    I had assumed that was a vanilla addition. Since I always play with BTW I totally didn't realise that BTW added it in.
    Such a nice touch.

    Hi FC,
    Just apologising for the obvious on the other forum.
    I was just in a daydream mood and thoughts came to me and after a while I posted. An hour later and I posted some more.
    It really should have been appended to the OP, or perhaps to my notepad. Just figured I would share some thoughts with a community I enjoyed.
    It didn't even occur to me that there is a bump rule.
    I still find the concept of the 'bump' so alien.
    I'm about to head off on holiday so I don't suppose you could undo what was done so that I could attempt to remove said 'bumps' as I don't want to have this on my mind while I'm away.
    And please don't take it as a suggestion. I am just lazy when it comes to programming but I think I will go and realise this idea myself.

    Amen to that.
    Who knows how many ideas I have had that I have binned. Worst part is that I have the knowledge to make them, some of them have been (in theory) reasonable to implement. But the fact of the matter is that I am too lazy.
    However there has been one idea that I keep coming back to. Simple, easy to implement, will not interfere with BTW. In fact I thought it up while playing BTW and believe it would work symbiotically with BTW, while not depending on it or causing any problems with balance.
    I am not going to say more than that until I decide to make or bin the idea... After I come back from holiday.

    That is what it comes down to really. Nothing can be said until we actually see and use the API.
    Personally I feel that it will all turn out fine.
    They may get it right straight off the bat, they may not. The community will ultimately decide its worth. If it doesn't work fine, they will find out soon enough and have the ability to adapt it to fit the community. And even if they don't produce something to fit the community someone will create a method to work around it.
    Hell even if they make it right I guarantee someone will make a work-around.

    Im sure exactly what you were asking, so instead I will describe my system to you. The gear that is powered to allow the descent of the lift is controled by a flip-flop. This is so when i press a button the flipflop will provide and cut redstone power to the gear.
    This provides me the ability to turn on and off the gear from a large number of locations as the only input I need to the lift system is a redstone pulse (button).

    Simply:

    [button] -- [Flipflop] -- [gearbox]

    "Then" means "after". "Than" is comparative.

    Indeed that is a simplified way of of looking at it, which is why the title of this mod would not make sense as "Better than Buildcraft"

    Assuming froo mean through I will suggest restricting rope in your pulleys so that your platform doesnt reach the lava or water

    BTW is incompatable with forge and thus, incompatable with RP.
    Redstone circuts on a vertical plane is no problem. Check out this if you need some help.
    Also you may want to check out the Lens block, as you can easily do a wireless redstone like solution with this.

    Edit: The video may have been an old version from when BTW was on Forge

    HD texture pack works. I don't use HD Patcher however I use optifine and as long as you install it last it works fine. I know HD Patcher works but as I have not used it in a long while I couldn't tell you what to do there. There are a few texture packs that encompass BTW BTB and Buildcraft. Faithful, Battosay's Mix. I am sure there are others.

The mod was his own creation to make the game more enjoyable to himself, it should be enough that he shares it with anyone to begin with. I look at it as a gift, and it's just poor manners to ask for more when you receive a gift.

    I believe there is a popular idiom that sums up your post. I think we should shake it up a bit. Lets substitute horses for wolves (my mount of preference) to keep it (loosely) relative to BTW.

    I knew there were massive differences between SP/MP already after "helping" to mod a server and
    I can already feel the collective headaches of a million modders the day SMP gets that update...

    Pity, because BTW looks like it's one of the best mods out there!

    I beleive what Elodia7 is saying is wait and be patient. Minecraft is going to change the code for SMP to make things easier. It is all a matter of time and patience.
