    Alright some misc. stuff I've found in my adventures. This mod is MASSIVE but I think I'm nearing the tail end of it. Lots of questions and stuff for the mod maker.



    Misc items I have no idea what they're for:
    -cicadas
    -mushglooms
    -fiddleheads
    -also found some ruins, a dispenser with some wool, and some sort of lightning ram monster. the ram died in one hit and dropped nothing, so I obviously did something wrong. Was I supposed to do something with the 3 wool in the dispenser?
    -there was a large pond on my map marked with a unique marker. I didn't notice anything special about it. What is this?

    I also fought the basilisk boss which spawned in a dense forest biome. As it crashed through the trees that generated within its arena, it dropped a LOT of blocks, which threatened to crash my computer. I like the aspect of the biome bleeding into the arena, keep that, but can you make the items the boss destroys not drop as items?

    Anyway, more stuff after adventures in the wonderful land of the twilight forest mod. Directed at the mod maker, minor spoilers.

    the hedge maze leaf blocks (which can be collected) are just called "unnamed"

    the uncrafting table recipe (map focus surrounded by crafting tables) makes a firefly in a jar instead. bwuh?

    and my xp sometimes resets when going through the twilight portal

    just some misc feedback after trying it the last couple days:


    Is there any way we could do something with bunnies or squirrels? I'd love to wear them on my head. <3 At the moment they seem useless, but they do add to the scenery.

    the basilisk seems overtuned or I was doing it wrong. I couldn't hit it with my sword very well so I put down patches of lava to try to slow it down and light it on fire. it seemed to be taking damage, but kept teleporting around the whole fight which seemed to clear potion effects. After fighting it for who knows how long, two sets of armor later, IT STILL WASN'T DEAD. I resorted to creative mode and just spamming splash potions of harming, which killed it. It seems like unless you fight it in creative mode that way, the pieces of it don't come off and it never gets any smaller. Did I fight it wrong, or is this fight bugged?

    Also I'm getting awful lag spikes fairly constantly, currently working with:
    -toomanyitems
    -optifine
    -forge (most recent star version)
    -this

    I don't know if those other mods are problematic, shouldn't be, I got optifine to fix this.

    thanks so much for your help. I was going to give up on getting this Twilight Forest mod to work without your assistance. My thread on the subject wasn't getting anywhere.

    And thank you to magic launcher, which is much better than my old method of "Will this mod crash my game and corrupt all my saves?" *tries* "YES IT DOES!! :("

    After having gotten it working since my last post, I can confirm that it does work with the most recent version of Optifine. Specifically "OptiFine HD B3 Ultra for Minecraft 1.3.2".

    it black screened at first because of an unrelated other mod. Edited this post.

    Also make sure ML is not telling you that the minecraft.jar file is modified, it will tell you in the setup screen. If it is do a forced update to get a clean one through MC itself and not ML.

    ETA: Make sure Forge is at the top.


    lo and behold, it still said "no mods found" next to it. Only thing I think I changed was shifting Forge to the top (it used to be below an inactive modloader) and entered the game, the twilight portal has opened, so it's working.

    not sure what happened exactly, guess it was forge being below an inactive modloader?

    well I downloaded it, then went into magic launcher and tried to add it, and it said "no mods found" and doesn't work.

    Firs try the as most likely it will work. ML hasn't had a complete update yet for 1.3.2 so that's the main reason.

    Repackaging it means you have to unzip it using a program like 7zip or WINRar and then zipping it back up again. If you look inside of a zip file and there is a folder inside that says something like "Put into minecraft jar" the contents of that folder have to be extracted then zipped up again. Just right click the folder and select "Extract". Once the new folder is created with the extracted files inside of it, open it up then select all the files then right click and add to zip.

    I made an example video for someone before if you want to watch it to get an idea. I use 7zip, so if you use WINRar it might be a little different.


    specifically I'm attempting to get the Twilight forest mod http://www.minecraft...0#entry17895217 functional, which appears to be the type that you copy into the minecraft mods folder rather than the minecraft.jar. I'm also using WinRAR.

    I'm currently analyzing your post still, but I thought the added specific info might help.

    for the most part this mod has been a complete miracle. I just have one issue:

    "7. Mods which have status "No mods found" needs to be repackaged to be used. The mod ZIP file usually have a folder "put_in_minecraft_jar" or similar which contains one or more files like "acx.class". The contents of this folder have to be zipped in a separate ZIP file and added as an internal mod. This solution works with almost all problematic mods."

    Looking over that, I have one mod that says that, but I have no idea what you're talking about with "repackaging" a zip file. I am a nub at modding, it's why I downloaded this in the first place. >.<

    having gotten no answer on the dragon question, I downloaded the mod again anyway. First modloader killed my minecraft, then trying this without modloader also crashed my minecraft.

    what is it, optifine? because I had optifine last patch too. Forge, modloader, any mod except optifine and toomanyitems is killing my minecraft and forcing me to re-download everything.

    I desperately want to use this mod but you've made it so painfully difficult!

    First I try to start fresh and download forge, oh, it crashes my game! too bad so sad.

    so I try it fresh again and try with just your mod, no forge. nothing's happening, it's not reacting to the mod at all. You said put it in the mods folder, I did, the portal doesn't work, so something's up.

    so I try to recover my OLD .minecraft that I saved, only to find all the mods spontaneously missing! what the hell is going on?!

    Let's start by saying I'm very new to trying to get mods functional, and kind of suck at it.

    I went and downloaded "minecraftforge-universal-4.0.0.241" since I was told to use the most updated one with a star next to it. I have no idea what the difference between "universal" and "src" is.

    started fresh 1.3.2, deleted meta-INF, stuck the mod's contents into the minecraft.jar as with every other mod and, drumroll please...

    black screen!

    Their thread isn't helping at all, one youtube "guide" was full of gibberish and mentioned folders I don't have, the other I followed to the letter and lead me here.

    what the hell did I do wrong this time? :SSSS:

    edit: I just get a black screen. Also what's a minecraft directory? As I said I have no idea what I'm doing. Hours later I haven't gotten anywhere.

    In the meantime in my adventures of failure (Forge+Twlight Forest on hold until I get more info on them. starting from scratch again), I'm trying to get animal bikes to work. I had TMI and optifine, attempted to add modloader and...crashed. Then attempted animal bikes without modloader and crashed again. I also notice there's no way to back up my modded jar that I can find, so I'm having to re-apply these mods every single time. My end goal is either:
    -Modloader
    -Optifine
    -TooManyItems
    -Animal Bikes

    or
    -Forge
    -The Twilight Forest
    -any of the above that work

    UberHaxorNova does lets plays where he has something like 50 mods on the same minecraft world, yet I can't manage more than two on a good day. I must be doing something wrong here.

    edit2: currently experimenting with magic launcher since someone said they got the forge/twilight forest combo working with it. Getting "No Mods Found" for twilight forest. Stuck again. still routinely checking up on this thread here.

    edit3: Magic Launcher eventually solved everything. Thread closed.

    specifically, step by step, how do I toggle the enderdragon bike terrain fire? I'd really love to burninate the peasants and their thatched roof cottages, but as is I have to settle for only the peasants.

    I looked through and the closest I could find was:
    Terrain burning can be turned on in the .minecraft/config/mod_AnimalBike.cfg

    I really don't know what that means.
