Dec 22, 2010Updated the elevator mod for MC Beta. The rest of the updates will come tomorrow.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 22, 2010Waiting on the ModLoader update right now.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Dec 13, 2010Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from kantk2010 »Ethereal,
Here's a video I made on my Twin Towers that shows how your elevators work. It's great, thanks for your mod so much!'!
Put your video into the first post :wink.gif:.
Quote from Miloch »I'd like to request some changes to the meteorite mod. First off I'd like for the meteorite to be made of stuff other than just ore. Also, you could have more then one ore in the meteorite. Mainly I'd say add some rock to the ore at the least. Thanks for listening. Hope you have luck solving the hovering issue.
Sorry, but I've been looking and cannot find the fix for low mob spawns. I see it mentioned further up the page, but I cannot find it at all.
The fix for low mob spawns is in the latest version. However, if you're still having low mob spawns, then I didn't fix it right .
Quote from Billyboi »I was actually wondering, would it be possible to have the size of the meteorite be under the influence of a percentage?
For example, say I put the minimum block size of a meteorite at 1 and the maximum at 20, but have it so that larger meteorites are more rare than the smaller ones.
If you added that I would be a very happy man!
(Word to the wise, don't set the minimum and maximum size at 100, its some scary ****.)
It actually goes by a normal distribution curve right now, with the middle sized meteor appearing more often. Might change that later though.
Dec 6, 2010Bugfix update!Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Quote from CubicAoshi »Possible Bug:
The meteorites mod affected my mob spawn somehow, animals are scarce, so the other mobs too
I think it's maybe the bg class?
Yes, I actually noticed this, though I'm not sure what might be causing it. Check the first post for a possible fix.
Quote from Death »u shud use my formula for the craters
A(asteroid center) and R(asteroid radius)
RC=radius of crater
B=bottom of asteroidand then, to make the chunk move you do something like, make the x-3 and y-5 (wait y=height right?) until it hits an object
cuz when the asteroids hit ground they float
this way the crater goes to right below it
I cannot make heads or tails of your "formula".
You seem to go through a bunch of calculations to find RC (which by your formula, would be the diameter of the meteor) when in fact, you can just double the radius. Also, the game's explosion mechanism works on power and not explosion radius, which makes this formula rather useless. From what I can decipher of the rest of the formula, you plant the center of the ore chunk at 2 diameters away from meteor impact, which might be useful if not for the aforesaid issue, along with the fact that direction is not mentioned.
I have not yet thought of a satisfactory solution to this issue, so for the time being, the ore will stay floating .

Hey do I have to install Risu's Mod and patch yours over or just use works?
Well either way, my files will replace Risu's files. In other words, no :tongue.gif:.
Quote from Brookman5 »This is probably one of my favorite mods. Only thing I would like to see added is a way to make the explosion radius larger or smaller. That way a large meteor hitting the ground would cause a crater like in real life. Other than that, this is an epic mod. :biggrin.gif:
The bigger the meteor, the stronger the explosion.
Dec 3, 2010I have updated all of the mods to MC v1.2.6. Note the changes in Rename World and the Elevator mod.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
In the Rename World mod, the version that is merged with Risugami's More Worlds mod has been merged with Risugami's newest More Worlds mod. This means that it will now rename the folder in which the world exists instead of creating a new dat file inside that folder. Additionally, the normal version of the Rename Worlds mod and the More Worlds version are no longer compatible.
In the Elevator mod, the elevator will now stop upon reaching the maximum height of the world instead of disappearing.
Dec 2, 2010Also, it would be impractical to make stairs out of all the materials as currently, block IDs are limited to 127, with 91 of those taken by the blocks that are included with the game. Most of the other IDs (>100) are used up by other mods. Therefore, until Notch implements a greater number of block IDs, making stairs out of all materials would be too incompatible with most mods.Posted in: Mods Discussion
Dec 2, 2010Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from AirmanKissell »Im not sure how to customize the meteors. like diameter and all that. can i get a walk through?
Go to your minecraft directory. If you're on Windows, it's in "%APPDATA%/.minecraft" (You can type that in to the address bar). Open up the file called meteoriteOptions.txt with any text editor, and change what you want based on the restrictions outlined in the first post.
Quote from Verihyypp »Meteors like this. And then you can shoot them. Perfect annihilation.
Which part of that should be part of the meteor? It already explodes and generates fire. I feel like the ability to shoot meteors would be a bit OP though.
Dec 1, 2010Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from poneboy00 »Quote from rudiger »Should I have a modloader installed? If so, what is it called? I will be pleased if it's only my ignorance causing this issue.
Not a modloader , THE ModLoader, just search Risugami and you'll find his thread if it's not already on the front page.
I also have a question. Is the meteorite mod compatible with 2.1.5? Because I set it up, installed it properly, and can load up maps just fine, but no meteroites fall, even at rarity=1. Any help?
Make sure you're not on peaceful. Meteors (like enemy mobs) are set to despawn if they spawn in peaceful.
Dec 1, 2010Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from rudiger »Thank you, Ethereal. I know this is just a thanks from an arbitrary person online, but know that it is fully meant, and definitely cubical.
Additionally, I am experiencing an error with this mod on a clean installation, when loading a world.

Quote from ChaosJames »Fear and be amazed at my ability to make something that totally didn't end up like how I imagined it, lol.
My attempt at the Elevator Block. I pray you get something better than this, I went from Zelda 2 Elevator to this horror and I don't know how I did.
That looks ok, although I can't tell what the red is there for (did the Zelda 2 Elevator have a red X?).
Dec 1, 2010Updated with bugfixes and new features. Read the first post for details.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
It would be appreciated if someone could make minecraft-style sprites (preferably 16x16) for the elevator and the meteor summoner .
Quote from [Chris »]Quote from Ethereal »Quote from [Chris »]the meteor mod seemingly doesnt work. crashes with bg.class being the error
Yeah, didn't get to test that yesterday >.>. I'll fix it sometime today.
Yeah, it crashes before it even loads the map/world.
I can't seem to reproduce this. Could you post the error you get?

Dec 1, 2010Updated all the mods for MC v1.2.4_01. Also pushed out an update for the meteorite mod that includes a configuration file! Read the first post for details.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Nov 30, 2010Nope, everything is still in the block class as it should be, only now, the block class is np.class. MCP hasn't been updated. This is why I don't use MCP :wink.gif:. You can be so much more independent without it.Posted in: Mods Discussion

Are you sure you are using smoothstone in your recipes and not cobblestone?
I had that problem when I started using this mod.
Yeah the smelted cobblestone
Have you installed ModLoader?
Quote from TheAttendee »Quote from Ethereal »Quote from TheAttendee »From what I'm understanding; I can't use redstone to make buttons that will make the elevator go up or down while inside of it, but I can use them to make call-to buttons incase it gets left on an different floor? Would it ever be possible to do the former?
Either way your mods are very well put together. Kudos!
Yes, the redstone is for call-to buttons. Why would you need buttons if you were inside the elevator? You can just stop the elevator and click on the other block.
In conjunction with the controller block I was going to set up a more automated approach to the elevator.
<- Control Block 2
<- Control Block 1
<--- Elevator Top
You would press a button while in the elevator and the control block above you would disappear at the exact time the elevator started moving. You would ride up to the next control block and do the same if you wanted to keep going. For going down, I'd just reverse it.
Its not really possible because the button can't tell the elevator who pressed the button. Realistically, there's only one person in single player, but if you had, say, a creeper who pressed a pressure plate, then the player could suddenly be teleported back to the elevator and blown up.
EDIT: Why do I always have typos...T.T
