Good point. I have noticed, that if I spawn to swamp, there will be mountains and Dark Forests closeby too. Quite frequently, actually (but I also have had Jungles generate next to Mountains and other colder biomes).

The game would need better biome generation, there's no denying that.

That's actually baby turtle, if I am not mistaken. They hatch pretty small, but I haven't never seen them spawn naturally on any version of the game...

But that doesn't mean, that they wouldn't spawn naturally.

I disagree with you. My current single player world has nearly all biomes within 2000 to 3000 block radius from the spawn, and I actually like the world generation the way it is now (minus the mountains, can't wait to the new mountain generation coming in Caves & Cliffs part 2).

You also can set the game to have "large biomes", when starting new world, so it wouldn't feel as claustrophobic.

But be prepared to end up in the middle of gigantic mountain biome or birch biome (which I personally like, but I'm bit weird anyway).

While I indeed don't agree with you. I can't claim, that you would be the only one who has nostalgic feelings towards the world generation of Alpha and Beta versions of the game.

In the end, everyone has their own preferences.

posted a message on Release date for 1.17?

Slicedlime (Java version Tech lead) did tweet yesterday, that they ran into an unexpected problem. And didn't release snapshot yesterday because of that. But in that same tweet he said, that they're going to release pre-release for 1.17 today.

So, it might be ready to be released at some point in June.

    -village and pillage

    MY OPINIONS:

The textures. oh my gosh the textures... WHY. dull. boring. contrasting in the wrong way. too smooth for minecraft. minecraft is BLOCK GAME, not smooth retro top-of-the-line pixel art. I have nothing against the art as a whole, it just doesn't fit minecraft, it genuinely feels dull. Additionally villagers became too overpowered and predictable, trades are too cheap for too much. villages look better, but that isn't necessarily good, it makes the player feel as if the world is built for them, and not the player building the world for themselves, if the villages are already incredible, there is no need to build a base or anything to improve the world. Also when you find a village you essentially have infinite food (bread) from the hey bales. the update isn't well thought out from a game play perspective.

You do know, that you can still use the old textures, right? You can find them under Resource Packs menu as "Programmer Art".This is exactly the same thing, as with the launcer: Mojang still let's you play whichever version you want. And they still let you play with old textures. Whining about the textures, and new stuff added, when you can play either old versions, or with old textures is quite frankly redundant. Of course, that's the case with Java edition only. Bedrock pretty much makes you play with new stuff and textures... Another reason why I prefer Java, btw.

    -nether update

    MY OPINIONS:

why mojang, why you gotta do me like that? NETHERITE? N-E-T-H-E-R-I-T-E? they just dated every single minecraft LP, SMP, post, everything. Diamonds have always been the best, and now... netherite? bribery to get me to check out your awful nether "revamp"? it seems like they just WANT a bunch of clickbaity titles "FOUND NETHERITE AT 3AM??? (GONE WRONG) (I LOST MY STUFF)" They just want to be more popular, which don't get me wrong is good from a buisness perspective, but what it feels like is just a simple pump and dump scheme, which is harsh wording but you get the point. Also why did they have to rename pigmen, really? don't BS me and tell me that it's for "inclusiveness"... it's for headlines, it's a lame attempt at rebranding for popularity.

Really. You nitpick about stuff, that's COMPLETELY, like C-O-M-P-L-E-T-E-L-Y optional to use? Don't like it? Don't use it. It's nothing else, than slight durability upgrade to diamonds anyways. Awful nether revamp? From what? That extremely boring and pretty much useless old nether, that didn't have anything other worthwile in there, than Nether Fortresses? The old Nether was criminally neglegted, when compared to overworld, at least now there's something worthwile in there.

The game is not minecraft anymore, it's more traditional, like terraria. don't get me wrong, terraria is great, but terraria is in no way minecraft. And don't even get me started on the dream smp and mcYT. It just feels like minecraft is not the same as it was in 2012, I know games change, but this isn't just natural change, it's bad management. and don't tell me that they can't please everyone, because they had been for the last 10 years, and don't tell me to just play old versions, because I do that already and it's not the same knowing what the future holds for the game. Sorry if that came off really heated, I'm just pissed at microsoft.

You can be as pissed to Microsoft, as you want to. But the truth still is, that they don't add anything to the game. Nor do they remove anything. They bought Mojang as well, and are letting Mojang handle the development of the game. Microsoft only bough Mojang (and Minecraft) to get the money out of the game. That's all they're interested about the game. In other words: Mojang is part of Microsoft game studios now.

And of course Minecraft isn't the same it was in 2012. Every game evolves. Except EA Sports games. But that's besides the point and off topic, so that's all from that.

Good thing, that you stated, that these are your opinions. Majority of your points can be nullified by my earlier lines, that I added between some of your points on the quote block: "Mojang still let's you play whichever version you want. And they still let you play with old textures". And from here we get to on of my age old points: Most of the stuff added lately is for builders, and explorers (like me). Like you have stated, these are your opinions. Some people (like you) find the new stuff flashy, when some people (like me, for example) welcomes the new stuff. There's not much, that can really be added to the game anymore, that wouldn't of been already added by modders at some point in time. Some people just don't want to mod the game, and therefor naturally want new content. Of course on the other hand, there's people, like you. People, who are so deep in their nostalgia about older versions, that they will see whatever new stuff Mojang is adding to the game as "unnecessary". While indeed change isn't always good, but in Minecraft's case (which still let's you play whichever the bloody version you want to play, mind you, and you already stated, that you play old versions, so what's the problem then?) the game would of died long ago, if your kind of people would of been in charge of it.

Games die, if there aren't anything new added. Not when there's something new added.

But then again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I aplaud you from your opinions, but like I said. You can still play old versions, if you want.

Mojang isn't making you to play newer stuff, if you don't want to.

Honestly I'm beginning to doubt more and more the ability of Microsoft to make not bad updates, like don't get me wrong, updates from the last 3 years have been pretty awful, but this is just the cherry on the cake... wow

Sorry if this feels rude but I don't get it. What was so bad about the previous updates? What about each update did you not like? and what's wrong with the current update?

Plus not to mention, that Microsoft actually isn't the one making the updates. It's still Mojang. Microsoft doesn't do jack to the game, they just oversee their investment. Plus, it's kinda redundant to blame Mojang from "bad" updates. When they have been lately adding stuff, that has been voted to be added to the game by the players.

    Do you mean this blackstone?

Imo it's fine. But i prefer to play minecraft with 0 brightness.

That's pretty much Black if ya ask me.
Deepslate doesn't even need to be super black. It's also fine as is.
But if someone doesn't like the textures you can make your own textures and make them darker. Problem solved.

And moody (0 brightness) is how I play the game too.

If you're playing on Java type this command on chat box (you need to enable cheats for that, though): /gamerule doFireTick false.

    Problem solved.

posted a message on Opinions on Bundle and Copper
    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

As far as bundles go, I see very little use for them since most of the resources I collect are in far greater quantities than a single stack, and they can apparently only hold a single unstackable item so they are useless for things like tools, horse armor, and enchanted books; for example, this is what my ender chest may look like after a caving session; I'd be able to save only 2 slots if the diamonds, rails, and name tag were in a bundle (for comparison, my "rail" and "cobweb" blocks achieve far greater space savings; 63 rail blocks at 9 rails each and the 8 rails in my inventory is 9 stacks of rails and 85 cobweb blocks at 4 cobwebs each is 6 stacks of cobwebs, so that's 11 slots saved):

Well. Bundle's are considered as early game storage solution for few stackable items, so your inventory wouldn't get cluttered by several different items so fast. But once you start to collect resources in greater quantities, the Bundle does turn obsolete quite fast. Thanks to the fact, that it only holds 64 items (16 if talking about signs or ender pearls, and only 1 if it's not stackable item, like you already stated)

I personally like the idea of the Bundle. But once I am through the initial phases, I doubt anyone would hardly use them.

posted a message on Notch apples must come back

    Few things:

    1. There already is discussion about this here.
    2. The "Notch Apples" are still in the game. You just need to find them from either dungeon chests (though I have never found any from dungeon chests) or from Desert Temple loot chests.
    3. They only removed the crafting recipe for them, due to them being overpowered. At the same time they nerfed them, though.
    4. It's not actually worth it to craft what's essentially enchanted Golden Apple with 8 blocks of gold. Literally waste of gold as it is now.

Surely looks, like she's holding back tears to me as well. Respectable decision, anyways.

Well, first part should be released at Summer and 2nd part is now slated for Holidays (as in closer to the end of the year).

I highly doubt, that any passive mob (sheep, cows, chicken, horses, rabbits), villages or any kind of temples would spawn/generate in what's basically going to be underground biome... Abandoned mineshafts should generate on them... Though the underground biomes themselves doesn't spawn on normal survival worlds yet.

There is snapshots, but not all of the features are in. And this could've been put into 1.17 update opinion thread.

What I have seen for now, I do like the upcoming update, though.

Just thought about asking this: Is anyone else able to enchant anything in the 21w10a?
For some reason, it doesn't give me any enchantment choices (the 3 slots are empty for me, and nothing helps). Or is it just me?

Even tried on fresh world, and still same. Huh.
