedToOpen posted a message on [32x][1.2.5]~Iridescent Dreams~ (WIP) Mellow version added (4/27)The grass/dirt feel too hard to me and has this very unnatural feel to it. They have nice definition, and probably have the sharpest looking textures from what I've seem but they feel glued together. The sharpness leaves this hardness in the transition between "layers". Mostly it's due to the 2-3 colors that make up many of the textures but I understand the restraints.Posted in: Resource Packs
The jungle wood is also... kinda ugly.
Didn't mean to sound negative, but grass/dirt is probably the most frequently viewed texture in the game so it's all I've been seeing the for the past hour.

Other light sources than sun being non-existent & very dark is an issue in my opinion too. Hopefully this gets changed.
Torches work under certain conditions. If it's day outside torches have little to no affect as the light from the sun drowns out the light from the torches. When it's night, or when you're in a cave light still emits from sources as there is no competition.
The system actually works when looked at realistically as many times during daylight most light sources (like car lights, or phones) aren't noticeable. The problem occurs with shadows, or light sources in houses. This is a minor annoyance as having light coming from a torch under an overhang would limit the effect that the shadows have.

What texture pack is that?
Ovos' rustic texture pack.

Whooh! I love this mod!
As far as what I experienced, default gives you 10+ FPS, however, the Lite version only gives you single-digit FPS (1-9).
I guess the motion blur affects your FPS, I’m not sure, however the Default is better than the Lite version. Ultra is single-digit FPS (of course). For now, that’s my assumption from my experience, and that is what I say to motion-blur-haters!
Edit: There is “little non-Minecraft pixels” (that’s what I describe it) in the shadow/non-shadow transition. It’s not very noticeable until you look closely at it, or for some random reason it just catches your eye. I’m not sure it is because I have an AMD Radeon graphics card, or just a part of Minecraft’s-render-crap-stuff, or a part of the mod, but it is there. And that’s what I can say.
(On a side note, from what I’ve heard, ATI Radeon (is that what it’s called?) graphics card is horrible for some stuff. The only way it is great for is Fraps capture fastest crap which nobody gives a flying f*ck about (and those who do give a f*ck just give a f*ck for some random reason). It’s not like it’s the worst graphics card in the world.)
I have a 5850 and while it isn't the best card in the world it manages to get me through. In terms of ATI cards being trash I can't really say. From my knowledge Developers don't always optimize as much for ATI/AMD cards as they do Nvidia, but I've never experienced it, nor have I ever had the ability to test it.
As for my FPS I get a consist 30, and I'll get 40 if I don't have chrome, steam, and itunes open. I've never noticed any drop or increase in framerate when increasing/decreasing draw distance, or changing texture packs. I could play on default and still get 30 or play on a 128 and still get 30. The only thing I've ever noticed that helped was disabling transparent leaves, especially in jungles as that crap is killer.
Minecraft is already poorly optimized, especially with how it renders. Throw on a shader made by (basically) one guy, playing on one rig and you get even more unoptimization. Not saying that it's sonic's fault, however he doesn't have access to large scale beta testers, or multiple rigs.
