Yes, the government can revoke the patent, but the burden is on the party being sued to present evidence that the patent should be invalidated. I already provided evidence three pages ago that pre-dates the Uniloc patent by a decade and pretty much has all the same features in the claim in question.

Invalidate the 6857067 patent with 5553143 (Ross).
Sorry I haven't been able to make a proper argument with citations, but it should all be there. I'll look for more tomorrow.

inre assaultmaster post #507: the specification doesn't matter. Claim 107 doesn't comprise a smart card. This '067 patent application should have been restricted as genus/species.

Also, it can be argued that the '067 patent is no longer valid under 35 USC 101, but I'm not sure if that ruling is retroactive. Code is not necessarily non-transient or tangible.

Oh, it pushes you more? Sucks. I was hoping it pushed items faster, but didn't slow you down more. But yeah, a foot of strong current could push a car. And speed should be based on depth as well as weight (has armor), hence dropped items moving faster.

But Notch's tutorial description sounds a lot different. It sounds a lot more like the info pages you get on monsters and items in an RPG. A glossary, a wiki.
Dirt: This can be mined by hand. Grass grows on it when adjacent to other grass in sunlight. It can be tilled to be fertile for wheat.
Smooth Rock: This can be mined by wooden pickaxes or better. It becomes cobblestone when mined and can be created by forging cobble.
    Boring.
Here is the crafting tech tree. Complete the crafting shown to obtain the next recipe.
    Boring.

Try the map, see what it's like. You drop into a world and you have no idea what the buttons are. Oh, heres a sign that says WADS arranged in 4 directions. Oh, that moves me. Hey, theres a sign ahead, lets walk to it. Mouse button controls! Hmm, it looks like a door here, i should probably use my new information and dig through. Hmm, it tells me to jump, but I have nothing to jump on to get to the next room. What do I have to use? Well I just mined two dirt blocks. If I place them correctly, I can jump my way out of here. So on...

posted a message on [WIP]Tutorial Map
I started trying to build a tutorial map. The purpose of the map is to try to demonstrate almost all of what is possible in minecraft to someone who knows NONE of the controls. Since the game is sandbox and exploration, I've tried to make each tutorial room contain some of these aspects.

    http://www.mediafire.com/?1ihmjp6x5jdmx8b

    Room 0: Movement
    Room 1: Dig/Place
    Room 2: Placement/Jumping
Room 3: Crafting with wood, Discovering the ladder

I don't have much time to work on this, so hopefully someone can help me finish this if you think this is a good way to do a tutorial. Next would be (IMO): Wood pickaxe, mining stone, furnace, smelting 3 iron, buckets remove lava out of your way, ????

The point being, Notch's blog post suggested that there would be more menus. I think it would be a bit better for players to feel like they're discovering, rather than told exactly how to do things. However, this balance is difficult. Discoveries cannot be too hard to obtain.

P.S.: I left a bunch of stuff in inventory that was for building. Ignore that for purposes of going through the tutorial.

I don't think minecart/tracks were touched. I recall Notch stating that he was surprised that tracks worked as much as they do now. I'm surprised boosters even work.
Yeah, we all know these issues.

redstone only works with at least 1 torch in the system.
Water will flow from sea, but not into spawn area. Nor will it flow from bucketed water.

Did you check your internal IP again? It might have changed since you reconnected to the router on restart.

I've heard many of the issues are based off how lighting affects block updates.

I heard playing on the same machine as the host causes a bit of confusion. Adding another person on the same router doesn't help either. The entire world lighting changes is a lot of change.

a full circuit the redstone blocks don't update without you putting a torch close to it

So thats why lighting a wire with flint seems to activate it...

I have no idea why, but I seem to have solved this.
The only way the torch underblock works is when the torchblock is lit from the side. Or maybe it's the orientation of the torch. Whatever it may be, it's weird. And I wired it up from starting with an off position.

EDIT: except now, apparently iron doors can get stuck to the side of the wall much like how torches do. If you switch the door open and then switch close, it remains looking open but it will glitch you back.

I see nothing wrong with this, yet it just won't work. I tested whether doors work like this above ground and it works, but this particular one just won't work.
