Feel free to use the mod in modpacks. I don't plan to update it to 1.7.10 since it's easy enough to connect to servers with 1.7.2. However I do plan to update to 1.8 when it comes out.
Useful mod! Great idea dude
If you can, try to make it a bar instead of a number, like an outline to the hunger bar or something like that. (Make it a config option between number and bar, not everyone will like the number and not everyone will like the bar...)
I've actually done this now in Version 2.0. Hope you enjoy!
I really like this concept! Great work!! A question though: did you mean to name this "Satiation"? As in: "Satiety", feeling "full" and satisfied after eating; the cessation of hunger?
No, the Minecraft community (and MCP code) terms it "saturation." Frankly, "satiation" would make more sense, but what can you do?
An outline would only work for one specific resourcepack (or just default). I could add an entire new bar, but it seems to me that the bars are already balanced and I don't want to undo that.
As far as I can tell, the best option (and I haven't looked to see if this is feasible) is a 2 pixel thick bar above the existing hunger bar. I could put a matching one over the health bar that displays time until health regeneration or something similar. (Any ideas for that?)
One feature I *can* add, if there's interest, is the option to display your saturation up to a single decimal point. (ex. 4.6 instead of 5) I've kept it as an integer because I think there isn't a real need to see decimal points, since your saturation always drops by increments of 1. The decimal merely comes from what food you eat, and doesn't tell you anything more about how long it will be until you have to eat again.
EDIT: Now updated to Version 2.0! Check the second video for details.
EDIT2: There was a weird glitch, so the download link was wrong. It's fixed now, sorry!
Vanilla Minecraft doesn't reveal your real hunger. For those who don't know, saturation is essentially a hidden hunger bar that determines how long you can go without eating. Saturation is why some foods keep your hunger bar filled longer than others, and saturation is why you need to eat so much more in 1.7 than you did before. Knowing your saturation allows you to see the true value of different foods and how long you have until you need to eat again.
SaturationDisplay shows your saturation number (which goes from 0 to 20, like health and armor) just above your experience level, along with your other status indicators. You can see how it works below:
This mod REQUIRES FORGE! You must download and install Forge before installing SaturationDisplay. You can get Forge here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/
Once you have Forge installed, just put the mod file (SaturationDisplay-1.7.2-2.0.jar) into your "mods" folder in .minecraft. If you want to set your default options, go into your "config" folder and edit the file named "satdismodid.cfg" to your liking.
I hope you find this useful! Please reply here if you find any bugs in the mod.
(Troubleshooting)
Incompatibility: For unknown reasons, this mod does not work if you're using Forge 10.12.1.1080. It's possible there are problems with other Forge versions as well. However, I know that it works on the recent stable version of Forge, 10.12.2.1121.
Just install the new version of Forge and adjust your profile so that you use that version of Minecraft. All your mods should work without any adjustments.
(Some notes on how the mod works)
First, if you're interested in learning about saturation and hunger in Minecraft, I recommend you read through the Minecraft Wiki entry on hunger here: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Hunger
As for the mod itself:
In singleplayer, the value displayed will always be accurate. This is not the case on servers, especially if the server has a non-vanilla method of determining saturation. I am working to cover exceptions, so please tell me about cases where the mod does not work on servers.
One key problem is that many servers are still technically 1.6 despite accepting 1.7 clients, and many other servers have reverted the change to saturation made in 1.7. If you don't know, this was to quadruple the saturation loss from sprint jumps. (The previous rate was a bug.) This is not (as far as I can tell) detectable instantly. Instead, the mod will notice if the server is sending saturation values consistent with 1.6 saturation calculations and adjust appropriately. Sprint jump a bunch and make yourself hungry, and the mod will notice. However, it will "forget" if a server is 1.6 once you disconnect.
If you don't want to use a minimap but still want to see your coordinates without pressing F3, then this mod is for you.It simply displays your current coordinates on the top right of your window.Examples:

How could you contribute to the community?: Maturity
Choice of Nation or NAI?: NAI
What are your specialties (minecraft)?: PvP
Tell us a little something about yourself: I like Minecraft.
What other servers have you played on?: oc.tc
Do you have a mic/teamspeak? If not, are you able to get them? Yes.
Any Extra Information:
Just beat all challenges from Version 2.6! Time to catch up with 2.8!
(Also, the Water Factory was way harder than challenge 13 for me.)
I also beat all of your 2nd obstacle course.
EDIT: Beat the two new maps. Also found out you added a ton of mini checkpoints to the Water Factory. Without those, I would rank the Water Factory as the hardest map. With them, I think it's ranked about right.
The new mall map was pretty good, I beat it in about an hour. (half an hour for the 12th and final stage of it, of course)
Any way to make them function like signs, so they will face a certain direction depending on which way you face? That would make this mod so much more useful than it clearly already is.
Do you mean you want them to have a fixed view, or one that changes as you move? Because it already changes as you move.
To install, unzip the downloaded file and put the files into your minecraft.jar *after* installing Modloader.
Note: This is mostly a proof of concept mod before 1.9 comes out. There are a few known bugs that will be fixed in 1.9. These include flags not being named properly, and flags being placeable on the sides or bottoms of blocks.

I said "I'll think about it." because that would require 16 or more new images, and this mod already adds 16 new images to the game.

Temptingpage: I'll think about it.
Soursight: I'll have to look into the code for signs then.

Do you mean you want them to have a fixed view, or one that changes as you move? Because it already changes as you move.

Also: They are rendered like flowers are, so they will always face right no matter what direction you look at them from.

This simple mod adds 16 flags to the game, one for each existing dye.
These flags can be used to mark pathways in caves, for example:
To help with this, every flag has a slight glow!
A normal, white flag is made from a stick and a piece of wool. Simply add a dye of your choosing to get a colored flag!
