posted a message on Any way to move buildings within the same map?

You could also use the Litematica mod, which does work with 1.14 and below. Although with any in-game way to save and paste schematics of your builds, it can/ will cause lag. For me personally, trying to paste a schematic that is TOO big will crash the game (but, my computer is on the older side, and the area that causes crashing is pretty huge). I know there is software that can be used to edit maps outside of the game, but I don't know much about them, or what they're called.

    Link to litematica: Here

posted a message on How to colour the inside of walls but not the outside

Well, he did specify a way to do it without making the walls 2 blocks thick, although I do agree that would be the easiest way.

Hexalobular mentioning maps made me remember a plugin my server has if you're playing on a server. it's called artmap or something. Search it up, I don't know much about it because I don't use it, but it might be the answer you're looking it

Maybe hang banners outside? That's the only vanilla thing I can think of that might work. There isn't a way to paint blocks in vanilla, although it's possible plugins, mods or command block stuff that is beyond me could hold the answer, but that's only speculation.

posted a message on Can I disable monster spawning in a specific area?

You could change the biome to a mushroom biome and add passive mob spawners in maybe? That way passive mobs still spawn, and no hostile ones do.. The wiki lists it as a temperate/ lush biome, meaning it'll rain anywhere under the build limit.

The drawbacks of that would be that mooshrooms spawn in those areas and you would be limited to entire chunks, meaning the passive area might not be the specific size you want it to be.

The only other thing I can think of is lighting, like highlyze said.

posted a message on How to make players lose all items on death without dropping them

Maybe make them keep inventory (/gamerule keepinvetory true), but make players walk over a command block with a pressure plate on top that clears the player's inventory when they respawn (/clear)? I wouldn't know any better ways off hand, and this way will require respawning to be in some sort of room so they can't jump over the /clear pressure plate so it might not be a viable option for your game.

You could always look through the commands wiki page to see if something there will help. Otherwise, try looking for a plugin that will help.

posted a message on Have snapshots ruined the hype of new updates ?

There tends to be hype around the snapshots themselves, then a second wave of hype (that is usually smaller) when it's "really here" and people start making mods for the new version/ updated already existing mods and server plugins are updated so the server can update to the newest version. This is a big part of it since server regulars tend to like multiplayer more then singleplayer.

Plus what 1337Walrus said; Every update would be super buggy. That, or they would take MUCH longer to release given that WE act as QA for them by playing and reporting bugs and stuff in the snapshots at a much faster rate than actual QA testers could do because of our sheer numbers

posted a message on Looking for suggestions, Quest items and Random World Treasure

While I'm not suggesting any specific things atm, a good idea could be to get ideas from the players on your server if you're not doing so already. Taking suggestions of the players who are going to be playing with the stuff you add will help ensure it's well received. It already sounds like it could be awesome but, from a player's perspective, finding something that you suggested is a pretty fun experience.

posted a message on License question.

I don't believe there is anything like that. There is split screen on console however (info here). In order for him to play with you on java version though, he will need his own account (and email). You could use any old emails you have access to to set up his minecraft account though to avoid setting up a new one (the email can be changed later at mojang's website. Here is the link).

Also, windows 10 edition does not seem to have split screen capability, despite how convenient it would be here.

posted a message on Suggestions for survival server?

OH an idea just came to me. You should ask your player base.

Maybe create some kind of poll with some ideas, or just in game ask for feedback and what they want to see added/ changed about the server. I mean, who better to ask what should be on a server than the people playing on it?

posted a message on Suggestions for survival server?

All of my suggestions are based on players being able to /warp to places and then get back to their base with /home (or equivalent commands)

Perhaps host fun events that engage players. One a server I've played on for a while, the staff occasionally have everyone warp to a specific area and go through a series of minigames. Stuff like parkour and various pvp events sprinkled with giveaways and loot drops to keep our attention between rounds.

You could also host build contests. Those are pretty popular with players who like to show off their skills.

I DO suggest against making things/ resources harder to get. That just typically drives people (especially new ones) away.

Perhaps look on a forum for that server, or maybe even ask other players of that server in game. Otherwise I doubt you will find the info you're looking for.

Welcome to the forums. Lots of interesting minecraft related discussions happen here. I also spend a lot of time in minecraft exploring, it's can be very fun, especially when you play on a custom world with crazy terrain generation settings.

posted a message on Star Wars Server Ideas needed- Sith Lords appearance: Name of the server: factions? Input needed!

I have an idea for the name! StarCraft!

    ...oh wait....

Well, how would you make multiple planets work? Perhaps use a plugin that lets you have multiple overworlds and generate custom worlds that only have one biome? I don't actually know if it is possible, but I suggest this specifically because that's typically how planets are in star wars: each planet only has one type of terrain. The way to get between worlds would be on a spaceship (obviously ones based on star wars spaceships).

Oh, and since players can be jedi or sith, perhaps either faction can have custom mob sith/ jedi (the opposite alignment of each faction) spawn occasionally as difficult world bosses.

Like, a sith lord can spawn somewhere in a jedi controlled territory and the jedi have to work together to fight it off and the opposite for the sith controlled territories.

Or maybe a sith lord/ jedi master can spawn in uncontested territory and the two factions have to work to defeat/ protect the mob. If the mob gets a certain number of kills or lives long enough, the allied side gets a reward and if it's defeated quickly, the enemies get a reward.
