    My progress so far:

    beginning: either I missed a chest or I was given no equipment at all outside of the wheat. >.< Given the number of spiders and stuff that were spawning that night that was overkill. Also didn't have the new snapshot so could you at least put what difficulty to change it to manually on the signs? I've been doing easy.

    3 lever puzzle: looks straightforward...tried every combination. what?

    PIG!: I have no idea how I was supposed to avoid him being a pigcusion besides looting the dispensers. Then there was a lava thing I had to jump over. Pigs can't jump. Never did figure out what to do with him, I think I needed him to stand on one of the tripwires for a piston? Either way I got through to...

    a roller coaster ride!: which killed me. This ride definitely needs immediate fixing, especially with no save points before it so I had to run ALL THE WAY BACK. Losing the book to lava also means I can't read the rest, boo. :(

    currently stuck on some puzzle with lava floating over pressure plates. ended up cheating there.

    ...is that really supposed to be Ahuizotl? XD I AM VICTORIOUS. MOOOHUAHAHAHAHA!

    I had two spots where I had an opportunity to successfully nab the silver sapphire, I think one was in/near the lava room I was stuck on. Maybe that's because of the cheating...

    I did get to the end though. Adjust the map a bit so it's completable and this will be a real winner.

    I combed that place a thousand fold, THERE ARE ONLY THREE GOLD BLOCKS. Every nook and cranny I searched was full of cave spider nests (HUNDREDS of spawners, do note these things can't be deterred by lighting them up) but no gold. Couldn't find the reactor or whatever that I was supposed to overload either. 3 gold blocks, lift off.

    While I'm still grumbling about how evil this map is (not even FUN evil) I have to say the finale of blasting off looked really cool. Goodbye, and good riddance. 5/10 for decent, but repetitive architecture, unclear rules (some areas are impossible to get to without placing blocks, like the dropship, but you said don't place blocks!), and incredibly overdone levels of cave spider spawners.

    loot by the end:
    -3/5 gold blocks
    -plenty of torches (which don't deter cave spiders!)
    -plenty of arrows (good luck using a bow when cave spiders are faster than you!)
    -the enchantment table
    -around 12 bookshelves
    -30 golden apples + however many I ate (they helped a little...)
    -bucket

    If you need me I'll be trying a nice laid back map...like Nightmare Realm...

    I can't help but think I'm doing a lot of this in the wrong order. XD some misc stuff I have questions on:


    So there were 5 tears to open the temple of Unda, I found 3 at the temple and one in the pirate captain's chest. Where was the last one? o_O I cheated...

    After said cheating I came across a deep watery pit with 3 lever slots. I found one lever at one point that said it would fit in the skull, and that island is kind of skull-shaped. I found it in a wild goose chase around saltwash bay after bumping into a sign from some guy I've never heard of. I'm not even sure if that WAS one of the levers, and if so, where were the other two? Cheated again, what can I say I'm impatient and really wanted to see what was at the end of the dungeon. >.<

    After Unda tried to kill me, I swore vengeance and went straight "TO THE LAST I GRAPPLE WITH THEE" on that jerk. One thing: the dispensers which spawn skeletons are worse than vechs' hyper spawners in that as soon as one spawns from me, ALL THE REST come out as the pressure plates get hit by the skeletons. Also you might tone down on the arrows flying everywhere, that was laggy.

    The quest system is cool, but a little weird at times. The board just says something straightforward like "get me a shrubbery!" but then I have to interpret which of the quest titles in the hall actually corresponds to that. That's a puzzle in itself, intentional?

    LOVE the ender chests at all the inns. It makes it less necessary to have one firm base of operations. Very key to a huge map like this.

    I've been keeping a notebook (1.3 written book) with me through most of this, it helps a ton in keeping track of the quests and such.


    Having went south and seemingly poked around all the major sites, next stop is north!

    this map is beyond fiendish. Let's leave this feedback in spoilers...

    WHAT KIND OF FETISH DO YOU HAVE FOR CAVE SPIDERS?! It feels like every room I go to I'm just gang raped by thousands of the damn things. about the only hope I've had is using a speed potion AND regen potion to try to push through. usually i end up in a web and die.

    For the longest time I was confused. You really need to make where the dropship is a little more obvious, I had NO IDEA. I found 3 of the gold blocks (which I didn't know were important, but the pickaxes implied I was supposed to take them) before I bumped into that stupid ship, and I had to place blocks in order to get up to it. Mostly some stone and ladders I was given at random intervals (could've sworn we aren't allowed to place blocks..). You could, I don't know, tell me what I'm looking for?! All it said was "find the dropship". Not helpful.

    Also, why am I being given bookshelves, but no enchanting table? Put one on the ship so the bookshelves (and these levels from all these terrible monsters) have a use. I was level 27 by the time I found the ship.

    Bug name: water shoving me into blocks and suffocating me

    Details: sometimes when being pushed into a wall by a water flow, I get jammed into the wall and begin suffocating.
    system: I doubt it matters

    Bug name: unfilled/filled buckets get mixed up
    Version: 1.3.1
    Details: sometimes when placing a bucket of water/lava and picking it up several times, the game gets confused. When I have a "bucket" the source block is actually in my bucket, when I have a "bucket of lava/water" the source block is actually on the ground. tossing it down/picking it up again seems to fix this.
    System: again doubt it matters
    Image: I suppose what you'd see is me holding an "empty" bucket as the lava block continues to flow way further than i wanted...

    Bug name: world holes you can fall in
    Version: 1.3.1
    Details: it's like an old world hole, the whole chunk is missing all the way to the void and you can fall in them and die. usually waiting a while or relogging fixes them. They're particularly annoying when I respawn and my spawn area is a world hole, instantly killing me again. This seems to happen most frequently when exiting the End.

    I have to say the bug where water pushing me against a block suffocates me is an awful pain. That and spider jitteryness makes them almost impossible to hit with a sword. I still say net gain though with the sheer number of features. Wouldn't downgrade in a second.

    Can't wait to see multiplayer once my favorite servers work, there were a lot of obnoxious things there that are finally FIXED. my animals no longer phasing through their cages (as much...) is a good one, along with slimes actually being attackable.

    well toying with the pre-release (1.3 pre-release, SSP only so far) I'd say the worst changes are probably:
    -the giant pitch black spots in the terrain
    -worldholes you can actually fall into and die
    -the incredibly mild latency that's still enough to make timing attacks to avoid taking damage from spiders impossible
    -my bucket sometimes glitching to thinking I have a full lava bucket when its empty and vice versa, so I end up leaving the source block too long and it spreads further than I wanted it to (I like using it as a weapon)

    There are far too many good changes that outweigh these though. Net benefit. Hopefully once 1.3 comes out some of my favorite servers update and I can test how much SMP improved.
