This sounds like it has potential to be pretty good, and MAYBE even a solution people can be generally happy with (or at least get used to over time like is typically the case with most updates). That being said... I think I'll wait to watch videos showcasing this.

The command thing sounds like something SOMEONE will do. Bright side though: It's ALL getting broken at once instead of a little at a time over the course of a few updates.

Oct 12, 2017FLYGUY1 posted a message on Merge Your Minecraft Forum Account With TwitchPosted in: News
It doesn't matter what you twitch name is as merging to a twitch account doesn't change your minecraft forum name. It especially doesn't matter what your twich name is if you don't care about using a twitch account for anything but logging in here. You will be logging in with a twitch account, but if you use the same email and password as your minecraft forum account then that also won't matter since you would be typing in the same login information.
To quote the post:
....your Minecraft Forum nickname will remain the same. Your posts, subscriptions, messages and servers will be unchanged. After merging accounts, you’ll simply log in to the forum using your Twitch credentials
A lot of people are blowing this out of proportion, but it really isn't a big deal. An inconvenience for sure, but nothing to abandon ship over.

It's likely not that, or just that anyway. If it was that, no games would have cross play with ps4. However, there are games have cross play with ps4 like rocket lea1gue

This sounds more like an excuse than a reason.

Huh, I hadn't noticed it didn't line up before. Nice edit btw, I agree with you on that is how the block should look.
Also, I've noticed they line up quite well underneath diagonal rails

I quit watching the stream. Terrible audio and constant screaming makes it painful to watch.
I'm not going to judge the game based on this (because I only watched till they started doing that handshake thing), but they clearly didn't prepare well enough to live stream.
While I'm sure it's just me being nitpicky, I noticed they used sound effects in the wrong places a lot, even in the first few minutes.

I think my favorite use of the off hand (excluding torch and pickaxe) so far is being able to place things rails under you without switching blocks.
With dirt and rails on your off hand you will place dirt, and the rails wont be placed, unless you right click a spot where dirt can't go, but rails can. rails will be placed instead then (which is basically just on the block you are standing on)
Useful for making straight rail lines without having to go over floating sections multiple times

It depends, if im just playing minecraft because im listening to a podcast that has nothing interesting to look at, I usually just strip mine. However, if im playing minecraft to actually play minecraft, then I just explore caves to see what I find.
One thing I think they should add to vanilla is a pickaxe with a bigger mining area. like, you mine a stone wall, and it will mine a 3x3 area or something (perhaps an enchantment).

I mostly play as an adventurer. Fighting mobs, exploring the world for all of its interesting sights and treasures, having epic adventures either alone or with friends. Actually, I usually prefer playing with friends so adventuring with a small group is something I really enjoy

I would also like to add Starbound to this. Starbound is a terraria like game, but it have quite a few differences.
Pros: A literal universe to explore, different races that can give quests and make the worlds feel lived in, the tool you use to break blocks upgrades to be faster AND break in a bigger radius, steam workshop compatibility which means tons of other content of every aspect (texture packs, new weapons, new/ changed mechanics, new races, ect.) that are very easy to install. You can beam up to your ship at any point no matter where you are on the planet, you set teleport markers to get to your favorite planets from anywhere in the universe. A good variety of weapons that vary even within their own category.
Cons: The boss fights can be difficult (or maybe I just suck) but that could b be a good thing to some people. You will likely find a lot of weapons that are too weak to be effectively used because you have something stronger already.. The best way to get fuel needed to travel between solar systems is on moons that are filled with immortal insta-kill monsters that are attracted to anyone carrying any fuel.
Also for minecraft's cons, the enderman can be stopped by toggling the mobgriefing gamerule. However this means that no mob can break any blocks (creepers, endermen, withers, ect.) so that could be it's own problem. They don't break many blocks anyway, and I believe (but not 100% sure) they can't even break blocks placed by you.
The only realistically limited space is the height limit, which is like around 250-ish and the highest mountains barely go up to 100 (if even that high) which is quite a bit of space unless you want to build something REALLY tall.
I haven't really encountered many trolls in my time playing (which on some individual servers alone is easily over 100 hours of non-afk play time)
The price varies per version, however the PC is the most expensive which isn't that bad when you consider the sheer amount of things to do in the game.
and the a lack of instruction isn't a problem in every version. The console versions all have tutorials (and the mobile versions might, but I don't personally know). However, the PC has a very extensive wiki that very competently explains every mechanic and aspect of the game you could possibly have a question about. The worst part is you have to tab out of the game every now and then if you have questions.

It did not end, at least not according to minecraft.net (specifically the store in the desktop sections. LINK)

Here is a search for vanilla servers on this sites server listings: Link!
Btw, how vanilla are you talking? because most servers will at least have stuff that prevents grief.
Are you looking for a server with NO plugins at all, or a server with no plug ins that affect the game?

This would be interesting. As long as snow in warmer biomes was aesthetic only (doesn't place snow or freeze water) I'd be for that.

That looks like a server plugin enchanting system, and certainly is not vanilla.

Try turning the settling to be less intensive. Lower the render distance, turn of graphics to fast, turn off particles. Try making sure you aren't running anything else in the background. Oh, also laptops typically have power modes. Ensure you're playing in a high performance mode.
Perhaps also try pressing F3+ A often. This reloads the chunks, and will cause chunks that are further away from you to become unloaded (since they will be out of your render distance).

Well, I don't know too much about what perks (maybe they get to have KeepInventory during their reign?)
What I do know is this system should be not only rewarding but also engaging. I would personally also make it set up so the same player can't stay the king forever. To make it rewarding, give the king things that only the king can have. Making it engaging would be a bit harder.
Assuming you have some kind of competition that occurs on a regular basis. Maybe the current king has a hand in planning that event, for example. This would create a sense of adding to the community for the players who are lucky/ skilled enough to become king.
So, what kind of system would you be using to choose the king?
Edit: I ask, because the process of becoming king has a lot to do with what type of player will participate, and will affect how "worth it" the benefits of becoming king is to the potential kings.

So, a normal world but all flat? you have 2 options:
1: make a superflat world. Use the "overworld" preset for mining space and underground structures to spawn.
2: make a world that has a custom preset of only plains spawning.
Also, I believe the discussion area is a better place for this thread.
Here is info on both:
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Customized#Basic_settings
http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Superflat#Presets
Edit: I think it's worth noting, generating a customized plains world would be less flat than a superflat. However both would not have mountains or any major obstacles to get in the way of building. The plains world would look more "normal" though.

What makes you think MC is dieing? You used MinePlex as an example, but as I looked right now (approx. 7pm est) it has like 8,000+ people on it.
According to minecraft.nets stats they've sold several thousand today alone. LINK
Several other servers on my list that have been there for a year or more has consistently had plenty of people on and donating to keep the server alive.
Looking at the servers tab of this very site, I see many servers with a lot of people on it. Just because a few servers have shut down over all and less youtubers are playing it consistently (although a ton of youtubers still play MC) doesn't mean it's dieing. Stop with all the doom and gloom.

I did a quick google search, which led me to to Dinnerbone's twitter and from there I found a link to a Reddit post that talked about it. There is a download link on the reddit post for it.
However, it isn't done as far as I can tell and is in a snapshot like state where they are getting the community to help test it.

The gamepedia says no, unless you use a custom spawner and set the range to what you need it at: Spawner Link

yeah, no online play makes sense I guess. I'm not really against it as long as it doesn't save guest data but I could see people not liking the idea. Local multiplayer however, it would make sense to save guest data. I think it also makes sense for the world to save any guest data with the user that has the guest.
For controller support, I think it would either be adding console UI to PC and make an option to switch between them, or just making the direction buttons on controller move perfectly between inventory slots and the analog stick free move. Both would work, but the latter would work without implementing a 2nd UI.
With the switchable UI, one would have the crafting recipes viewable in game while the other wouldn't so I could see people complain about that. I saw butthurt comments when console versions first came out and had recipes in the crafting menu, and those are different versions on different hardware. Think if the same version did that.).

I fully agree with this. The only problem is, what happens to a guest's inventory when they leave? Let's say for online play, the way guests are named with a (1) after the main player's username. So I am Flyguy1, and my guests would be Flyguy1(1), Flyguy1(2), Flyguy1(3), ect. (yes, the way xbox live handles guests). How would online play deal with guests?
I would imagine a guest account for a player wouldn't be able to keep the player data past logout. So let's say Flyguy1 and Flyguy1(1) play for a while on a server. We logout and later play again. When we log back on, Flyguy1 spawns where he logged out at with his stuff like normal and Flyguy1(1) logs in at spawn with nothing.
Also, I have wanted controller support for so long. The only problem is it would be a bit more awkward on PC, where it doesn't have the controller friendly crafting menus and such.

Responses in bold. The reason of "because it adds challenge" alone is not enough to justify something like this.

I hope you're correct about that, an updated nether would be interesting.
