posted a message on [GUIDE] Increase Overall Performance In Minecraft
    Quote from Bulls729

This is a Crosspost from the Redit I made yesterday here

Please know that I am running on Windows 7 x64 SP1 (Bootcamp on MBP) on a 3.06Ghz Mobile Core 2 Duo with 4.0GB of Ram and an NVIDIA 512MB GeForce 9600m GT with the latest drivers

I was using Java 1.6.0_21x64 and the performance on Minecraft was very good, their was the occasional lag but nothing too bad. After I installed Java 1.7.0b107 I noticed my performance in Minecraft improved dramatically (IMO) from what was already decent performance. I do apologize however that I do not have an before and after on what the FPS was.

If you would like to try this to see if performance changes for you please go here.

CAUTION: These are Beta and Development builds, if you have other Java applications that stop functioning after applying any of these updates, please revert back.

NOTE FOR X64: Download and install both the x86 and x64 versions.

    Download Links & Locations:

    Windows

    Java 1.7.0b108 x86

    Java 1.7.0b108 x64

    Linux & Solaris (Including SPARC)

    Linux & Solaris x86/x64

    Apple (DEV RELEASES)

NOTE: These releases are not 1.7, they are just the most recent versions of Java that Apple has posted to this date, sorry if this mislead anybody.

I have found through Apple Connect the following:

    "Java Developer Preview 10M3222+9M3222
Updates Java SE 6 to 1.6.0_21 on Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.5, and updates J2SE 5.0 to 1.5.0_24 on 10.5. Download the Base and Developer packages for your OS, and install the Base package first. Please read the release notes for more details.

    OS X 10.6

    OS X 10.5

Yo, I tried to download it, but it says the link is broken. why?

Lol it almost sounds like it's doing a process which, by definition, is an oxymoron.

    Good stuff.

ok, well, how do you stop the process/fix it? (jus wonderin')

posted a message on Problem with lag
So, I have this really weird problem. I have a Dell Latitude D630 laptop, and when I have it plugged in, it lags like heck. But when I unplug it, I go from around 5 fps, to around 30 fps. Can anyone give me a hint on why this would happen? ( yes, my graphics suck, and i have to have everything on lowest, with optifine to play. integrated, ugh! :sad.gif: ) Anyway, I find it painfully slow, as anybody else would. Almost not worth playing.... The worst thing about it is, that my battery is having problems with charging, even though it holds a charge! :angry.gif: :sad.gif:
    Please help!

    I found it here ---> http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/606524-minecraft/answers?qid=259416
Anyways, the answer to this error is (assuming you don't want to go to the link)
    1. go to control panel
    2. click dispaly and click settings
    3. click advanced and a window should pop up there will be a dragger, drag it to the third one from the left and press ok.
4.play minecraft! (note: you will probably have to switch it back to full to play other advanced games.)

:Diamond: :Diamond: :Diamond: :Diamond: to EmmanuelPSP2 for posting this solution! :smile.gif:

Now me and my bro can play on our server!! :laugh.gif:

    I have the same problem.
    This is the minecraft diagnostics.

    Bad video card drivers!
    -----------------------

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

The weird thing is, it started doing this a couple nights ago, when it worked before. Iv'e updated the drivers from Dell, so i dont know. I have a Dell Latitude D630.
Update: I have the 945 Dell chipset, and I have an external monitor, which I plugged in, and started minecraft, and it runs fine! But, i take it off, and vualla, i have the same problem! I know it has something to do with the external being set as default monitor, though every thing else runs fine without the external. I'm sorta lost here, so if any body has a solution, please help! Diamonds in advance! :smile.gif:

I used to have the same problem. The most common responses (new mouse, clicking differently etc.) didn't work. I'm not an expert on this, but here's what I know:
Minecraft generates 'chunks'from the seed, and saves the differences you make to those chunks, whether it be removing or placing blocks. If the amount of changes in your viewing distance is high, it can start to lag the game when you try and edit it. The game thinks you clicked again in the lag, and places another block to compensate. Here's a couple of possible solutions:
    1. Save and quit and go right back into the game. Not sure why, but this sometimes worked for me.
    2. If you're rich, get a better computer (lol)
    3. Check how much RAM you're allowing Javascript to use. The default setting is often too low, and the game has to redirect to the harddrive, causing the problematic editing lag.
That 3rd one is what worked with me. Lemme know what happens.
    Peace \../_<(:sleep.gif:)>_\../

How do you change the amount of ram Javascript uses?

Just a quick update, this problem still exists in version 1.8.1.

I have not yet tried if Optimime/Optifog fixes the issue in the newest release.

I'm pretty sure optifine only works for 1.8.1 and down. Maybe they made a new one.

Yeah, I didn't have that problem until i got version 1.0.0, and it does this almost always. I'm working on a castle, and it keeps doing this. I'm going to try Trolliwonder's suggestion. my specs are:
    Model:Dell Latitude d630
    Processor: Dual Core T7500 @2.20ghz 2.20ghz
    OS: Windows 7 32- bit
Graphics: 256 mb 965 intel graphics
    Ram: 2.50 Gb
This is an extremly annoying problems. Makes minecraft hardly worth playing.
I have read every post, and yes, I do have 32- bit java
